Mom has a lovely private residence and enjoys joining others in the dining room for wonderfully-prepared meals and in the living areas for music, movies, pet visits, and a host of activities. She has access to her beloved Catholic Services and Communion. There are plenty of opportunities for conversation and attention! Laundry service and a hair salon are on site, as well as an ice cream parlor, and there are attractive, accessible grounds to walk and appreciate. SLT staff members are professional, friendly, and most caring! It is a relief for our family to know that there is 24-hour care available for Mom if needed. When family and friends visit, they experience the warm, family-like, welcoming atmosphere that Mom enjoys daily - such a plus! SLT allows its residents to age with dignity, a critically important aspect of an assisted living facility. The location of SLT is convenient to churches, parks, Seneca Lake, restaurants, shopping, the Geneva Public Library, doctors and dentists, Geneva General and F.F. Thompson Hospitals, and lectures and more at Finger Lakes Community College and Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

You are placing them into a 'community' where they can make new friends or catch up with old ones. Seneca Lake Terrace provides excellent care for our mom. We live out of state which makes it difficult to visit. The staff keeps in touch on a regular basis to keep us updated on our mom's health, doctor appointments, and general overall health. They offer daily activities which you can or not participate in, it is totally up to the individual. They even have a hair salon. If you are considering placing your loved one in assisted living, I would highly recommend Seneca Lake Terrace.

They…read morelied & kept pressuring to admit family member as long-term care so they could immediately take control of the finances. They promised a private room but changed that once we got there. First 6 hours there, they didn't even offer to assist my 92 yr old Grandma to the bathroom after she came from a 5-week hospitalization. She fell twice the 1st day and had huge bruises on her arms and face the next day. They lost her $5,000 hearing aide and most all of her clothing in the first week. They ignored her dietary instructions and gave her meat although she is a vegetarian and didn't give her the protein shakes ordered by her physician. They soon strapped her in a wheelchair or left her in bed for hours on end, sitting in her own urine and feces all day. Every time we called, no one answered the phone. We would call several times in a row, several times daily. They told us that she would scream out in the night, which she had never done before at home or in the hospital. After the 1st week, she was nodding out when we came to visit. She told us they were giving her pills at night and told her "Now you'll sleep!" By Day 12, she had to be taken to the ER by ambulance (at our request) as she had gained nearly 20 pounds of fluid and was in congestive heart failure. They nearly killed her. I wouldn't let this facility care for my dog! My Grandma is now thriving and walking again after Rehab at a much better facility!

If your loved one depends on this service for food they will starve, if for bathing they will rot in their own smell, if for company, get a dog, they are smarter and much more faithful to their disabled owners. They don't show up and some still claim the time on their sheets. The company is in disarray and does not respond to problems with action, just talk. They will assure you someone can be trusted who cannot be trusted in your home or with your loved one. They hire out of Rochester and Buffalo and then send them down here, our aides knew everyone going in and coming out of prison. If you get a good one the company doesn't pay them on time and they quit. This business needs to be reported to the Better Business Bureau.

With the guidance of her medical staff and the understanding & permission of the Director & Staff of Mill Landing, we moved her a few months later to the Assistant Living side. She has flourished and adjusted well to the Assistant Living Side. My Mom is not able to do all the activities because of speech limitations & understanding but is treated and helped with respect and love each day. The staff never hesitates to contact me at any time to help in any situation that comes up in her daily living.From Christie, Margaret, Danielle, Terry ...ALL THE NURSES, Aids, Food Staff & Maintenance I highly recommend this facility. From the receptionist, to the food service staff, administration and nursing; the attention and caring is heartwarming. Everyone is patient and happy to help. Melony, lead attendant, is a godsend. She knows how to listen, when to tease out a smile and smooths away worries. She is as patient explaining things the 12th time as the 1st. She even gave our parents her home phone when she went on a well deserved vacation. After a visit there, we smile and say " we are so lucky we found this place"

Apparently they're a non-profit, and if you go there and run out of money, they do not kick you out, which is reassuring. They are right across the highway from Ithaca College (IC) and have a partnership with them where residents can go audit classes, and professors come over and do programs at Longview. Mom's in a writing group that she loves. There are lots of concerts at IC across a busy road if a resident can get over there. It's not really walkable. Seems like perhaps there could be a little better coordination though between IC and Longview to get residents who don't drive over to events they might enjoy. Mom reports some ongoing grumbling among residents about the dining room, but also says she's had some great meals from them recently as well, which she often requests delivered directly to her room. They are still using plenty of stock photos on their website showing imaginary happy old people drinking wine in places that are not actually Longview, so I do encourage them to continue to eliminate those photos in favor of pictures that are actually Longview. Because it's actually quite an attractive setting in a woodland with a nice walking trail around the whole facility. I'm pleased to update my review to 5 stars and would say yes, you should definitely go check them out.
