I hired Marisa Nahale Esq to represent me in my divorce in October 2023. I did not "shop" around for a divorce attorney. I was referred by my co-worker who used Marisa's services for her divorce. Honestly, I thought my divorce would be a clean-cut and simple process, but it has been over a year and we're still going through it. When I first met Marisa, I didn't find her comforting or nice. She seemed cold and desensitized. Mind you this is my first divorce and I'm learning the system as I go along. It has also been an emotional time for me. I assumed this was the demeanor of most attorneys and decided to stick with it. I kept thinking the divorce is almost over, so I'll just stick with her. Good morning to the reader of this review, There are a few reasons for the poor review. During the first court date, my lawyer whom I had been talking to did not show up to court; I got a new lawyer the day of who had no background information on the case. In addition, I paid for all my divorce paperwork to be handled (not including litigation) and they forgot to file proof of service. Due to this, my divorce got extended and I had to hire a new lawyer. It's most certainly frustrating. The lack of accountability is particularly upsetting. I confronted the firm saying that I felt they were not giving me the proper time and attention. They told me to seek counsel elsewhere. I do not recommend the firm but do appreciate that they'd ask me to seek counsel elsewhere. Best of luck to anyone seeking this firm's services. read more

Marisa and her team are amazing. Divorce is such an emotional situation to go through and she was supportive yet lead with facts of how things can/usually go down. Office: VERY clean, welcoming/cozy, modern and if you have a little one you need to bring with you, they have toys and games that'll keep them busy. Phone Consult: When I was just considering the option of divorce, I had a lot of custody/alimony questions and had no idea where to begin. The lovely lady that answered the phone took my questions and answered what she could ( I felt immediately better just knowing what rights I did and did not have as a parent) eventually I decided to come in. Office Visit: Marisa was incredibly friendly and approachable. I felt like I had some of the stupidest questions or concerns and she took each one and explained all my options. After we went through all the paperwork she had everything ready to go the next day or so. Cost: Marisa explained each phase of payment so it was crystal clear the cost and at what point certain fees are due. I felt everything was reasonable and because she was so great when I came in, I didn't even bother to look around at other offices or compare retainer fees. My divorce was pretty simple, so it wasn't like her office would be making tons off my case. It was just a matter of drafting the paper work, filing it at the court, and waiting for it to be final. She didn't treat my case any less than others or ignore my emails. I came to see her some time in March 2017 and everything was finalized in September 2017. I have random questions from time to time (like today April 2018) about amending certain things or clarification needed (since my child needs change as he gets older) and she will respond via email the same day. He did it so intelligently, so that when he was speaking everyone in the room could notice and feel the confidence in his voice, the knowledge he had in this area, and even the Judge seemed astonished few times on how good he is. He was fully aware of the atmosphere in the room, the other party's temperature, how they will approach the case, it seemed he knew what the other party will ask and do ahead of them. It made me feel so calm, so confident, so happy, I had a lawyer by me who is simply the best in his field. We won the case, and we won it pretty well, as he handled it so well, being so professional, well spoken, knowledgeable, and well prepared.
