Last year, we signed up for our first combo tour: Alcatraz + Haight walking tour. Due to the 2018 fires, our SF trip was severely affected, including the cancellation of the Alcatraz portion. The walking tour was still made available at our own risk given the horrible air quality, but SF on Tap staff were very flexible, refunded our Alcatraz portion, and still conducted a great walking tour led by Lina. The history we learned, the beer knowledge, and the breweries we visited was fantastic. By the end of the tour, our little group was happy, tipsy, and chatty. It was a great first experience! So this year, we went back to San Francisco and did the Alcatraz + Fisherman's Wharf walking tour. Weather was fantastic this time, and the process for getting our tickets plus the actual day of activites was seamless. Prepare for a long day of walking if you do the combo tour. Dress comfortably and wear very comfy shoes. We did the Alcatraz audio tour, which helps you cover the main portions of the site, but there is definitely more to explore, so don't anticipate being able to do it all when you have to be back on shore with time to spare for lunch plus arriving for the 2pm beer tour. So....plan your morning accordingly. After Alcatraz, we had lunch at Boudin at Pier 39 then took a 5min Lyft ride to Ghirardelli Square for the start of our Fisherman's Wharf beer tour. Our guide was Dylan. Dylan did a great job and took us on quite an adventure through Fisherman's Wharf and Little Italy area. Although the beers on this particular tour were not my favorite (except for the barley wine and sour at the end!), I appreciated deepening my knowledge of the neighborhood and of course....brewing! I also love the intimate nature of the tour, like when we get to the breweries / pubs, and there is already dedicated space for us to sit, enjoy, learn, and drink! Dylan did his best to personalize our beer options to our tastes, so that was much appreciated. At the end of the tour, Dylan provided some fantastic dinner recommendations, since the tours end by 6pm. Trust me, you will be hungry! Both Lina and Dylan provided us with memorable craft beer experiences. My boyfriend and I look forward to going 3 for 3 and doing the SoMA walking tour next year! We are true SF on Tap fans!! You won't regret booking with SF on Tap, especially if you want a personalized craft beer experience and want to learn about the city's rich history and the details of brewing.

The music was cool (very house), but a little beyond blaring at times, they eventually adjusted it - there's nightclub great and there's I need ear plugs just to enjoy myself/adjust - might just be my more laidback mellow nature. Being a big event I purchase a ticket online weeks in advance when planning my weekend in SF - not too many people were as familiar with F8 in my circle of friends including locals, my boyfriend (who lived in the area for years before moving to LA - and frequent visitor) definitely hadn't heard of it and having a solo outing to myself I went in with an open mind and Saturday Night fever. Drinks were good - good alternatives to cocktails also - Golden State Cider was my friend instantly along with their RUM PUNCH via the Craft/Signature Cocktails they offer. Lighting is very clubhouse scene meets lounge fun but give your eyes a second to adjust - can be more bright and colorful during their EDM, Dance Wave. Luckily I ran into my new friend Justin visiting from Arizona and spent the rest of the night getting to know him better, both of us only stayed for I think two hours, enjoyed the drinks - bartenders were nice (hard to hear at times), DJ was pretty dope well - the one in the main room especially There's a small, more intimate dance floor with another DJ, which I hung out in for a little before it got a little tight to move around. Didn't want to get trapped in the dance stew for too long. Awesome energy. Restrooms were decent and easy to access - the lines were never too long. The private lounge typically reserved for private parties was open for the event night - mingle with several people here and unwound finishing my last drink - it was nice after some dancing and whatnot. The coat/clothing/item check is just before this room - depending on what you're checking the price might vary - since I put my items in my drawstring bag and my vest they gave me the bag check price (only $5 compared to I wanna say 2 to 3 dollars). Hold onto that number or take a picture of it because you will need to verify when you're ready to leave. Updates to F8's space: "F8 seeks to maintain a safe and inclusive space for all, especially the QTBIPOC folks in our dance community. We have zero tolerance for harassment of any kind--sexual, physical, and verbal, including expressions of racism, misogyny, and bigotry. If you are a victim of such behavior, please notify any member of f8's staff who will take immediate action." Looking at upcoming non-third party fun, the Run It Back: Underground Showcase night seems like a fun event - free with RSVP until 11p plus complimentary champagne from 9p to 10p - cheers to this. Not always a cover night or event, but definitely keep an eye on their calendar for your dance club experience. Also, a venue for all sorts of parties and occasions - submit and inquiry and expect a timely response. Party hardy, drink not necessarily Bacardi, enjoy responsibly, and of course dance like no one's watching ;)

Arrived at 5:30 and was surprised when I saw a small but decent amount of folks here. When I approached the bar and got my first drink, I understood why folks were there so early....the drinks were a buck! Such a steal and great way to get folks in. The concept of battle of the decades is great too! Each hour is a different decade of music, starting with the 60's. I spent a few hours dancing from 60's-80's music until about 8pm (perfect for an old millennial like me) until the place filled up. Totally great night at Monroe. Cheap drink specials, great music, and I was able to get in bed by 8:30pm. I'll definitely be back again.

Located on Broadway in North Beach, it's always high energy and popping, but I've never had any issues getting in. Also love that there's no cover charge for women, so I can just enjoy the night with my friends here without having to pay the equivalent price of a drink before I've even stepped inside. Even with the club frequently packed, especially the later in the night you go, I find the facilities pretty clean compared to many other similar lounges. It's also conveniently located near late night pizza and crêpe eateries that are still open after Monroe closes for the win, which makes it an all-around no brainer to choose going here versus other venues.

There was no long line, and I got in pretty quickly. The inside was pretty normal, you got the stage, bar in the back, and the upstairs level, but they closed out a good amount of it, which made sense since I think it was going to be a pretty smaller crowd. We got some drinks and were waiting for the music to pick up, and it indeed picked up! Great music, great old school throwbacks, and the people were rolling in. Ended up coming down to dance for a bit, and got another drink, but overall, I felt it was a great 2 hours of hanging and dancing, and the crowd was vibing too!
