First to mention that I haven't had the procedure yet... But…read moreI was scheduled for a Stress Test due to "After Covid" breathing issues. The lung Dr passed me on to the Cardiologist for investigation. I was told that I would have a pharmaceutical stress test instead of a tread mill test and I didn't understand why. I wasn't happy with the idea of taking a drug that would make my heart race or make me feel afraid. One of the Physician's Assistants (Jennifer) took the time to explain to me the difference between the 2, what it is and how it would feel - basically the exact process of both. She was empathetic and professional and made me feel comfortable enough to go in and take the test. Test is tomorrow - Wish me luck~

Long Island Cardiology Associates…read more Let me start by saying that I truly like Dr Khalili and the care he gives me and I absolutely love much of the staff. I have some wonderful friends working there. However - since the acquisitions ( multiple) of this practice things have not so much gone downhill as they have plummeted off of a cliff. Today was the third (and final) time that I have waited so long without word or warning of a delay that I just left. Frequent long and unexplained waits, cancellation of appointments that are rescheduled more than a month later, promises of calls to schedule that never come. And forget , and I mean forget, trying to get through on the phone. If you are patient enough to let it ring for a long few minutes, you will likely be answered, put directly on hold, and then wait 3-5 minutes or more (I will say more because I hung up during 3 and 5 minute holds today and my wife gave up after 4 minutes). So to recap. I left in frustration after my 9am appointment was not called by 9:45. At 10am, they called and left me a message to call them right back ( gee, after an hour they finally got around to me) I called back twice , letting the phone ring for a good 2+ minutes before being answered and placed on an immediate hold for several minutes each time). If you are retired, living in a nursing home, or don't get out a lot- this may be acceptable. If you work, however, and purposely schedule appointments "first thing" so as to minimize the missed times at your job, then avoid this place because schedules mean absolutely nothing to them.

I think that was really rude! Was it that important to have a cigarette? Very unprofessional!

When I got there I almost felt they treated me as I had a drug habit. They didn't seem to take me very seriously. I turned out having a rare disease 1,000 reported per year, 1 in 5 die from! To add accident to injury, they made me wear a halter monitor for 30 days, which I protested as they had done it before and was useless. Anything I felt, did not report to the monitor. It turned out they didn't get this authorized, as they were supposed to. I got a $3,000 bill, and called them. They advised my Insurance (BC/BS) denied the bill as it was not authorized by their office.. They stuck me with the bill and are now SUING me for the money. I have been bedridden for 5 months, and could not pay them $3,000 when they served the papers to my "ex" husband! I should also mention I lost my disability claim because they were too lazy to give the State copies of my Cardio records. I now have to wrestle my records from them, and find a new Cardiologist because the staff is less than competent. Nor am I willing to pay $3,000 to them, when I was already paying $600/month for the Health Insurance!

I requested another caregiver who was unable to read the telemonitor, asking "what do those numbers mean". I emailed and called several times and was ignored. They certainly were on top of things when i was considering hiring. I thought I should have been refunded for at least the two nights. Again I was ignored. I found them to be unprofessional, untruthful but most importantly the care and knowledge was inferior. Stay away from this if you care about your loved ones, I wish I had.

As a result, they have an obligation to try to keep their customers happy. We needed a companion for our beloved family member and while we were a little shocked by the cost, $600 a night, we hoped that the companions who we hired would be empathetic and hopefully we'll compensated for their time. Overall we were very satisfied with the companions as well as the customer service. One thing you should know. If you arrange for a companion and your patient ends up getting discharged from the hospital, you still have to pay the full price for night. No refunds. So I'd advise waiting until the afternoon before reserving a companion or nurse, since once you order the service you are committed to pay the full price.
