We had x-rays taken, then we were taken to the back room. The dental assistant was great and did well with my son. The new dentist who I was meeting for the first time, Dr. Vy Tran entered the room. Dr. Tran did not introduce herself and immediately asked my son "who's those people?" and pointed at me and husband. My son said "that's my mom and dad" and Dr. Tran said "should we make them leave?" My son said "no". She said "are you sure we shouldn't make them leave"? As I was looking at my son's face he was very uncomfortable and she was very persistent on making us leave the room, we did not. She asked me if I had any questions, I asked about a previous injury to my son's front tooth and she was sarcastic and rude with her answer's. She started feeling around in his mouth and he told her that she was hurting him and she dismissed his feelings and she said he's not in pain as she put both of her fingers into his mouth and started pushing in his mouth. She told us that my son had a small cavity in the back left side and told me he needed a filling. She told us that the only way she can work on my son is to put him to sleep, I asked is there any other way instead of putting him to sleep, as I did not agree with that and I stated that my other child had a filling procedure with the dentist before her and was not put to sleep. She was very persistent and pushy on wanting to my six year old to be put to sleep. She told me that if I wasn't going agree on the way she does things, she stated that I can go somewhere else. So I told my son to get up and we left the back room. I talked to the front receptionist and expressed my feeling and my experience with her and they told me that she is their new dentist and I told them I will not be coming back and will have to find a new dentist. I have never had a bad experience with this dental office. I'm very offended and disgusted with the way Dr. Tran talked to me and how she treated my son. My son does very well with the dentist and has never had any issues. She made him very uncomfortable and now he is not happy going to the dentist, she has ruined that experience for him. I would be cautious of this Dr/Dentist wanting to be alone with your children. it's weird and unprofessional!

Once inside, you can tell they have put a lot of thought into making the office a fun and inviting place for kids. From the aquarium and the kids' "submarine" to the surf motif in the cleaning and x-ray area, the feeling is bright and cheerful. The hygienists are very good with the kids. They are kind and patient (Even when my 8 year old was complaining about the x-rays), and take the time to explain everything to the kids. When my son had to have multiple extractions, they kept him calm and made the whole process both painless and un-stressful. Dr. Anderson is everything the hygienists are and then some. They frequently sent us bills for things that they should have been billing to our insurance, and it was a hassle to get it all straightened out. The final straw came one morning when I had an appointment at 8:00 am. I was running a little bit behind that day. I got a call at about 8:05 asking if I was coming in. I told her that yes, I was on my way. She said "But will you be here by 8:15? Because if you are here after that, they will have cancelled your appointment, and they will still charge you for it." Unfortunately, I stopped taking my children here because of the horrible front desk service I received mid 2022. What happened was one of my younger babies needed to be sedated for some work. I paid the 100 deposit needed for the anesthesiologist. Well they have a certain time threshold if you want to cancel or reschedule which means you forfeit the deposit if you don't do it within the time. As all parents know we have no idea when our kids will get sick. And my little one got sick, as soon as I noticed the first symptom, fever, I called them but they were closed, over the weekend as well. So on Monday I called them. And the person I spoke with, who sounded like they were really young said the deposit would be kept, i asked politely to speak with a supervisor. The girl that came on the phone also sounded very young and they were closed off, not understanding and not really wanting to listen to what I was saying. It was very rude. I tried to remain calm while they just restated that my deposit would be forfeited. And I should have called I explained that I had no way of knowing my kid would get sick, I tried calling and they were closed, finally when asking for some else they said the office manager wasn't available, I said I would wait for them on the line, they offered a call back. The office manager didn't call back just the 2nd girl I spoke with and she wouldn't pass the phone to the office manager just saying that the I would have to bring in my sick doctor to prove she was really sick. At this point I was upset and said you want me to take my feverish kid to the dentist at 6am? They said yes so finally I said yes but I wanted my deposit refunded. I woke my baby up at 6am and took her. The office people were very rude when seeing me. But I saw the anesthiologist and when he saw me with my daughter he chuckled at the fact that they made me bring her in while sick so he could see her. He did say yes she is sick she shouldnt be seen today. I left, they never refunded the 100 dollar deposit and when I called and asked about it, I finally said I wanted Dr. Wade to call me so I could speak to him. Seeing as they were being very rude. He never called me. I cut my losses and never went back but fast forward almost 3 years later they just sent me an obscure bill for 325 dollars with no details for the services provided. The administration at this office is the most unprofessional I've ever encountered. Their lack of compassion for my situation and my sick kid, their rudeness, disrespect during conversation is the very last thing any parent wants on top of dealing with a sick baby. And the fact that they are sending a bill so many years later shows the office is also lacking in paperwork and billing skills. PLEASE reconsider taking your kids to this office. I now take my children to Christensen Pediatric. The front office is lovely to work with. I was so upset by this situation that when a similar situation happened with Christensen Pediatric I was apologizing profusely because they were closed Fridays, and couldn't reach them until Monday, they said don't worry about the deposit we know things happen with kids. It was such a sigh of relief. Dr. Christensen is very fast efficient and caring with my kids also.

They had my son in and out of his braces in 6 months, before we relocated out of state! The billing practices of this office is where they fell flat off the five star rating and into a one star. I mentioned my son was treated for 6 months, however they bill the insurance for an 18 month treatment plan. I was very upfront with the office at the time of treatment that we would be switching dental insurance, and they insisted that as long as my insurer accepted a treatment in progress, there would be no issues. My son's out of pocket expenses were paid upfront and with the insurance change there was a slight adjustment and a small balance due of about $88, sort of annoying, but I paid it. What was huge, was the call a year or so later to let me know that I have a balance of $340 due. I called several times throughout the year to check on my balance with the office until it was confirmed that I had nothing due (we had other treatment plans in addition to my son's). So I am sure anyone in my position can understand my shock at the suddenly due balance, and the explanation I received on this new balance is without a doubt the most obscure billing policy I have ever heard of and experienced. Insurer's have a contracted rate they have promised to pay, so as a medical provider, if you accept this particular insurance, you have agreed to this contracted rate as payment. My initial insurer had a contracted rate that was higher than the contracted rate the insurer's that took over; keep in mind that this office accepts both insurer's rates. This office has chosen to continue to bill at the higher rate, rather than the contracted rate of the second insurer. Here's the kicker, had I just waited on treatment and waited until my new, lower paying, insurance kicked in, I'd owe nothing at this point but, because the second insurer came into the picture after the fact, the office will not adjust what they are charging to the new contracted rate. They are instead charging at the higher, initial, insurer rate and jilting me with the balance. They were deceivingly dishonest about this billing practice. So if you find yourself in a potentially similar position, perhaps it may be best to wait or go to a different provider, but certainly do not ask the staff because they'll only tell you that as long as the new insurer accepts a treatment plan in progress, you will be fine; which take it from me- is definitely not the case.

I could not recommend Dr Dawson more highly. He was amazing with our daughter since the first time…read morewe saw him was when she fell and broke her tooth a year ago. He worked her in that morning despite her being a brand new patient. He even called the next evening at 7 to check on her. I got an infection in the crowned tooth and put on antibiotics. Unfortunately infections like that can get into the blood stream and affect the baby. Did the office care? Nope they did not. They couldn't work me in sooner even after telling them the pain has been so bad I haven't been able to eat or sleep for days because of the crown they put in causing an infection. The only person who seemed to care at all was the actual dentist but the front staff is horrible and doesn't even talk to the dentist they just tell you sorry can't help you.
