We recently had our wedding in May 2025, and we are so glad we chose to hold our event here! I'm not from the Chicago area, but my now-wife is. We're Arab (Jordanian and Palestinian), and this hall was truly a hidden gem. We had a long list of needs: a venue that could accommodate a large number of guests, offer halal food, provide two separate halls if needed, be centrally located, and still be reasonably priced. This banquet hall checked every single box. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place is special. It underwent a $1.5 million renovation in 2024, and it really shows. The grand chandelier in the center adds an elegant touch, the bathrooms are clean and beautifully designed, and there are bridal suites upstairs available to use before the event. They even offer complimentary centerpieces and wedding card boxes, which is a thoughtful bonus if you're trying to keep decor simple or on budget. The food--absolutely delicious. We're not used to banquet hall food being memorable, but the chefs here genuinely exceeded our expectations. We had a tasting before the big day and ended up choosing the sun-dried tomato chicken as our main dish--it was a hit. The garlic potato soup was another favorite; our guests are still talking about it. The chai, which was included in the package at no extra cost, was also a crowd-pleaser. A special shoutout to Shafee, who supported us through every step of the planning process. Wedding planning can be stressful, but sitting down with him always brought us a sense of calm. He genuinely went out of his way to make sure our wedding was perfect, and we're so grateful for his attention to detail and kindness. The hall is located very close to Chicago O'Hare Airport, which made it super convenient for our out-of-town guests. I recently went to a wedding event at this location. This place looks good, however, poor management. This kind of organization is the worst management I have ever seen. The manager is hopeless. He does not know how to manage a large event, including the service. The food, catering is not brought out to guests on time, and the manager is discriminating guests, and he is not able to manage. It does not get better than Anna Rouhates. WOW- THIS WOMAN IS A LIVING LEGEND. My husband and I were looking for an amazing venue to host our wedding of +600 guests. We were first concerned with whether or not we would find a venue that would accommodate that many people considering that we also needed space for a dance floor. Well, we came to Anna and we told her that we didn't wish to serve alcohol at our wedding but to compensate for the lack of alcohol by having steak, salmon and chicken served instead (yes, you read right, three different options). Anna was very fair in her price to us but I'll admit, I didn't love the venue. I wasn't crazy about it and I couldn't picture my wedding taking place here. So with all honesty, my husband and I shopped around to other venues. We found out rather quickly that a. most places can't accommodate +600 guests and b. a lot of venues charge you even more per person if you're not serving alcohol because that's how they make up for the profits lost from alcohol. One thing that no venue had was Anna. Anna was a professional at all times, she was kind spirited, very calm at all times, honest, trustworthy and reliable. I knew that I could place my trust in her and that I would not be disappointed. So despite the fact that I wasn't 100% crazy on the place, Anna won me over. We signed a contract with Anna regarding our party and she explained to us what is included in our package. She was upfront and honest at all times- no hidden fees, no surprises, etc. Transparency is key in all aspects of life but even more important when it's your wedding. My husband and I met with Anna a couple of times during our planning period to discuss various details. During our first visit, we discussed how we would like the room to look like, decorations, table settings, etc. Anna promised that the dance floor would be replaced and that the ceilings will be renovated before our wedding. In addition, she put us in contact with our florist, Pam. During our second visit, we taste tested the food we would serve at the wedding. The first time we taste tested the food, it was just my husband me and my in- laws. The food was delicious but we were all so indecisive about the chicken. We also chose six different appetizers to be served to our guests as they pour in. Appetizers: - bruschetta - pizza bread - spanakopita - Cucumber rounds with salmon mouse - stuffed mushroom with crab cake - fried shrimp with cocktail sauce Main entree: Soup: cream of chicken Salad: garden salad with house ranch Entree: chicken w/ fresh basil and sun dried tomatoes and filet mignon medium well. Family style salmon, family style pasta w/ marinara, Malibu blend vegetables and oven brown red potatoes In addition, my husband and I did not wish to have alcohol served in our food but the cooking staff was patient with us and adhered to all of our requests. Most people only have one taste test but not us. We asked Anna if we could come back but this time with my mom and my sister- in - law. The food was just as delicious the second time around but this time we settled on the chicken choice and we added pasta to the menu. Anna gave us a really reasonable price for the pasta. She had so much patience with us and our big Monte-Bosnian family. We are truly grateful to her. All I can say is, Anna didn't disappoint because our wedding venue was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. We were absolutely blown away by the beauty of the space- it looked completely transformed!! I couldn't believe it was OUR wedding. The appetizers were slowly served. After my husband and I took our seats, we sat down and had dinner. There was no delay in dinner- everything went as smooth as possible. The best part was the cake cutting- it was just all amazing!! Not even worth giving it one star! Attended a wedding there and first how about change the name on the building to match the name of the business! You walk in and silk flowers everywhere with all kinds of different lights to try and make it look fancy, NOT more like tacky and cheap! Table centerpieces again cheap and tacky silk flowers. Now let's start with the bar, WTF only about 6 liquors to choose from and 2 types of beer! Not top shelf either. Let's go to the staff and food. How about a server who is expecting you to hand them your dirty glasses and plates. How about serve from the right and pick up from the left? Ya think!! No bread on the table and the soup was like they opened a can of Campbell soup and poured it in a cup! The salad was ok but one salad gravy boat with dressing per table of 10, you got to be kidding. The main course was steak if you want to call it that, that you couldn't even cut through it with the dull knife's they put on the table. Thank God it was dull because of it was sharp I would have probably cut myself trying to cut through the tough mystery meat. Then we have the chicken with a mystery sauce on it. Mystery because no one at the table could tell what it was. It was nice to see how the sauce was forming a skin layer over the chicken. Mashed potatoes that were just ok and green beans over cooked that they were too soft. Desert was ice cream that tasted old and freezer burned with some kind of red sauce on top, no one could tell what that was either. Last but. least the sweet table, if you could call it that. It looked like they went to a grocery store and bought boxes of little sample cakes and cheese cakes and put them on plates to try and make it look nice. With plastic plates and forks. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN not even if you pay me! The poor bride and groom were apologizing to every guest about the food and service. I really hope that who ever owns this place gave them their money back since they ruined their reception!! Olive Banquets train your staff, maybe English, not to have guests do their job, not to point at stuff on the table they want handed to them, spend more money on better food, real flowers and lighting effects. Last but not least get a chef to cook not some person who can just throw food on a stove and over cook it to death! I could only imagine what they served at the food tasting for brides and grooms to sway them to book the venue. Worst customer service ever. We called 35 days in advance to set up food tasting and finalize details but never heard from them. It took over 2 weeks to get a call back only to hear that they were on probation for violation of city ordinance. We kept getting run around from MO and he kept shifting blame on us. Never kept his end of the bargain or set up things on time. His way of dealing with his mistake is to threaten us about canceling our event. Honestly, I attended a wedding and reception at this venue and I was completely unimpressed. All chairs were wabbling with seat cushions slipping, dinner was bland, desserts were waxy tasting, bartenders were unprepared and poorly faked being able to make a proper Old Fashioned, which was made like a sweet Manhattan - with sweet vermouth and sugar, no bitters. The staff was in a hurry to clear tables, to the point that full drinks were taken away when not being watched, creamer for coffee curdled when poured into black coffee, and lighting was unmanaged when dancing began. As for the venue itself, I bet it was quite nice at one time, back in the 80's! Now the exterior is old and stained, interior is dated and rundown. Brides dressing room door didn't lock, neither did several of the bathroom stalls in the ladies room, and another guest watched as staff repaired the bridal runner and re-roll it to be used again! If I am ever invited to this venue for another event again, I'll seriously have to think twice. I really hope the bride and groom got an excellent price for how their event was handled. read more

Beware of these food thieves! Plus wrongful branding of their own banquet food with that of well known chefs of Chicago! My biggest day of getting married was ruined by these thieves. I ordered and paid for food and service for 150 guests and had only around 110 guests present. The extra food that i had already paid for and requested to take with me was stolen by the management in front of my friends who were overseeing the service. When I spoke to the owner Shafi he feigned helplessness and acted as if he had no idea what was going on. I also made my food order to be prepared by Chef Masood and was assured at the time of booking that he would be catering my wedding event. Two to three days before the event when I spoke to Chef Masood directly regarding my special reservation for his catering he was unaware of any such booking or order on that day. He was never contacted by the banquet at all and we ended up getting the food from the banquet itself while they claimed that it was coming from Chef Masood. read more

Do you want to be openly stolen from? Do you want major menu items missing from your event and no compensation afterwards? Do you view contracts as suggestions? Do you need superfluous things such as an AC, a working audio system or seating arrangement according to your own selfish needs? If so, you will love this place. To start, I have no relationship to other banquet halls and am not even in a related line of work. I post this to expose Shafi Baig and his father Aftab (who owns Monty's banquet hall) for the disgraceful crooks that they are. You decide: 1) we paid extra for a more expensive menu consisting of two meat entrees rather than 1 meat entree for 200 people. Lo and behold, only one grill item was there during the event and they refuse to compensate. That is at least $400-600 dollars they openly stole. 2) They divert food you have paid for. We paid an outside reputable caterer for 200 people's worth of food and had about 150 people show up. The leftovers were supposed to be packed and returned to us. What did Bristol do? Keep the food and gave us 4 trays, some of it stale and likely from another event that they had hosted before. We looked at photos of our event and they conclusively demonstrate how much food was left at the end and what we received to take home at the end. Where did 50 people's worth of food (about $900) go? I have since spoken with other people who have used Bristol and Monty's and they report similar instances where food went missing or ran out during their event because the owners had diverted it. 3) No mic system was in place at the start of the event and married couple's entrance was ruined as a result 4) no A/C in the makeup room for the bride. Makeup was ruined due to it being so hot 5) Contract called for a partition but he could not provide one when the event finally came. He had the nerve then to try to charge extra for his attempt at a partition, the one that was supposed to be there in the first place 6) did not arrange our request of a long, center table for the groom & bride's immediate family. They sat amongst all the other guests and you couldn't tell who the wedding was even for. Worst of all is Aftab and Shafi's handling of the issues above. These are legitimate grievances and he initially promised a $400 refund (despite our loss being $1500) and then reneged and won't pick up phone calls nor return text messages. Both deserve to be shamed in the community and exposed for disgraceful fraud that they commit. read more

We just had my sister's wedding at this venue and our family was beyond impressed! Even though I've attended many events at this venue, I hardly recognized it for her wedding! They just put in new carpets and lighting which gave the hall a very regal feel. It is not easy setting up for 600+ guests but somehow they exceeded our expectations and set the halls in such a way that the guests didn't feel like they were cramped in. We were also very pleased with the service, in particular Shafee and Anna really went out of their way to accommodate our needs. I was in cleveland but Shafee bhai took care of everything.I didn't have to worry much about the party and the food.He accommodated everything I asked for and much more. From day one when we walked in we felt comfortable dealing with him and he was not pushy and we never felt he was trying to sell us anything. It was a pleasure working and we were so comfortable with him that we left everything on him from food arrangement to decorations. He assured us that he will make this event memorable one, so he did. We held an event here and worked with Shafi and Anna to make sure everything was done well. Unfortunately, almost every aspect of the event was executed poorly. The decor was mismatched (napkins/table clothes), the appetizers ran out, guests from an adjacent party came to our wedding and ate our food/dessert, and the room where the bride was getting ready was so poorly air-conditioned that the make-up artists had a difficult time keeping her make-up from melting off. All of this would have been bad enough but Shafi's attitude in remedying this situation was worse. I have never been so belittled and insulted in my life - and I am saying this as a Muslim during the 2016 presidential campaign. He mocked every complaint I made about his service. When addressing the other guests stealing our food, he asked if we expected him to hire police to investigate the matter. When I asked him to at least not charge us for the mismatched decor, he said he promised that he would not pay us a dime. When pushed, he said he would give us .49 for each mismatched napkin, if we wanted money so bad. When I reminded him that he promised us a refund for the bride's room because of the lack of air conditioning, he accused me of lying and told me to leave his office. I an assure you that we will never use this space again. I would never recommend their services to anyone. And I will also say that I am incredibly disappointed in the dishonesty exhibited by Shafi. I was very disappointed with the service provided. I would not recommend holding a major event at Bristol Palace Banquets. If I had to do it over again, I would NOT choose to have my cousin's wedding at this place. I feel cheated by the management. For more details, read on. We held our cousin's shaadi at Bristol Palace Banquets. We researched different places and after finding out this place was managed by a Muslim and reading the glowing reviews, we settled on this location. However, I'm now thinking those reviews were either paid for or were written by friends/family of the management. So many things went wrong behind the scenes. We were promised the larger room to get our bride ready, and we were given the smaller one. When confronted about this, Shafi claimed he never made this promise. The room itself was extremely hot. When told that the room was too hot for the bride's make up and hair to be set, management claimed that it was 60 degrees and that the other party wasn't complaining. Obviously, that was a lie and the other party WAS complaining. We specifically drove 45 min to the hall a week before the event to choose the napkins, and we matched the stage colors to the proposed napkin colors. It turns out that half of the napkins were the requested color and the others were 2 different shades of a dead gray color - so we had 3 different napkin colors. When confronted about this, Anna stated that the company sent them the napkins like this. Apparently, Anna didn't even bother opening the package until the day of the event and instead of calling us and letting us know about this, they tried to get away with it until we had them change it. The food, which we ordered through the banquet hall, was supposedly from Shahi Nihari. However, it looked undercooked (the chicken was pink on the inside) and there just wasn't enough of it. When we called Shahi Nihari after the shaadi, they said that Shafi told them to cook for 100 people - when we actually paid for 110. When confronted about this, Shafi said he told them 100 because caterers like round numbers. To top things off, they didn't give us the correct food that was left over. They didn't give us at least 3 of our dishes, and instead gave us 2 trays that didn't even belong to us. We suspect that our food may have been to the other event (a mehndi) that was happening at the same time as ours. The guests from the Mehndi were freely roaming into our shaadi. The kids and adults came in and took our cake and beverages, and two grown women even locked themselves in the bride's ready room. I understand that management can't control the uncivilized nature of other human beings, but if they knew that they had two events going on at the same time, they should have had someone in the lobby area to control the situation. Instead, my brother had to miss a large portion of the shaadi, to stand in the doorway and direct people to the correct rooms. As far as the place itself, the carpets are very obviously stained and dirty. Shafi told us these would be changed prior to our event - they weren't. The chair cushions were dirty and stained - when we tried to flip over one particularly disgusting cushion, we found a larger stain. When confronted with these issues, Shafi and Anna at first tried to pretend like they didn't exist, then tried to convince us that no one else experienced these problems, then they became aggressive and defensive. They gave a couple of half hearted, passive-voiced apologies. This duo is unprofessional and unprepared. In the end, this whole event was made of broken promises. I feel cheated and I feel like our money was stolen. You could perhaps write this off as one bad event - HOWEVER, the groom's side experienced similar things for the Valima a few days later. I REALLY don't want anyone to go through what we've gone through. We told Shafi we would be writing a bad review because we actually wanted to be honest with him - so here it is. I do NOT recommend Bristol Palace Banquets. Update: Apparently this review has been put in this website's "not recommended" reviews by it's "automated" system. Curious that a ton of negative reviews have been moved away so that the average rating for this place has gone up instead of down. I had my mehendi here in March 2015. Worked with Altaf Baig and his son Shafee. Figured out the logistics with Shafee and it was a pleasure working with him as he was very professional and accommodating. Visited the banquet hall multiple times to figure out the layout and setup, never had any issues before, during or after the event. In fact, the mehendi was phenomenal. The food catered by Bristol Palace was delicious and they even gave us an extra hour as our party started behind schedule. They have two bridal rooms, large enough for the bridal party to get ready in, and a balcony for some great shots before making your way down the staircase. Photos came out very elegant. Anna really worked with us and did a great job accommodating for all 300 of my employees as far as gluten free meals (which tasted delicious by the way) and offered up a variety of food to choose from. She also took the time to put together a whole menu that we could choose from and worked with us on the price. The service was excellent they met all my needs and took care of my employees. Had a great experience having my event here! Many of my family members have had their weddings/mehndis/ valimas here and recommended the hall to me for my special day. The hall was great and ready on time for me to have my photo shoot. Aside from the fantastic service from the staff Shafi went above and beyond to help me make sure things go as right as they could. He was able to accommodate my last minute changes without a problem. Aside from Shafi Anna was nice enough to let me use a few extra center pieces so that my head table could be decorated.
