It's very hard to get a good portrait of her to share with family and friends. Gary was so kind and patient and made her feel comfortable. He worked so hard to get the lighting just right so it wouldn't bother her eyes. We did family and individual portraits. The portraits came out beautiful and we all had a great time doing it. Our experience with Silva & Silva was excellent…read more  During the lead up to our wedding, Gary was always very prompt to reply to our inquiries and always seemed genuinely happy to hear from us - his enthusiasm made us feel good about our choice of photographer from the very beginning. We decided to book Silva & Silva for 2 hours prior to the ceremony and also for the ceremony itself. On the day of the wedding, Gary arrived on time, ready to go. He respected our time and our schedule and didn't waste a second of it. Some members of our wedding party were not quite ready when Gary arrived, but he took this in stride and made sure to get plenty of shots of everyone who was ready. He was patient with us and made everyone feel comfortable and happy - he's great at getting a smile! During the ceremony and reception, Gary was always in the  right place at the right time. He made sure to get all the "classic" shots as well as numerous candids. He was unobtrusive and never got in the way - very impressive given the relatively packed house we had. My husband usually hates taking pictures, because they make him feel uncomfortable, however, Julie somehow found a way to capture the softer side of him, and now I have these incredibly sweet pictures of him playing with our two kids that are priceless. Anne photographed my children in her studio and on location. The location she chose was an orchard, which made for such a stunning backdrop. I have a new, beautiful piece of art hanging above my fireplace for all to see. I have received so many compliments. Anne has an expert eye and great creativity for photography. With Anne, YOU WILL NOT GET AN AVERAGE PORTRAIT. She is constantly coming up with new ideas and keeping up with the latest technology and trends. My only complaint,.......her photos are TOO GOOD. My concern is that I don't get the sense this business stands by their work. Our wedding album is absolutely falling apart and I have called and left several messages but have never heard back. It has been a month since my first call. We're interested in getting a new book for the photos we have, and because money was tight when we got married, we'd love to see the prints (if they still have them, we don't know - this was pre-digital photography) and maybe get some more, particularly some that may exist of people who have since passed. I am frustrated with the lack of response. Good photos are one thing, but standing by your work long term and having the courtesy to return calls is an important part of doing business.

A few (and really, only a few) of the pictures were a little cheesy, but other than that they turned out great. His assistant's pictures also were fabulous and captured the light very beautifully. Between the two of them we ended up with tons of pictures that we were in love with. He is very easy to work with and has been in the business a long time. He is always very punctual and respectful of any personal requests. Our band at the reception, who was supposed to help MC, was a bit new and didn't quite keep things moving along, so Cary jumped in and got the ball rolling when it needed to, for which I was SO appreciative. He also wasn't super "in-your-face" during the reception, just involved enough to get his job done well while respecting us so we could enjoy our special day.
