Sometimes when your shlopping (looking/shopping not really buying anything ) you don't want people asking how your day was . And how does the warehouse have the uncanny ability of when you walk in for only 1 or 2 items, but hello you walk out with a colouring book , felts , scarves , fake flowers , DVDs , seeds , towels and anything else you think your getting a bargain on . Things I hate about the warehouse - the jumble of clothes , the disorder of books and DVDs , the kid with that noisy toy that just won't quit and weird European candies . I'm still coming back its where everyone gets a bargain !

We found The Warehouse and it looked to be like a Walmart or Target. They have gift card options in values of $25, $50, and $100. So, we bought a couple of Warehouse gift cards and requested them to be delivered to our family in Mt. Albert. They received the gift cards the next day and were very delighted! Although I've never been to The Warehouse yet.. their customer service is definitely top notch if they're able to deliver their products sooner than scheduled. They also enclosed it in a gift envelope which had our personalized message on it.

This is my go to spot when I need some quick supplies visiting my in laws. Forgot my jandals? No problem. $7 at KMart. Need some new swimmies? Cheap ones here that aren't ridiculous. Need new summery dresses for cheap? Yep. Golden. And then grab a cheap kapiti on the way out the door and your life is made.

Not only do they have great bargains here,…read morebut they have almost anything you could want (although let's not get technical) and they are open until midnight- just three reasons there, but isn't that enough? The Botany Downs Kmart is my favourite. It's massive and I love exploring this place (although I do come here at least once a fortnight). The staff are great here, I'm always greeted when I arrive and when I leave and they're always nearby if i need to ask of something. Kmart is great for buying clothes to lounge around the house in at a cheap price and the occasional baking utensil (I just can't resist sometimes). My last visit had me going home with some new lounge trackies for $15 and 6 pairs of socks for $6- a really good bargain if you ask me. This Kmart also has the self-checkout service with handy hanger bins, and I definitely prefer to buy my items this way when I've only got a couple of items. Working in retail, I've seen Kmart sell similar styles they have in malls for a fraction of the cost and usually Kmart has better quality. Just goes to show that it's not always about brands and quality doesn't always have to mean a high price.

Home to Stephen Marr, Lucy and the Powder Room, Karen Walker, Black Box, TopShop as well as a myriad of rotating NZ designers, this place is nothing short of brilliant. Definitely well worth checking out if you are looking to add some greenery to your office or home!

If I'm going to visit Country Road, this branch is by far my favourite, and I almost always pop in…read moreif I'm shopping at Botany (which is a great mall, with lots of outdoor spaces). Country Road Botany is a lovely, spacious store that's large without being overwhelming, and with a layout that's easy to navigate. It also has entrances from inside and outside the mall, making it all the more tempting to visit, and is located nearby other women's fashion stores, so you can easily try another one if you don't find what you're looking for in here. The nicest part of this Country Road is the service though - it's a light-touch approach to sales, which is such a relief after you've been harangued with endless "So how's your day going/Having a day shopping are you/What are your plans for the weekend?" in other shops.

They recently got a re-vamp and while the store is smaller it still manages to fit in all the necessities. I love looking at their OPI section, which they display really well and they have a pretty good range of perfumes and colognes to browse. When i'm in a hair pickle I usually pick up extra bobby pins and hair ties from here, then end up buying something completely different- those salespeople are just too good! Apart from their beauty products, they have a good range of over the counter medicines should you need them. The ladies there are helpful and always make good suggestions, but don't put on too much pressure to buy (I've had to buy antihistamines for myself after a crazy reaction, and they were certainly not cheap). They also provide piercing services here and they can usually do it for you straight away or within 30 minutes. Pharmacies are definitely not cheap, but Life Pharmacy does some great deals every week that you might find handy and the staff can help you out with whatever you're after or even if you're just after some advice on a product.

The reviews from 2013 might have been accurate for the time…read more But coming to you from 2015, this place is rockin'! Not going to give it the full five stars because it's not the cheapest or nicest looking store around. I expect cheaper prices as the place gets drabby-errrr. But that is by no means a reason not to go, just initially misleading. The place is much more organized than what I read, even has a 16+ section which is nice. Also note, the men's section is microscopic, even considering the smaller sizes of men's sections at charity shops, it's almost overlooked. But for women, it's great. They have a sale rack out side, a $2 rack indoors, 50 cent table, boutique or price-ier items section, intimates and swim separated out and in baskets of different quality and prices: glorious. The selection is wide in style and in size. I found basics I was looking for, like black leggings, and ridiculous cocktail dresses that I would't find anywhere else. The ladies working there were extremely friendly and on top of making sure the people milling about the place got what they needed. They were really nice to one girl shopping there, helping her in the fitting room and encouraging her fashion sense, which, coming from snobby-mall culture, I appreciate. They were having a 30% off day when I went which made everything even more of a bargain than the tag prices. I spent $24 and got a cocktail dress, nice black stylized leggings, a velvet+sheer shirt, two bras and maroon tights. The girl who rung my up was sweet, funny, talked to me about clothes, gave me tips of other charity shops around and was just great. Maybe not 5 star status, but this place is awesome. Should totally be a must on your thrift-list through Auckland.

It was really hard to keep up with sizes and different items of clothing, as it was all very mixed up. They have some more expensive items out the back if you're seeking a discounted ball dress or two. Yet I could find nothing in my size, because I guess the store assistants would rather natter to each other than organize them into appropriate sizes, or colours, or something! It's a sanguine's room in there without the decency of a bed. If you just want a deal, and you don't mind spending countless time sifting through racks and racks of clothes, then great! If you'd like a more efficient experience, perhaps a Cotton On Outlet down the road will do?

My husband swears by the Man After Shave Balm (score brownie points with surprise presents for loved ones) and I really love my $2 Eye Cream which smells and feels delicious. Nothing is over $30 here, it really is a bargain hunters dream. They also have homeware items such as candle holders, bags and décor like this amazing hot pink buddha candle, oh my goodness I wanted it so badly. They have really good free parking outside so you don't have to feel bad about spending a long time looking around. The staff are really friendly here but they aren't intrusive, they leave you to look around and only help you when you need it.
