Do not use this company! They way over charge and then can't provide itemized invoices for their bogus charges. Go to the Consumer Protection Agency (Better Business Bureau) and read the complaints that have been filed against them. If you can't access the complaints online call the CPA office and they will help you access them. Do your homework! Don't get screwed like I did!! We had to pre-pay $488 to have a technician come out to service our generator. We had to call multiple times to finally schedule the original technician to come out and when he did, he did not have the parts to service the generator, despite us giving the exact type of generator with pictures ahead of time. We then had to call multiple times again to schedule a second visit, which took 15 minutes for the technician to diagnose that the generator was dead. The technician told us he was only putting in for 15 minutes of work. We then immediately received an invoice for $366 for that work including $166 for 1 hr of service work. We still have not received the refund for the difference and have requested multiple times to provide information on this. My husband had to take off work 2 days to deal with this. The company is seriously teetering on being fraudulent. We are considering making a formal complaint. Please do NOT use Brook Field for your generator needs. read more

Do not use this company. I had a tech out to service a generator. When he arrived, I turned it on to demonstrate the problem, but I wasn't able to reproduce it, so there was nothing for the tech to do, and indeed no services were rendered. My generator is under warranty, which covers travel. Still, I received a bill for travel, and for services that were not performed. I called Brookfield to explain, and they responded by saying they spoke with the tech and that he had serviced the generator before I walked out of my house. This is simply a lie; I met him when he arrived and was with him the whole time he was there. I'm troubled by the apparent dishonesty of this company and would strongly recommend you look elsewhere for service. read more

They were the only company that I could get to come out in a reasonable amount of time. The service technician was friendly and seemed to know his stuff. I thought the price was a bit much but they don't seem to have very strong competition. We will see how the generator works over time. read more

We were referred to Brook Field by Kohler to install a new Kohler generator. Team was knowledgable, professional, and detailed. There was a lot of special work needed due to our location. They stayed with the project and sorted out details, including working with our propane service. Very friendly and helpful, too. read more

Very poor follow up. Very poor communication between myself and employees and between employees . Did not honor the contract. After spending 1000s with them I had to hire another company to do the maintenance. Poor install with failure of the generator because of install and another time a short in the wiring. Does not return emails or calls. Avoid at all costs. read more

These guys service my lp automatic generator annually. Tuesday I noticed a red light not the necessary green light on my generator. We were expecting a high wind w/ heavy wet snow storm late that night!! I called Brook field at 3:40 pm. most of their techs were headed back to their shop in northfield but they'd send someone out to take a look at what seemed to be a faulty battery on my generator in Cambridge (55 miles) Sure enough through heavy snow, wind, then freezing rain their tech arrived just at 7 pm. He quickly and efficiently diagnosed the problem fixed it and very kindly showed me what to do in the future if it happened again. Very nice tech. I sent him on his way w/ fresh baked cookies. The storm hit in full (scary) force that evening and my generator worked perfectly!!! Thank you Brook Field Services!! read more

When our off grid system was installed they were great. Did a very professional job and a warranted issue happened they were very responsive to make the repairs. Now however we are very capable of repair and maintenance service so we have taken on that responsibility. We were in need of a replacement part. Called to check for availability of part. 3 hrs later and 3 phone calls later still no call back to let us know if they have the part in stock. It is an hour and a half drive to their office. Finally found a place 2 hrs away and 1 phone call found part in stock. Customer service definitely needs drastic improvement read more

Did business with them to stay local. Sale was not a problem. Installation of standalone generator good and crew was good. Just need more time explaining system to new owners. After sales service leaves much to be desired. Questions ignored when e mails sent. Not given manuals or checklists. Not told that system needs oil change after 5 hours, manual would have helped. Cost of oil change $150. Lots of excuses, but how does that help? Would not recommend on customer service after the sale. read more

Jim from Brookfield came out to view the site, arrived an hour late (I think he decided to make a service call in Claremont first), took some notes, said he'd get back to me, and I never heard from him or Brookfield again.
