It is a small school so the teachers can really cater to each child's needs and interests. The schools celebrates families of different backgrounds and every year there have been some non-native English speaking kids. Because it's a co-op and has flexible afternoon scheduling it is more affordable than other preschools in the area. Parent presence in the classroom is not expected or required. The co-op jobs are very reasonable and related to administration. Two half weekend days per year parents volunteer for clean-up and organization type jobs. It's nice that you get to know the other kids and families may of whom are from our neighborhood and who will be heading to Kindergarten with us next year.

They are so creative and organized that even a big messy project is finished just in time to start a circle time. They are always looking for new authors, new music, new art projects because they enjoy it as much as our kids. Whatever is happening in CP is done not out of duty but out of love and joy. My children attended for over three years, and I pulled them out after this school year started. Things have changed: The new director, Ms. Judy Cavanaugh is both immature and unprofessional and very disappointing in the way she treats children. Another head teacher, Ms. Shante, who was my child's teacher has poor manners and transfers "negative emotions" to children. I witnessed how she treats children in several occasions and felt extremely disappointed. In general, many staff members and teachers who function at below zero level and demonstrate so both by the way they treat children and unprofessional demeanor. On the very first day, her teacher, Qiaoling, snapped at me, saying, "I sent you 2 text messages and an email yesterday! You didn't respond!" I replied, "What number did you text? I haven't received anything, and I don't check email on Sundays." It was clear she didn't speak to other parents in this manner, and after observing I was the only Black parent in the class it became apparent what was going on. Despite a conversation with the director after my daughter reported being yelled at by Qaioling (after we exchanged contentious emails), things seemed to improve for a day or two, but I should have expected more issues. Qiaoling refused to update me about out of the ordinary classroom changes that affected how I needed to dress my daughter for activities like water play or nature walks, which caused my daughter distress because she was unable to participate and felt I was dropping the ball. Additionally, she didn't inform me about an assembly performance on the last day. During the drive after pick up, my daughter was in tears after feeling isolated because the other children had their parents present at the assembly and she didn't. It's heartbreaking to think of an adult intentionally causing a child to feel neglected/alone and that their parent isn't doing their job. This was flat out cruel. She's an all around spiteful/wicked woman. Lesson learned.

I took Japanese through college; however, I had not had much opportunity to practice or maintain my language abilities in the years since graduation. Here's where Japanese Language Class Boston (JLCB) came in. Sachiko-sensei and Mari-sensei have been incredible resources helping me prepare for JLPT N-4 and prepare my language abilities for working in Japan. Since beginning with JLCB in July 2018, I've taken a variety of intermediate classes (Intermediate Conversation, N-4 Preparatory Class, Genki-2, and more), all have which broadened my vocabulary, grammar, and conversation skills. With JLCB's help, I successfully interviewed in Japanese and received a job offer in Japan! I move to Tokyo in August! :) Additional things to consider: the location, Post Office square, has been incredibly convenient. It is in the heart of downtown Boston easily accessible by all four T lines plus a ~5min walk. The students here are very friendly, a mix of levels (in a good way) and all looking to improve their language skills. They do want to make sure that you are getting the most out of the lessons and it shows in the way that they plan their curriculum. You will be asked what you want to learn in the lessons. Jump at the chance and let them know. You won't regret it. That said, no matter what skill level you're at or what industrial background you're from, there is bound to be a class here that is right for you. I am learning for personal interest, some are learning for business purposes. Group lessons available on most days of the week so you will be able to make it to one or two of the classes. I though that I would miss my family, my country, or my culture, but being able to spend the day with people from around the world is just priceless and makes me appreciate even more where I came from, and who I am. The quality of the classes didn't have comparison, they are the BEST LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN BOSTON. The teachers at BSML treated me like family, and all the staff made me feel at home. The building is awesome! and I like the fact that there are many activities every day. There's was a brand new table tennis table, a foosball table, baseball gloves and balls, soccer balls and every couple of months the school runs a tournament and provide snacks and drinks for everyone, that was one of the things I enjoyed the most, not to mention my ability to write this review, which months ago, It would have been impossible for me. :)

We were in the wrong place and Janet took us across the street to view the smaller infants. We go on a tour with Janet. Seems to be great...kids singing....very structured....staff looked like they knew their roles. I wondered why the cribs weren't in a separate room and together with the noise. Also, I noticed they turn the lights out between 1 and 3 and allow everyone to sleep. I asked "can kids play with other ages, not just their group?" Answer was yes. They would do laundry for cloth diapers, but response was they hadn't done that in a while. Called a few days later...specifically for Janet. She never called back. Instead she had Jenny do it. Jenny told us there was no room available and to call back at end of September. Well, here's the thing. Most parents usually need care immediately and don't have time to wait weeks, if not months. Perhaps the response should've been...."sorry we have no room this semester." I have a feeling if we did call back, they'd say sorry please call back at the end of October. I have wonderings about how Janet handled the phone calls as well. What if a parent needed to speak with her directly concerning a safety issue with their child? Would she still make a college student call the parents back?
