There is a massive recycling centre in there and its excellently organised and run. I didn't realise I would be visiting Ballyogan Recycling Park the very next day and what an experience it was. The place is setup brilliantly for people to drive in, park and dispose of their recycling. The different bins or collection boxes are clearly marked for what they accept. And the place is spotless. My sister tells me the same person is there always keeping the place tidy. A few things to note, you can bring a car load of garden waste here too and it will cost you we think 7 EUR. More if you have a car trailer. For this you will need to turn left as you come in the front gate and pay the lady at the barrier. Another thing to note is all the WEEE waste is in a separate section to the regular recycling and for this you also need to go through the barrier to the left as you come in. The nice lady at the barrier will give you a receipt and let you in with no charge. Just drive passed the garden waste and you'll see the WEEE section further on. Again this place is setup perfectly with everything clearly marked as to where things should go. For a recycling experience, Ballyogan Recycling Park is as good as it gets.

On this occasion I decided to come to my old recycling haunt as I was carless, also had some batteries that needed disposing and I was catching the 18 bus nearby afterwards. The place is still perfectly organised and clean. Clean as a recycling and waste disposal place can be. The one way system for cars is excellent and the parking spots in the recycling yard very organised. For all your recycling needs in Rathmines this is your go-to place, as long as they accept it! They said they would get cancellations to call me. No call and on Tuesday, a month later, they ring me to say there are arrears for the last month (which is cancelled). They claim they did call me (they didn't), then they said they would call me "tomorrow". This is now two days later and they still didn't call me. I tried to call them instead, at 3pm, and got an answering machine to day they are closed, opening hours are 9 til 6 (or whatever) An incredibly incompetent company.

But I love you all for that :) Woke this morning and decided to go on a mission to recycle the bottles from Friday night. This bottle bank is located in Smithfield Square and takes, clear, brown and green glass. I would love it more if it took plastic and paper. There also is a clothes bank beside it too. I returned home happy to get that out of the way and to read my Sunday paper over tea, but first to hang out the clothes. Yelp juice from that blasted red sheet has seeped into all my clothes... I am Yelp branded for life.
