The facility's decor is from the 80's but in good repair. As you enter the facility, we were greeted by receptionist Antonette, very friendly. I am still impressed that there was never a nursing home smell, no urine smell to the entire facility. The staff, RN's, LPN'S and nurse's aides to patient ratio was very low, well staffed. The staff worked as a team and had a good attitude. Call bells were consistently answered quickly, usually under 2 minutes, so much faster than in the hospital. The nurses really paid attention to the patients' expressed and unexpressed needs. I was very impressed with their assessment skills and compassion not just for my aunt, but also for the other patients. The patients were kept clean, neat, appropriately clothed and moved, and alarmed against falls. Patients were tolieted and had frequent changes of disposable underwear. Also the nursing staff called the family consistently in real time when changes in medication or doctor's appointments were made, really great communication. The physical therapist, speech therapist, occupational therapist, and social worker worked well with my aunt, they appropriately challenged her and treated her as an individual. To this day, I am still impressed with what my aunt and her family experienced in 2016 at this very good snf.

Let's be honest:…read more This is not the sort of place anyone loves to spend time in. Personally, I have a visceral reaction to all nursing homes because of childhood experiences with them. That said, if you have to put your loved ones in a place like this, and believe me, I understand that sometimes you do HAVE to...this is a good one. This place is clean. It doesn't have that old person's home smell that hits you in the face like some places. The vibes are good. The staff is actually friendly, and we saw a lot of smiles. And maybe that's because I bring in two smiley little kids with me every time I'm here, but the nurses and the patients all seem to be in pretty good spirits, which can be rare at rehab centers. It seems as though the staff enjoys their work (as much as anyone does), and they took the time to put up a lot of festive decor for the holiday season. There's a Santa in the dining room, snowflakes and more on all the walls, and that's in addition to the sweet fish tank in the lobby area. From what we know, they take good care of our grandma too, which is the most important thing. She is actually happier here than she was at home, and has the full time round the clock attention she needs. And of course, Matlock is on TV, seemingly at all times.

Your loved one will be sharing a room with someone else, that is a guarantee. The only place they can put photos of their family is a 8x10 cork board or taped to the wall. Residents are left out in hallways in chairs sleeping, they are not checked on, dressed if needed, or bathed. If your family member needs help, they are ignored, even if yelling at the top of their lungs. If you plan on putting your family member there, you might as well say your last goodbyes. This place will kill whatever spirit they have left. Outside place looks like a lodge transformed to a nursing home, there are large potholes in the parking lot, you could fall, injure yourself and stay there while you're already there. Gutters look like there about to fall off the building, it looks forgotten about, and so do the residents. When you leave, you leave feeling like you need a shower in sanitizer. Go somewhere else please! For the sake of your loved one. I beg you!!!

I spoke with Cheryl in their office, begging her to send a nurse to look at it even though I saw one just two days ago. I have a hx of cellulitis in that leg, even from small wounds like that and I am a diabetic. She refused, saying "it's not a thing." Cheryl kept talking over me and refused to shut up so I hung up on her. I even swore at her, which I wish I didn't do but I am scared about what could happen to me. My next scheduled nursing visit is in 5 days. A lot can happen in 5 days. As a medical professional she should know this! The front of the folder they gave me says "Call us first. We may be able to help you avoid unplanned hospitalizations if we know you need our help." That's a big fat lie. I wouldn't recommend Centerwell Home Health to my worst enemy, even my ex-husband.

Thanks to the dedication and skills of the nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapist who visited my mom on a weekly basis, she is now 100% recovered. In fact, she seems stronger and more independent than before she went into the hospital in November. Best of all, she loved each and everyone of the visiting health care professionals. Also, it gave us great peace of mind to have a nurse on call 24/7. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to the health care providers at Kindred at Home and highly recommend the agency.

I am surprised that a previous reviewer feels Dr. Law was not using best-practice medicine. I have always been pleased by the depth of thought and breadth of information-gathering shown by Dr. Law and the NP's. I have had much more intensive lab work there than anywhere else I have been a patient. When I had a tick-borne illness, the nurse practitioner worked with me to ensure I was feeling better as soon as possible. My interactions with other staff have been positive. I have always been able to secure a same-day appointment when I needed one. I have never had any problems when having blood drawn. I have been able to contact the office by phone or email and my questions were answered quickly. I have seen other MD's in town who like to assure me that I am fine, rather than addressing actual issues. This will never happen at IthacaMed. She was SEVERELY MALNOURISHED and completely disoriented. I heard a staff member refer to my mother by name once in three months. She was found by me and other family members in the most disgusting conditions you can imagine: 1. filthy dirty, in clothes she'd been in for days 2. bedding disgusting, covered with food (she was really sick and could not do much of anything) 3. in her own waste products which she was desperately trying to remove herself. She said "I feel like a person again" when she was changed by our caregiver, whom we hired to advocate for her. That person saved her life. 4. alone alone alone-- I read they spend fewer than 20 min a day per patient. They mostly seem to watch videos at the desk or stand around chatting.
