From our first meeting, Brooke explained the process in layman's terms and she never minded when we asked many questions, often many "stupid" questions (yes, I say it out loud. I have no pride! I am sure that Brooke had her concerns after the first 50 or so emails I sent her, but she remained completely unruffled and professional about my endless Zillow searches. :) We made a couple of trips to the area, and Brooke and Alex showed us many homes in several areas of the city. They seemed very knowledgeable about the pros and cons of the neighborhoods and were great communicators. We really didn't understand the Seattle real estate market. It's a different system. The complexities of pre-inspections and sewer scopes were new to us. They explained everything and helped us feel comfortable about the process. They were patient and ever optimistic. They have been at each inspection and get me on the phone with the inspector to hear the news, then again to translate and discuss. My wife and I chose Brooke as our agent to buy our first home, and we had a wonderful experience. I've been renting in lower Queen Anne since I moved to Seattle 4 years ago and last summer decided that I was tired of paying rent. I found Brooke through Zillow and saw that she was highly rated and had experience selling houses in the core neighborhoods of Seattle. She called me back right away and we met that weekend to look at places in Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, and the surrounding areas. We didn't know much about the home buying process but Brooke was very patient with us and answered all of our questions thoroughly. I'm really turned off by "sales-y" people but it never felt like Brooke was trying to convince us to buy anything. It truly seemed like she cared about making us feel comfortable and finding us the perfect place. That first week we looked at a bunch of places and we ended up putting an offer in on a new townhouse in Capitol Hill, which got accepted. We got cold feet however and backed out right before the initial inspection. I felt really bad about it since Brooke had spent so much time working with us, but she wasn't upset at all and handled the whole thing professionally. We took the next couple months off to really think about what we wanted and started looking again last fall. Brooke was happy to continue working with us and this time we found a townhouse that wasn't quite as expensive in West Seattle. We closed before Thanksgiving and are moving in this weekend. I also have to mention that Brooke's associate, Alex Ingraham, was great to work with as well. Brooke helped me buy my first home back in 2014 and then helped me sell it 4 years later (on not much notice, I might add.) I would not hesitate to say I do not think you could get a better agent in Seattle than Brooke either as a buyer or a seller. She is extremely knowledgeable about her job, her industry, and Seattle in general. I was impressed with her when she represented me as a buyer but she blew me away when she represented me as a seller. We sprung our process on her towards the end of the season with fairly little notice; we also made a contingent offer on our new house, meaning we were under pretty tight timelines to get the house on the market and sell. She didn't even bat an eye and got down to business right away. SPOILER ALERT - we sold at full asking in August. We did a full walkthrough and talked about what we needed to do. We had to be realistic because we were still going to be living in the house while it was on the market, but we were able to come up with a very clear list [of what felt like 145 things that had to be done within 2 weeks]. It was no joke, but she set out such a clear path for us of what we needed to do. She is extremely thorough, but also realistic about "these are the important things... and if these other things can get done that's great but don't sweat it." We also talked realistically about goals so she knew what was most important to us. For us, most important was selling as close to full asking as quickly as possible. Everything else she did from then on was in service of that goal. Brooke is so on top of everything! I knew what I had on my plate to worry about, and that's all I had to worry about. She was taking care of everything else and I knew it. She sent emails, texts or calls to let me know where things were, to provide general updates or to check on how we were doing with our list of things. I know she was busy, she was repping buyers and had other things going on, but I truly felt like I was her only client, or maybe just her most important one at the time. Brooke is so tenacious and really stands up for her clients. No one is going to get one over on you while she's representing you. She is equally firm with her sellers - she stays on top of you in terms of key dates and such. Staging - she is SO good at this it's stupid. If you have things that will work well, she won't make you rip out your entire house. In our case, because we were living in the house while it was showing this was sort of a big deal. We were able to leave much of our furniture out, but she helped us decide things like "how many cookbooks do you leave on the shelf, how many pieces of art should be on the walls" etc. She has a roster of photographers and others that she works with (inspectors, etc.) , the one we had is outstanding at his job. She also worked with us to call out things that were important for showings that people wouldn't know by seeing the house or reading the notes (such as "Flat top range, just purchased 3 months ago still under warranty" or "Entire hot water heating system replaced within the last 2 years" etc.). Setting up open houses and showings was a breeze, she made it easy for buyers' agents to be in touch with me directly so I could clear everyone (including the dog) out. I found her fees to be comparable to others. She charges a little for marketing that others may not (a minimal amount), but it's totally worth it. My husband asked me in process "is that really worth it?" and then I started showing him all of the different media outlets our house was on, and the kind of difference her promotional materials made. read more

We worked with Brooke on both purchasing our new home and selling our previous home. She and her team are outstanding and exceeded our expectations on every dimension. On the purchasing side, Brooke helped us quickly close an offer on an off-market home at a price lower that we expected based on consultations with other agents - a great outcome in a seller's market like this one. She did this by being fast and responsive (calling us back and reaching out to the seller's agent within an hour of our initial call to her on a Sunday), and collaborating effectively with the seller's agent such that we aligned very quickly on the price range and terms that were acceptable. In the run-up to close, Brooke even helped us coordinate with the seller to install a new floor before we moved in.
