He said that he would not charge me because ICBC would be changing its policy within the next couple of days; the policy change would be that vehicle owners would get free windshield repairs if they have comprehensive coverage. Even though that new policy was not yet in effect, Ron went ahead and fixed my windshield for free ;) I am super appreciative! The young man who fixed my windshield was also kind and amiable :) I will go back if I need another wind shield fix or replacement.

Turns out I followed my cousin referral and used my gut instinct. They were great at Tom Thompson! Brendan returned my calls within minutes and guuded me through the process smoothly. I even showed up late and they took me anyway. They gave me a courtesy car and estimated duration. I emailed to make an appointment, and let them know my pretty tight schedule, and even though I'm sure summer is so bonkers, they managed to get me in within the week. The girl on the phone was kind and professional, as well as the owner was great with responding to my emails quickly, to book me in a spot that would work with my schedule limitations. I get a mini detail, which is only $140 for my sized car. (Other places quoted me $240-$350 in the past.) They said about 2-3 hours, and it was literally done in just over 2 hours, and it looks great! Windows, door jams, carpets, seats.... Spotless! I'll never go anywhere else. Especially being a female, a lot of places have tried to tell me I needed extra stuff I don't need. These guys are honest, kind, good prices, and good service. Their location is also super convenient for me, less than a 10min walk to Gilmore Skytrain Station, so I can go get other errands done while I'm waiting for my car. They were incredibly thorough and transparent from the beginning. They inspected the entire car, provided photos and test results, and clearly explained what they found. They also took the time to distinguish between things that were urgent, things that should be dealt with soon, and things that were worn but could safely wait. At no point did I feel pressured into unnecessary repairs. They discovered several issues with my car that I hadn't previously been made aware of, including some that actually need urgent attention. They also properly diagnosed my A/C compressor as seized and that I had a leak. Every question I had was answered patiently and respectfully, and I finally felt like I actually understood what was happening with my car. The customer service was also above and beyond anything I expected. They actually drove me home while they worked on my car and then came back and picked me up when it was ready. That was incredibly helpful and genuinely meant a lot to me. Finding a mechanic you feel like you can trust is such a relief, especially when you don't know much about cars. I never felt talked down to for asking questions, and I really appreciated how honest they were about what actually needed to be done versus what could wait. They were kind, helpful, thorough and incredibly accommodating. After this experience, I finally feel like I have a clear picture of what my car actually needs and can make informed decisions about the repairs. I can't recommend them enough.
