Good driving range. Closeness to the main road and AVL flight path is the only minor downside, but otherwise fine.

This is a pretty good golf course. I've read some negative reviews, but they must have been from a while back. The course is in good shape. Had some good rain the day before and the greens were pretty soft. You could really attack the pin, which is much different than the course I normally play in Atlanta. The starter was really nice and informative. They were behind, as we had an 8:40 tee time, but didn't get started until 9:55. But the course opened up as we got past the first few holes. It's also cool to see the planes coming in to the airport, which is right across the street. Had a 737 come a few hundred feet over our heads on the 6th green. Definitely recommend this course and look forward to playing it again. read more

Poor customer service. I mistakenly booked the wrong day on golf now. Rick in the golf shop explained i would have to contact golf now for any type of refund. I totally understood and just asked if golf now contacted them if they could verify i did not come to my original tee time. Sure enough Golf now called Ric (30 minutes later) to verify i missed my tee time the day before and Ric proceeded to say he could not confirm i missed, even though his own records showed i did not show up. Rick purposely tried to sabotage my refund from Golf now!!!! Not only is Rick really bad at customer service he is also a pretty crappy person. He also totally turned off a weekly local golfer to Broadmoor and the rest of my group. None of us will return until Rick is gone read more

This is a good public golf course with a nice clubhouse. It also has a driving range that is acceptable (and hard to find in the Asheville area). It's on low land near the airport, so if it has rained recently, the course will be unplayable. read more

So I don't give out 5 stars often. Due to the fact I grew up playing on some of North Carolina's best courses I can't give 5 stars here because there ar a couple design flaws. For instance, on the front nine there are two holes where the cart path is rough and tumble and built on the side of the hole with water meaning a shot slightly too long becomes a penalty. Also, here is a par 5, 12 I think that has to be played laid up, or a perfect, and I mean perfect drive because the cart path is on the pond side of the hole. Other than that it's great! I play it at least once every time I'm in Aaheville. Greens are fast as lightning and will hold a pin seeking player to their mark. Carts and facilities are in great shape, food is good and if you're not using GolfNow they are friendly. Lol, just kidding! read more

The course is in good shape and there is a grass driving range. For that it gets two stars. The course is flat and uninteresting. Almost every hole has water, forcing every player to hit the same shot over and over again. No room for creativity or thinking. This was a really boring course to play. read more

Positives: Course - The greens were in good condition and were rolling fairly consistently. The greens were large and easy to hit. The sand traps were well placed and were in great shape. The layout was challenging and there were various blind tee shots that could use better staking to provide first time visitors with aiming points. Staff - The young lady working the register and phones was pleasant and friendly. Building and grounds - Plenty of parking and the facility was clean. Negatives: Course - The tee boxes on approximately six holes were not level and had not been rotated to allow for divots to heal. The fairways (40%) are littered with dead spots, fungus, weeds, and washout areas. The rough is hard pan, some grass, and mainly weeds. There were stumps from dead trees on several holes signifying previous storm damage that need to be removed or ground down for safety reasons. Staff - The young man working the cart barn failed to greet or welcome guests. He just keep pulling carts up and hastily ran back to get more. The starter named Dick was brash and abrasive. He failed to greet players, ask key questions, and act as a guide or course ambassador. It seemed as it was a chore or inconvenience for him to check people in. He patrolled the course once on the back nine and was equally as pretentious and didn't want to be bothered. Recommendations - Invest in the Superintendents budget to actively fight the fungus and weeds, support scheduled maintenance functions, and remove tree stumps around the course. Provide staff with remedial training and invest in a positive culture and experience for guests. I understand there may be mitigating circumstances with COVID-19 that may have led to the conditions and staffing concerns. Thank you. read more

Broadmoor is one of my favorite courses to play in the Asheville area. It has a links style that you can't really find around here. The course is usually in excellent condition, especially the greens. The clubhouse also has a nice little bar and they have started serving food recently so you can grab lunch and a drink after you play. The driving range is excellent as well. read more

I've played the course several times and been to the practice area many more times. The practice area is very nice... Range, chipping area, sand trap and putting greens. No lights though, so need to go during daylight hours. The course is very flat, especially for Western NC. Different tee boxes accommodate different skill levels. I agree with a previous reviewer that hole #12 is a very frustrating rating hole... a left hand dog leg over water followed by a right hand dog leg to a postage stamp green over water with a very small layup area. Other than that, the course is pretty playable. The main downside is that it gets really busy (compared to other courses in the area) at peak times. I've noticed the quality of the fairways and greens improve over the last 1-2 years, which has been noted as a problem in the past. read more

Always been a fan of this course, but today I was charged 30 dollars to walk nine holes at 4pm. Not only that but the staff inside was less than friendly...letting me know it costs the same to walk or ride and only nine holes was open. So the course is slam packed, greens have just been sanded and I'm wondering why in the world this is one of the most expensive golf courses in Asheville? If you want to make the game more accessible to kids and different ethnicities maybe think about bringing that absurd price down...or maybe work on basic customer service in the Pro Shop. read more

We played Broadmore golf links in Asheville for the first time today. We were very surprised with the excellent condition of the tees and greens. The fairways were a bit spotty but considering the drought conditions they have been having they were also surprisingly good. The only draw back is that the sand traps could have used a little more sand in them. I know, I know, stay out of the trap. We will definitely be back to play again. read more

The course seems to be really declining. It wasn't that long ago that you couldn't get on here with either jeans or a t-shirt, now it seems to be the required uniform. Fairways are not in very good shape, nor have they been for some time. Rangers are very rare. read more

Along with our new family in Asheville, we recently participated in hosting our son and daughter-in-law's wedding reception at Broadmoor. The entire event was beautiful! Paula and her staff worked individually with the bride and her family to make this venue the special setting she envisioned! We were totally supported with every request and Paula was there for the entire evening to make sure everything was seamless! I fully recommend Broadmoor for special events, including wedding receptions! It is a beautiful setting , the food was scrumptious, and the outdoor covered veranda was so great for easy, relaxed gatherings. Golf course was beautiful. But the person that grills outside was very rude and complained to the pro shop on July 4th because he couldn't get a tee time. His language was awful using cuss words not very professional. I order a burger off the grill and it wasn't that great and the person who was grilling outside wasn't very sanitary. read more

This might be one of the worst courses I have ever played. The fairways were nothing but dirt and dead grass. I wish that the pro-shop would have warned us before we paid, that would have been the right thing to do. I wouldn't pay 2 dollars to play 9 more out there, much less the $24 for the 9holes i suffered through. All that said, the greens were actually in pretty decent shape, you just have to play through dirt fairways to get there. read more
