Staff is friendly and courteous. Mostly eastern European but English is quite good. The bartender is awesome in the Fox (Manor), thank you :-)! The breakfast is not very good, to me that takes the fifth star away. The atmosphere is great, but the breakfast options are very limited, and even when ordering à la carte it is not good. I had the scrambled eggs and it was not only a very small portions but also just lovelessly thrown on a plate with a bit of lower grade smoked salmon. Didn't care for that. The bread selection does not include a high quality bread, and really the entire breakfast selections fits on a large table. The room was good, I was staying in a little townhouse with an upstairs and downstairs. I think it could fit and sleep up to four people with the king bed upstairs and what may be a pullout couch downstairs. It had a spacious bathroom and living area, and included a minibar and even actual ground coffee for an included french press. That alone almost made me realize I should come back as I am in the area often. Only thing that bothered me was that the front window is about 12 feet tall, and there is no way to close it and not have an outside light across the way from the courtyard shine into the bedroom area. Main house and yard are gorgeous, it seems to be a legit historic structure. I had arrived quite late with 1am and called ahead of time, they accommodated without a problem as the reception is staffed 24/7. Laundry was done well too, no problems with that. I didn't order room service this time but will update on that experience next time. The gym is great and they offer classes like spinning and probably others as well. There are tennis courts and a pool though it is not that big. But still at least as big as other hotel pools, its just not a full lap pool. The only drawback is that the facilities are not available 24/7. I understand the pool, but at least the gym should always be available. All in all a good option when flying in and out of Heathrow as it is only about a 25 minute drive.

So, on then to Foxhills and the first 7 seconds... You turn into the front gate and are greeted by beautifully landscaped grounds, through the trees you get a tantalising glimpse of the main house.. it looks old and historic and perfectly maintained, by the time you get to the front courtyard you are ready to take this place to bed... I might be taking the analogy too far but you get the idea. Happily the experience continues in this vein. .. the rooms are big, comfortable and well appointed, Wi-fi is strong and free, dinner was spectacular and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast didn't knock my socks off which was disappointing, but probably only because expectations were very high. It was perfectly fine, no real complaints. Check-out was likewise painless, I paid 170Stg for my room and breakfast which is a lot, but it didn't seem crazy for what was on offer in the end; overall a worthwhile stay.

Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturday nights are the best for comedy (the weekends showcase the more renowned comedians with the Banana Cabaret). On some evenings you don't even have to pay to listen to the bands and artists but the staff are pretty strict on keeping talking to the minimum which is absolutely fair enough. In between music, comedy and cabaret they also hold Swing Dance and Tango classes! A great excuse to head to South London. Oh, and ladies - the men always seem to be rather good looking in here!

The reception and concierge staff are warm, welcoming and extremely helpful, especially Enrico who bent over backwards to assist us with trip planning, making restaurant reservations and purchasing theatre tickets. We spent a lot of time in the bar area having tea or wine as it was well decorated and very cozy. The breakfast room was always bustling and service was top notch. You couldn't ask for more breakfast options or better service. The scrambled eggs were the best I've ever had!! The bedroom and bathroom were extremely clean and well appointed. There were numerous outlets to charge devices and L'Occitan toiletries in the bathroom. There are both stairs and a lift to the rooms. The Club is located around the corner from Pimlico road for easy access to restaurants and antique shops and Daylesford Organic, which is a brilliant place for lunch. Sloane Square and Kings Road are just up the road for more shopping and dinning options. It was quick and easy to get a taxi outside the Club both day and night. I don't think you would find a better place to stay in London. I highly recommend The Sloane Club and I cannot wait to return.
