I…read morewas told by the referring dentist office that i should get a call from Van Meter once my appointment was scheduled. My daughter's referral and xrays were sent to Van Meter. I never got a call from them. I called a few days later to follow up with Van meter and a very rude receptionist answered. I told her I was confirming my daughter's appointment and there was no appointment scheduled. She asked me did I call and make an appointment, rather rudely and I said no and told her what the referring dentist told me. She smartly says "well if you didn't call and schedule an appointment, why would you think you had one?" I repeated what the referring dentist told me and she again, very snarkily said "I have over 100 referrals on my desk, I don't have time to call you back." I asked her could she pull up my daughter's referral and help me schedule an appointment and she again smartly responded that she had over 100 referrals on her desk and didn't have time for that. Shw wanted me to provide her with all the information on the referral. I mentioned to her that i was a new customer and didn't know their office policy and told her i wouldn't hold her since she had over 100 referrals to handle and she had her hands full so there was no need adding to her workload. Then before I hung up, all of a sudden she wanted to help schedule the appointment and her tone changed. I scheduled it, and as soon as I found another oral surgeon with a polite receptionist, I called and cancelled the appointment with Van Meter. If their receptionist was nasty to a brand new customer over the phone, I don't even want to know what the office staff are like to their patients.

I didn't want I do that and I ended up having 3 more kids as well. So as a mom you just put things off. When I went off my consult I didn't know if I'd actually follow through. I just don't like going to the Dr and especially new ones. I'm 37 years old. Dr. May comes into the room so friendly and just puts you to ease. What an amazing doctor!! So finally had it removed today. As I walked into the room and sat down I thought to myself why am I having this done. I should have just left it. Well, the nurse helping me was so very kind and nice, she put me at ease. She had dark hair and has two daughters. I wish I had of gotte her name. They talked to me while I was being put to sleep. Dr may and the nurses are so kind. I love his personality, he puts you at ease.

After paying almost $1,000 of my part, they are now asking for another $581.00. This is after they filed on my dental insurance and received payment from them as well. The insurance company told me that they were not in-network so was paid out of network rates, This was only 1 crown. I'm very disappointed that they did not stand up to what they told me my portion would be. I was so excited about having a dentist in network in Brandon, MS. I would not recommend anyone to their office.

Sure, I have had crowns come off or not fit quite right; however the team has always replaced the crowns and adjusted the fit until everything is just right. Sometimes you have to wear a crown for a day or so in order to tell whether the fit needs adjusting. The staff have always been good about getting me or my family in to see the dentist quickly when I need to be seen for urgent or out of the ordinary issues. Every dentist who has treated me or my family and performed procedures such as extractions have always called to check on us and addressed any issue or questions that have arisen. They have always been kind and provide several financial options to make care more affordable.
