Characters walk by for photo ops and entertainment while you wait in line. NYPD staff is so fun and friendly. The house is for ages 12 and older, they allow younger ages at the parent's discretion. It so well done with jump scares in almost every room. It feels like a safe outing. Hours this year are 5pm to 11pm from Friday to Sunday. They let you in in small groups so you don't feel rushed. At the end, they sell Halloween themed souvenirs with NYPD and Fort Totten on them. I bought a Tshirt to support such an awesome event which is FREE to the community. We loved it and appreciated it!

Situated across from the school, this corner house/yard turned into a haunted experience will blow you away. You can tell a lot has gone into this and they put so much effort into the experience. The best part is that it's free! Yes, no admission fee BUT they do accept donations that they turn around and give to a good charity. Not to take away from the experience and give out the secrets, it's best to see for yourself. You will be happy to experience this. FYI: Parking is located across the street in the school lot.

We had a few very weird occurrences happen throughout the night, most notably in the attic and basement, both of which gave off insanely heavy vibes. The staff is amazing as is the old mansion itself, which has been through a myriad of architectural changes throughout the decades. We will definitely be back for a day tour! These events change often so I want to point out this was a 2017 visit…read more Nightmare at Gravity hill is a 30-minute walkthrough spread out over 5 acres of land and incorporates numerous scenes/settings, all very well done.  We came across an absolutely hauntingly beautiful lake scene that incorporated someone swimming under the lake - potentially one of my all-time favorite effects so far!  On the property we walked into a movie theater scene which was incredibly well done.  At one point we encountered a hallway where there was a strobing light, and, in the distance,  you could see someone, who suddenly got closer and closer and closer!  In a scene that was very western town in nature, we came across a tall, dark and gruesome friend (he didn't speak though).  There was a bloody hospital setting and a prison setting too.  The bouncy ground and birth canals were also very well done.  Overall there was an abundance of actors, lots of jumping out scares, a lot of attention to detail, and we even ran into and got to speak to the owners - super nice people!  Well done, Gravity Hill!

So I took a trip down to the Field of Terror... located in the middle of nowhere in East Windsor, NJ. There isn't an actual parking lot- you're going to have to park your car in the middle of a field, but there are parking attendants to guide you. And yes, it's free! Luckily the lot is right near the farm so don't worry about walking too far. You can purchase your tickets online or once you get there. I came on a Thursday night 10/24 and there were no lines at all. There's a couple of ticket options depending on how many haunted attractions you want to do. There are 5 in total: Haunted Hayride, Kornfield Maze, Karnival, Timmery Manor, Paintball Wagon Ride. One attraction = $20 Two attractions = $35 Three attractions = $45 Four attractions = $50 Five attractions = $65 We didn't have much time so we only did one attraction, the Haunted Hayride. There was no wait at all, so we were able to get on right away. The entire attraction lasted about 15 minutes. I don't want to spoil anything.... but it was enjoyable. However, coming from someone who is the biggest scaredy cat, I wasn't SUPER spooked... so see for yourself. The farm itself is small and easy to navigate. All of the attractions are close to one another. There were actors walking around and I definitely got a couple of jump scares LOL. They have food stands available at very reasonable prices (mostly carnival/fair-themed food like burgers, fries, funnel cake, hot dogs). Plenty of seating to enjoy your food. There's a merchandise store with cute apparel and goodies. They also have a farmer's market selling some of their produce. So this is by no means a bad review, however, there was just not enough actors to deliver scares. The sets were fantastic, using all the standard fare that all the great places use. That being said, again, just not enough actors within the haunt. We walked through several scenes without seeing an actor. For the price of the tickets (which are on par with much larger places like Penhurst Asylum and East State Penitentiary) Hotel of Horror just does not stack up with the big boys. Would we return? Probably not, for the money, would most likely return to one of the big boys!!!
