So Bane has been on my radar for a while now but I only had the chance to go on Blackout night which I'm bummed about because the lights were off and I couldn't really get a good feeling for the scenes. However for what I did see, Bane knocked it out of the water. The actors were top notch and really played up their characters. The environment was crazy immersive and scary. We watched the Mercy TV count rise as we stood in line and it totally freaked us all out. Once inside, we can hear people screaming from the rooms next to us and it was a cool feeling all around. I'm suped to come back next year and check out Bane with full lighting and I'm excited about their events to come. Oh and yes, people actually get to the front door and yell Mercy, two of my friends chickened out before they even opened the door for us to go in! Good scary job Bane! read more

Haunted houses are a fun fall activity. I went to Bane Haunted House with a couple of friends to check it off my list of fall activities. We purchased our tickets online in advance, and got to the site pretty easily. We got on line and read the posted rules before walking into the attraction. The attraction itself is pretty creative, with a few things I haven't seen in other haunted houses. But the quitter counter, which displayed the number of guests who quit in fear, made it seem scarier than it actually was. It was honestly a bit too dark in there to see the costumes/makeup of the actors. The majority of the scares were jump scares. read more

Wow! This haunted house is literally CRAZY. You actually feel as if you are the star in a horror flick... from the props to the actors, everything was perfect. I have been to a couple of haunted houses and this one takes first place and there is no close second!!! You will get SCARED... regardless to how old/mature you are!!! My boyfriend and I got VIP tickets, and while waiting on the line to check-in, we saw people quitting within like 15 seconds of entering!! The check in process was quick, especially if you have the VIP tickets... I would suggest getting VIP tickets over general admission. This place gets packed, and I could only imagine how it will be as it gets closer to Halloween. This is THE PLACE TO VISIT to get your Halloween festivities started! This was my first time visiting a haunted house and let me tell you it was INSANE!!-good insane. ***DISCLAIMER*** they WILL touch you and say some things that can be mean but it's all in good scary fun so don't be scared! Okay so boom-I'm waiting on line with my little brother (little dude is 12 and tackled this place!) and we notice there's an active counter that shows you how many "quitters" there have been so far in the year AND that night. When I got there it was at 26. It soon went up to 32 which kind of got us all anticipating what's really behind those doors? We also heard people screaming, so needless to say I was PUMPED but also scared. Once we got to the front we were asked a few questions and went over some rules, they are VERY strict about their rules guys so pay attention and follow them! Once inside...boyyyyy. I don't want to ruin it for you but just know that if jump scares get you easily, then RIP you. The acting? Phenomenal. The scares? Outstanding. The length of it all? Perfect. The anticipation while on line kept building and building with every distant scream we heard. Then as we were approaching the fri t of the line we got to see all the quiters ( scarred people that wanted out by calling out the safe word). Once inside most of the maze was in pure darkness. So the unknown was lurking right in front of us, following us, props were everywhere. You had to crawl, slide, climb over, then directed to spinning action, lineup against a wall, placed in confined areas, pressed against a wall, I'm telling you we had fun!!! Nothing like we expected, it was so unexpected that we were telling all our friends they must try it. I was glad I made it through, with some much creepy props I hate felt so real in the dark. Four start was for not having crowd participation while on line. At this point turning off the lights would be ideal. Some grossly mummies walking through the lines would have entertained us. As a huge fan of Haunted Attractions, I decided to give it a try. So a lady friend and I arrived at just 9:00 pm (place wasn't too busy on (10/5/18). After being wanned with A Metal Detector (security is appreciated!), into the building we go! At the time of arriving 37 people had already quit the attraction after starting! So, when their website says you will be touched and separated from your group, they mean it. Separations can happen multiple times and at any moment. It will get pitch black at moments. You will be asked to do slightly embarrassing things lol! If your claustrophobic, beware, especially during the last scare of the night! Took about 40 minutes to complete. Although I consider myself a well traveled haunted attraction enthusiast, there were some twist and firsts that made this worth it. For $5 we took an instant picture and had a video taken of us by very nice employee. Parking is plenty full, so stop reading my review and go already! Just got done with the Bane Haunted House attraction! It was awesome and by far different than all haunted houses i have ever been to! My knees were still shaking after we were done with the entire course! I do not want to spoil your fun so therefore I will refrain from being descriptive about what goes on inside! I will say this, it felt like we were inside for a very long time! We bought tickets, through the website (about $25 per person). We got there at about 8:20 p.m., got my mobile ticket scanned, waited on the line for about 10 more minutes and we were on our way inside! You are asked to empty your pockets before a guy scans you with a hand-held metal detector! After that you are let inside yet another waiting area where we waited for about another 20 minutes before walking into the actual attraction! Everything is very well organized outside as far as the lines! There were multiple lines just follow the signs, I do recommend you buy your tickets online and either print them out or have the mobile ticket ready on your phone and walk right up to the front where you will see an attendant scanning mobile/printed tickets! On that note I think the line organization was great! And the attraction itself was awesome! There is an on-site kiosk were you can buy your tickets too! I saw a tent where they were selling some goodies and beverages as well, did not try em out! If you have never been here, GO! And go now! read more

Why buy an online ticket with a scheduled time? To wait over 2 hours? And obviously no refunds... A Totally waste of my money. I had no patience to wait. It kills the fun. So I came here because my sister has been wanting to try this place out for a while. We tried doing the online subscription thing so that we can get $2 off but it didn't work so don't count on it. Groupon offers a discount of $8 if you go during the weekday but since my sister is only available during the weekend we thought, "screw it". The total for two people for the normal price was $62.14 (kinda pricey). Although they moved buildings, this new place has plenty of parking options out in the back and amazing staff who greet you and will ask if you are "ready" to experience the Bane Haunted House. For example, you MUST have close-toed shoes and you can't bring anything into the warehouse (just car keys, wallet). If you have an apple watch or a fitbit, make sure you can turn it off or take off before you enter because they'll ask you to turn it off. Anyways, depending on what time you go there may or may not be a long line. We arrived around 9:45pm and there wasn't a line at all to buy tickets but a little line for the first line (outside the building) and a pretty long line for the second line (inside the building). We didn't get inside the "house" until around 10:25ish. Before you get in, there are tvs that show "scary" experiences in the "real world" and a screen where it tells you how many people couldn't finish the "house" that night and overall in the season. Once you get to the front of the line, there are a bunch of rules you have to read before you go. Once you accept, you go in pairs (no exceptions). I'm not going to say anything that ruins the experience but will reiterate things such as: the actors DO touch you, you WILL be asked to do things, do NOT touch the walls, and you WILL be separated from your partner. I personally didn't think this was scary but when i went in there were 76 people who couldn't finish that day but by the time we got out (around 10:45pm) there were 100 people so i guess to some it may be too much (especially if you have an active imagination). Anyways, although it wasn't "scary" i did still have a lot of fun. The decorations were 10/10 and the actors really make it a fun experience haha. My family and I enjoy going to hunted houses every year. Normally we get to do about five to six hunted house per year. However, I was looking forward to going to Bane hunted house in the city. Read reviews and like always some good and some not so good. Yesterday, my daughter and I went to Bane along with some of our family. It was six of us , so the kids went in together and us three adults went in. When going in I heard my daughter screaming "put me down and why are you pulling my hair". I asked if I could catch up with my daughter the characters just yelled at me to keep it it moving. When I met up with my daughter she was telling me had happened to her. At this point I was upset. We knew that there was going to be some touching, but not physically someone lifting you up and running with you then to throw you or pull your hair! Once we reached the part with the bar, they was cursing at people and us there because we moved. Once going through the doors with my daughter (which she was holding on to me, not to let her go) the two characters grab us by the back of our necks and started to curse at us "get the f**k off of her now" and they was yelling this to our face about six to seven times, meanwhile their hands were still holding the back of our necks and pushing it down!!! I asked them at this point to get their hands off of us and give me second to ask my daughter whom mind you was shaking at this point, not from being scared, but being scared that they was going to hurt her. I then asked again and they told me that "I better say f**ken mercy or grt the f**k off of her". At this point I told them get us the f**k out so I could speak with a manager or the owner. There were a couple of staff that had ask if we was ok, cause I was asking for a manager when I told them what just had happened, apparently it wasn't the first time as I was told. Someone proceeded to get a manager for me and when explaining to the manager, it felt like he was being condescending and if we didn't know what we was talking about, because he stated "we trained them not to be so aggressive nor cursing " is what he had said. And he kept on asking us the same questions as if it was supposed to change. Other people was standing there waiting to speak with him about being refunded, nothing to do with my daughter or I, but she told him that he was speaking to my daughter and I aggressively and undermining what I was saying to him. So if other people saw this, did he really cared to hear what had happened?? And I even explained to him that I wasn't looking for a refund nor to continue, cause I wasn't going to be treated like that, but just wanted them trained their staff better and have the owner to contact me via email or phone, so to try to understand, why they were so aggressive. Oh and by the way, after an half an hour going back and forth with the manager, then he asked if I wanted to make a report. Of course I did, but what a joke, cause that should have been one of the first things he should have asked! So if you like to be aggressively touched, pulled, hair pulling or be grabbed by the back of your neck, then yes, this is a great place for that! read more

One of the actors gently grabbed my hair from behind, didn't see who it was but it felt really good, like a massage. If u are reading this and u are the one who did it, thank you I was terrified, the scary people really touch and interrogate you. I was like "ok ok ok ok" about to pee my pants. It was really interactive and that made it terrifying and also hilarious. The scary clowns and scary...girls? Get really close to you, as u try to make excuses and plead for them not to scare u. Hands down..Bane is NO JOKE!! I've been to other Haunted Houses in the city, but this one..was intense. The security guard told my friend, "See..you..I bet you will be screaming like a girl. In fact..do you hear those screams in the background..those are men!" LOL The whole event lasted for about 15-20 minutes. It had included crazy looking clowns..scary nuns..monsters..they had me climbing over a bed..crawling in a morgue..I was pushed into a standing coffin (that they kept spinning around) and even pushed down a deep and dark slide with a surprise at the bottom. We met Skeery Jones (Z100 radio station) outside before the event who said we should not take this event lightly. He was right!! Oh yeah...if you get scared and yell MERCY..the staff will escort you outside with no refund. We did see people (who got too scared and didn't finish) get picked on by Security guards (who had shined flashlights on them) and got laughed at by people waiting in line. One teenager (full of tears)..well she ran out (30 seconds) after entering through the dark doors.  This event is worth the money. Let's start by saying that this Haunted House is INSANE! I am a huge fan of haunted houses..Halloween is literally my number one favorite holiday! The things you have to do at Bane are crazy and not like any haunted house I have ever been too. My advice is to anyone second guessing it because you are afraid... don't. The other advise is: DO NOT WEAR RIPPED JEANS. That was my mistake even after reading ALL the reviews, you will have crawl and I did get hurt. The staff was super understanding, while staying in character and helped me but my knees are definitely all banged up. Again that my was fault. The reason I put 4 stars instead of 5 is for one reason.. a scare actor lead a young boy out of the house while my friends and I were inside the building waiting in line to go into the house. The actor was screaming in his face asking the boy if he said "mercy", the boy looked confused and said yes. The scare actor then yelled at him to get out. He turned to my group and started crying and told us he didn't know what that word meant and that the actors inside were tormenting him to say the word. If that's true I find that unfair for the child's experience. They really mean it when they say "if you say the word mercy you will be escorted out. Say it if you mean it. read more

I went to Bane on the first night it was open this year. I was surprised in both happy and sad ways. A lot of love was put into these sets. The slide and every room had great detail so I was impressed by that. What I was not impressed by were most of the actors. Most of what they do is just jump scares and then they just pointed to where I needed to go which took me out of the experience a bit. Some rooms didn't even have scare actors in them which I viewed as wasted potential. When I read that there were no Animatronics, I expected the actors to go all out and really try and scare me, but most of it is just a lot of screaming. Some actors had roles that allowed them to talk to me which was a nice change of pace from hearing people blow out their voice. Another problem is the location. Bane is not near any subway and the closest one is a 10 min walk away. Unless you have a car, or are daring enough to take a bus in Manhattan, then I hope you like a good walk. I also see other reviews saying that you had to pay an additional charge for bag check, which is ridiculous. I didn't have this problem since I didn't have a bag with me, but people are already paying to get in, why make them pay for a bag check to? I wonder what it was like back in New Jersey. I hope they improve it for next year because this place really does look amazing, but it felt a little empty and I wanted more from the actors. read more

Bought 4 tickets for the haunted house. The instructions stated I had to be there 15 mins before 9pm. I arrived at 8:50 pm and stood in line. Finally entered the house at midnight on a Saturday night, in October. 3 hrs in line for a 30 min scare wasn't worth it. The line you wait in to enter the house is outside. It's a lot of standing so beware of that. If you bring a bag please be advised that you have to check it for $5. I had to use a the bathroom and was told there was a port-a-pottie on the side of the building. I didn't use it. When I finally did enter the house I was scared. It's a scary experience. The actors play on all your fears. Fear of tight spaces, fear of the dark, separation anxiety, clowns, nuns, spiders,......it's all there. It was my first haunted house and I was scared. I didn't stop screaming the entire time. If you don't mind the wait then this is the house for you. Have fun. read more

Bought the VIP tickets. There was a drunk who got out of line so it caused a pretty big delay. The beginning was the best part as it was spread out. By midway we started hitting every one that went in from before us. There was maybe 15-20 of us waiting to advance. This is where things got lame. The actors started saying please go against the wall, please move down. While another room theyre calling us piggies. The pleases, thank yous and large groups killed the scare factor. At one point we were being yelled at to hurry down some slides but the slides became overfull. Go when it 1st opens to avoid lines and the house being overcrowded. read more

I've been to quite a few, and out of them all, this one has the highest potential. There are some sections of this haunted warehouse that, if taken slightly to another level, would make this the greatest. However, and maybe it's because I went after Halloween, I did not feel the passion of the actors, their zeal, or their presence. Thus, scary sets were a letdown. It is mostly just walking around with the lights off and people jumping out at you. You could do it at home if you've got a big family and you don't have the loot. This place is expensive. The staff is gracious, I even talked to a few monsters, and overall it's okay. It's a little fast for the price, though. The price is nuts, for real. That price! It should be called a WholeFoods Haunted House at that cost It is evident that a lot of thought went into this place, and I'm sure when all things are working, it's scary. Separating us was dope. Scariest Haunted House EVER! This is NJ's largest and most terrifying haunted house. I have been to a few other ones, and this by far takes the cake! I didn't know what full contact was until I came here. Its a thrill seekers dream. This place is definitely not for the faint of heart, its pretty intense. Once you arrive you check in and wait on a line. You go in with small groups of two and then you're on your own. Do not expect being with a large group. The point of what makes this place super unique is that they work hard on keeping you alone and scaring the SH*T out of you! If you can handle the entire haunted house, congrats! This 30-45min haunted house is filled with all of your worst nightmares from zombies, to clowns, to dead brides, and evil twins. Its insane! I loved it! I would definitely go back, bring friends, and see who can make it the entire time. There are so many other creepy things but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I've always wanted more going to haunted attractions and this one brings it allll. It's more of an extreme haunted attraction meaning the actors can touch you and get up in your face make you do things you don't necessarily want to. It was amazing from start to finish there was something at every single turn . They really get into their jobs , get up in your face make you crawl climb and do all types of things. You will be separated. The staff does scream and touch you but that's all in good fun. It's a little pricey but who cares. I love Halloween and especially haunted houses. It's my favorite time of year and I generally try to go to a few new ones every year. There are two types of haunted houses, those who are dark and scare the crap out of you the old fashioned way; jumping out in the dark, screaming at you in small creepy labyrinths and those who take a more theathrical approach. Bane is most definitely the former. It is dark, creepy and scary but it is not really, well, entertaining. There's not a whole lot to see. Also, where they totally fail is that they separate you. I went there with my girlfriend and half way through it, we were separated by the staff and I didn't see her again until the end. Also, you need to note that it is very, very easy to get lost and end up outside of the attraction, abruptly ending your experience. This happened to her and she had to wait outside for a while waiting for me to finish. Also, I was not thrilled by the parts where I had to crawl. Not my thing. I wasn't dressed for it. Unlike most haunted attractions, the majority of staff wore jeans and hoodies. Few were in costume. Odd. That said, if you like to be scared, and there are most definitely those who do, Bane may be for you. But if you are more like me and prefer more theatrics and costuming, try Forest of Fear in Sterling Forest. Been going there for years and it never disappoints. read more

My wife and I went to Bane Haunted House last week and we had a good time and we enjoyed ourselves overall and feel like they have good potential. We've been to nearly all of the Halloween attractions in the Northeast and Bane is pretty innovative and they have you going through some different horror things which I haven't seen elsewhere. They also like to separate you which makes it more fun, my wife found out she wasn't as brave when I wasn't walking in front and holding her hand. I hope that they're successful and continue to innovate and invest in their attraction. I'd like to see more detailed sets, more props, maybe more elaborate make-up on some of the actors and for them to be creative and take more advantage of the fact that they can make contact. We went around 7pm and there were a lot of teens there and they seemed to have a lot of fun and a lot of them were coming out of the exits screaming. read more

We decided to give Bane another try since I know how good the haunted house is. I didn't want to let one person stop us from having fun. If you have a Groupon, make sure to reserve your tickets online in advance. Hopefully you won't run into a situation like mine where Groupon's system shuts down and you can't get a hold of them. Save yourself the trouble and reserve in advance. We came back on a Saturday night around 7pm (when it opens) and it was definitely packed with people who arrived even before 7pm. There was still plenty of parking which was great. The line outside was filled up to the very end, but surprisingly we didn't have to wait as long as I thought, we probably waited about a half hour on the outside and inside line until we got in. The inside line has clips of classic scary movies which is a nice entertainment while you wait. You can also hear everyone screaming inside the house, which made some people in line very nervous. A few girls went in and quit after about two minutes lol. So you do have the option to stop, but after paying that amount of money, just do it, it's worth it. The point is to get scared, and it's definitely scary. The actors are really into their roles, which I appreciate. The amount of time spent in the haunted house is longer than others in my opinion, so it's definitely worth it to try. Yes, you will be touched and asked to do things, so be ready for that. Other than the ticket experience, this is a great haunted house. If the admission process goes well for you, then you will definitely have a great night. read more

I went on opening night. It was my first haunted house experience but it was such a great one. The room themes are great, the makeup is awesome and the actors are phenomenal. It was really so terrifying I wanted to leave after 5 minutes in. Luckily I had my boyfriend with me to push me to keep going and I'm so glad, it was worth it. All the actors are phenomenal and really scare the crap out of you. Just be warned the wait can be really long, but it's worth it. Be warned the actors are allowed to touch you, but nothing too bad, just hands brushing against you really. They really do play on every fear of yours, clowns, the dark, claustrophobia. I kept having to remind myself that it wasn't real. I would recommend this place to anyone. I came with a groupon and it was worth it. The groupon was 25$ for two people. Normal admission is 25$ a person. The parts you crawl through are very small and creepy but not too long, so they are bearable. They do separate you from your partner, but it is only for a few moments at a time and afterwords you get to meet up with them, which I like very much. I was pretty happy with the Bane Haunted House, probably one of the better ones I have been to. We went the day after Halloween and shortly after it opened that night. The wait was relatively short and in the "inside" area. It can still get cold "inside," so come prepared for that. We printed off the coupon, which saved us $2 per person per coupon. You get one free glowstick per person. As with most haunted houses, things are more surprising than scary, but there were a few creative twists in this house that I don't want to ruin for people. My only complaint, it would be nice if it were a bit longer for the money you pay and the wait when it's very busy (though, I do realize that a longer experience would make the queue longer for everyone). I am giving Bane a 4.5 out of 5. The good: My first time going to a Haunted House in NYC and it was great! Got tickets for 7 and was inside a couple mins after 7. The flow of the line once inside is also good. You wait about 30 seconds before you can enter they make sure you have read the rules and they let you know the "safeword" ONE LAST TIME. Bane plays with your worse fears. Tight spaces, darkness, being alone, feeling helpless, people creeping up on you, people getting in your face, grabbing you and calling you names. It's all in good fun! The bad: They are VERY aggressive when trying to separate you from your party. In the moment your instant reaction is to want to stay with the people you have came inside with however , trust them and know that you will be okay! Overall had so much fun and would definitely recommend and even go again! *** Please expect to be separated, to have to crawl, climb, be interrogated but HAVE FUN! read more

This is definitely one of the better haunted houses I've been to, probably in part to the fact that the actors are permitted to touch you but not the other way around. It's balanced well with the right amount of catch you off guard spooks as it is with general creep factor. The non-VIP line as everyone mentions is lengthy and thus if you plan ahead and it's in your budget, going for VIP meant not having to wait both outside and inside. They let 2 in at a time and even with that you'll inevitably be split up at some point in time during the attraction. It is a physically immersive space, so be prepared to crawl, slide and generally get a little bounced around. It was certainly a good laugh and scare! read more

Went a few times to Bane; for the haunted maze, and the zombie apocalypse event. Both were very exciting and interesting. The staff at Bane care about their profession and the actors do well to keep it scary and interesting. The zombie event was like laser tag paint ball with zombie actors, but it was different enough to warrant multiple trips to Bane. Stacks up against Reapers and nothing short of an awesome time. My only negative critique would be the handling of insanely long wait times and lines. As an indoor attraction does it really matter if it's dark OUTSIDE? Black out the windows and most lights then. Open the doors earlier and let people in so they don't have to be yelled at by your staff with bullhorns about how they'll be out there over two hours. They say the doubled the length and terror so I'm pretty bummed I didn't make it this year; wasn't waiting over two hours to get in. Maybe next year I'll get there at 4pm so they can let me in at 8pm. Nonetheless it's a great attraction that any scare fans shouldn't pass up. read more

Bane was one of the most intense experiences I've ever had going to a haunted house. Nothing else is quite like it! Think of McKamey Manor lite, but you can mercy if you're too scared to continue! If you're slow it can take up to 45 minutes to get through, and they don't like it if you wait for your friends. Make sure you read the rules because they take them very seriously! The actors were very creative with their scares, and I didn't expect so many or some of the hiding spots. Don't expect them to go easy on you for any reason, and definitely bring a second pair of pants! All in all, I found the experience worth the price... And the line! Try and get there early, especially on weekends. You won't be the only group going I can assure you. read more

Highly recommend !! Went with my family and had good scares ! Maybe wouldn't take younger children but definitely 16+. They are allowed to touch you and you will be asked to crawl on hands and knees. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. read more

This was a well crafted Halloween experience. This review will be short in order to keep the secrets of the attraction, but know that 5 out of us 6 adults had a great time. Unfortunately the move to NYC was at a detriment to Bane. First the positives, there is a slide now. However that is where the positives end. Firstly, it is now much shorter. What was once a 40 minute haunt is now at best 20 minutes (though it felt much shorter). Due to this, there is more focus on separation, making it even less of a fun group activity. There is also less real people scarers who werent as personable as the NJ scarers. Just endlessly screaming in my face or growling. Advice to the wise: Wear dark stainable clothes. While waiting outside, one of the scarers red makeup had left a big red lipstick stain onto my friend's white shirt. There was also waxy fake blood inside the haunt that had stained everyone's clothes. The haunt itself just felt a little dirty as well. Additionally they have a bag checkin that has a $5 charge. Nowhere did they state the bag check was $5, so be prepared to spend that on top the $30 to $40 you paid. That is if you only have 1 bag, if not be ready to pay another $5. I was informed that there would be more changes in October and with the sorry state that Bane was in in September, I fear for the worst. read more
