Absolutely horrible customer service. I was mailed a gift from here by my Mother in Law (who lives in FL) which did not fit me and they refused to give me a store credit because I was one week outside of their 21 day return policy. And to top it off Amy, the Manager, would not come out from the back to speak with me only left her helpless assistant Sarah, alone to do her dirty work. As a Manager of a retail business myself, I am very much aware of how these kinds of shortsighted attitudes can hurt business. A fate I'm sure Brightside will come to see. I'm sorry that I have bought so many other gifts for friends here over the years and will certainly never return or send recommendations here. First things first- this place is awesome. Reasonably priced (not H&M reasonable, but think Urban or Free People) unique, and stylish clothing and accessories in an adorable little storefront in Fed Hill. I visited recently after lurking their Instagram forever, and I'm pretty gosh darn happy with my haul. So why not five stars? My situation might be unique, but I thought it was worth sharing. I visited here on a mission to find something stylish, high quality, and dressy but not too formal to wear to a wedding. I also bought a couple other things including a cut-to-your-length maxi dress which is amazing for a shorter gal like me and if I could wear it all day, every day I would. The dress I bought for the wedding was a really cute dress that wasn't *exactly* my style, but it was totally appropriate. Fast forward a couple of days and their website launches, and I see an AWESOME dress on their that was not in the store. It was wedding appropriate and way closer to the look I normally go for. I bought it, and their shipping was super fast (serious points for this- I was worried because it was a holiday weekend). I was going to exchange the other dress right away, but waited at my boyfriend's suggestion to make sure the new one fit correctly--plus I live near DC so it's a trek to get up to Baltimore twice in one week. By then, however, I had travel plans to take care of and we were leaving town. I went to exchange it when I got back (I REALLY wanted another maxi dress). Deeee-nied. First off-- it's totally my fault for not checking the receipt (I was not warned of this policy at checkout, btw) but at the same time most places have a 20-30 day policy. This shop's is 14 days, I came back on day 15 :-(. I tried really hard to be cool about it (part of it was my bad after all) and I figured their return policy was so short because they seem to change their inventory fairly often, but then I noticed the exact same dress I was trying to exchange was still very much for sale in the exact same spot I picked it from. WTH. I felt like an exception could have easily been made, especially since I didn't need the dress anymore because I bought another one from them and not someplace else. TL;DR: I'm out $70 on something I'm most likely never going to wear. This would definitely deter me from continuing business with any other store, but I will be back to Brightside for sure. I really love this boutique and was super excited that they opened a store in hampden. That being said, when I went in to shop I didn't feel welcome. I felt as though I was "checked out" by the woman behind the counter and then looked at as though I didn't belong. I don't mind shopping on the online store, but am way too intimidated to go back in person. I was super saddened by this, especially since the brand promotes women empowerment. Awesome boutique in Fed Hill that has great clothes at great prices. They do a great job at keeping their customers coming back for more with trunk shows, social media discounts and ladies nights! I wandered in one night after dinner and told my boyfriend I would "only be 5 minutes". He's a sucker for believing me! When I came in, the girl working was super friendly and quickly asked if I wanted her to hang some of the items I had picked up as I kept browsing. As I was wandering around the store, she suggested other items to put outfits together which I greatly appreciated because at 27 years old I still need help dressing myself. To make things even better, she offered me a free shot! Apparently Van Gogh vodka had done a tasting earlier in the evening and they had a lot of leftovers. Yes, please! I left with a new dress, some free shots, a little buzz (yes, I'm a light weight) and a Van Gogh cocktail recipe booklet. Totally unique experience but a perfect end to a Tuesday night! Even though my experiences have been very pleasant, I have experienced one sales associate who really could care less even if you walked in waving hundred dollar bills in her face. I stumbled on this boutique when I was when I was out desperately looking for a dress for a work cocktail attire affair that was held in the next hour. This was my last stop and I was in tears because I had nothing to wear and had been to 5 prior stops. Not only did the saleswoman help me find something to wear that fit me (I am tiny with a larger upper body), I had forgot my credit card, had a limited amount of cash and she helped me find something I could afford. I was desperate and this woman took the time to go out of her way to take care of me. The best customer service I have EVER experienced. This place has such a nice pretty yellow outside I thought it was worth a visit. They carry a lot of J Dakota and other Nordtrom brands. The staff is NOT friendly. They are sort of grungy type who will acknowledge you but not really help you. This is not a good idea for federal hill. Most boutiques welcome you and are eager to assist you. I felt like I was unwelcome here. Lady working didn't speak to me when I came in or when I left out. She appeared busy on twitter. You're at work lady! read more

I recently got a tattoo done by Kike at Brightside. He is the owner in case you were wondering. Out of the rest of the tattoos i have; i have never had an artist that genuinely cared so much for art and what works best for his clients. He is extremely talented and is worth every dollar. I had sent him a couple pictures of references of what i wanted and he made my tattoo come to life in it's own unique way. Thank you Kike i have recommended everyone to you, thank you for being a wonderful artist and business owner. I felt comfortable and welcomed. I will definitely be returning for his work. Great customer service. I ordered a dress online and had just recently moved and accidentally put the wrong address in. So obviously I never received my package. I called the store and they directed me to USPS to check the status.. a few days later they called me letting me know that they had received the rejected package and asked for my new address. I offered to come pick up since they had already sent it out once and I know there are fees with shipping. But she insisted on it being totally fine for them to reship it and then wished me a Happy Holiday. Made my stress over receiving this before New Years diminish. I have followed the place's page for along time. I liked some of the stuff they posted on facebook so I went in with my 10 months old boy last week. I was with a stroller, the door was hard to open and manage but that's every place these days. I got in and it was empty. No costumers, no employees. I saw some stuff I liked, when finally someone came in she didn't say anything. I mentioned I have followed the place online but haven't been there until now to start a conversation, but she didn't care to talk back. I liked some boots, so I took them and tried them on, again with 0% interest by the woman working there. I saw they were very affordable since they were running a sale at the moment, so I thought - how cool - I can buy my boots for this winter right now!..when I looked at her she was totally checked out again. I think she didn't like the fact that I was moving a stroller through the small space. Well - not much to do about that, since I can's park my son outside obviously. After a few more minutes of me looking around and waiting for some sort of contact with planet Earth from this woman there, I got pissed and took off. On my way out she shouted something thanking me for coming, sounded relieved that I was leaving with my 'uncool' stroller and baby. I would have probably been a regular costumer if I have gotten any service while I was there. I am crazy for clothes and shoes(like most women) I have worked in Fed Hill for years and I know that rent there is expensive, and so is property. So I hope they think that this attitude is worth their clients because I'm not coming back.
