The owner was friendly, personable, and very knowledgeable without treating me like a noob. He was quick to offer advice on baits, lures, and spots without pressuring to buy stuff. I remember coming here with my dad when I was a kid and now it's my go to bait shop. I mostly only get night crawlers which is the most basic bait you can probably get but they never fail. I've also had my reels spooled here with great turnaround time and my brother also went in and got a rod and reel from them a year or so ago when he needed a new one (he caught a huge rainbow trout the day he bought it too). Anyway I hope to one day bring my own son here one day to get his first rod and reel. read more

Needed to restock some gear and stopped in. First time there since the original owner told me sold the place. Prices were no higher than Walmart and a lot better selection. Gave me some ideas of where to go. I had read the recent crappy reviews, but went there anyhow since I believe what I see and nothing in the visit reflected any of the gripes. This place is definitely my go to spot before fishing, even if i'm going the total opposite direction of 95 i will still come here before any other shop. i recently bought my fishing rod and reel here and i received the best service and price. Brinkman's has been around for over 40 years and they're the nicest people you would meet in a bait shop. though this place may be really small, it holds a lot of supplies needed. This place is everything a fishing shop should be. A place to shoot the breeze, pick up some live bait, and any equipment you need. Reasonably priced and locally owned. Dogs running around and as the saying "Old Fisherman Don't Die, They Just Smell That Way" rings true. Highly recommended if you are headed out to any of the local fishing spots, and many people don't understand just how many local fishing spots there are. Which is probably a good thing. read more

Hands down best B&T store of all time. I've been going there since 1965. I was new to the area and someone told me I could get live bait there. I was 10 years old. My first time there old man Brinkman was running the store and he got a real chuckle out of me. Here I am a snoty nosed 10 yr old, who took the bus there, with he's little Tackle box and a fly rod with a Spinning reel at the end of it. But he was gracious to me, hooked me up with some nightcrawlers and told me to go to the hatcheries and fish at the last pond. I did what he told me, and the first fish I caught was a 4lb largemouth Bass. I've been going to Brinkmans ever since. I just turned 65 last Wednesday.
