Example: I once wanted to board a bus at the Lechmere T stop (the subway trains weren't running) with a small antique chair that I bought across the street, smaller than some baby carriages that are brought on. An officer walked up to me, told me I couldn't, and really made a show about how important she was as she swaggered back and forth in her uniform and rattled off rules. I would have been fine with the rule explanation but for the fact that while she did this, with her back to the bus, two men boarded, carrying a HUGE, BOXED, FLAT SCREEN TV, one man on each end. I tried repeatedly to draw her attention to this and she refused to turn around! She just smiled, shook her head and said, "I don't see anything!" Arrogance, self importance, and rule enforcement when and as she wanted to. Hope she gets fired with an attitude like that. Better yet I hope she reads this and pictures me making a deserving gesture with my hand.

The cops were nowhere near as buff as their sloshed challengers (that means drunk), but the element of alcohol probably tipped things in the cops' favour, as did strength in numbers. Anyway, it was comical and brutal and scary all at the same time. The same men had been racially abusive inside the Chinese restaurant where I was eating at 3am (Double Chin), and hadn't paid their bill. They'd wanted to lay a beatdown on the employees, but the cops had been nearby thankfully. Four stars for responding so well, minus one for so many crappy, illegal parking tickets given out.

Otherwise, you will tirelessly drive around in circles searching for an illegal parking spot and may risk your car getting ticketed or towed. Aside from the parking situation, the office opens promptly at 8:30am and I quickly spoke with the clerk and was out by 8:38am. The security staff and clerk were both respectful, kind, and helpful. Customer service was five stars, the difficulty in finding a parking spot/finding a garage is the reason for the lower rating!

Things looked dim and didn't show much chance of changing, so I decided to attempt suicide. I bought a bottle of sleeping pills and that night took them all. The only thing it did was put me to sleep. The next night I bought two bottles of sleeping pills and tried again. This time I went asleep and woke up starting to die but it was so uncomfortable I decided not to let it happen and roused myself. Walking away from the bushes, a Harvard University police squad car drove slowly up and the officer at the wheel beckoned me to approach. He rolled down his window and handed me a $50 bill. Then a few days later the Harvard police invited me to a party being held by the staff of the Harvard student newspaper. I went and it was a breath of fresh air. They were so respectful. I had been managing editor of my high school newspaper at Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn, IL so it meant something to me. I owe the Harvard University police my deepest gratitude for stepping in at a moment when my life was on the line. Thank you so very much!

But my luck ran out in June 2014 when I decided to pass a traffic officer that was driving BELOW the speed limit. Around 25 mph. I passed him and was subsequently pulled over. I thought I was in a dream state. I thought to myself "No way he can pull me over for doing 35mph on Hyde Park Ave" But I was wrong. The cop asked us why we had the audacity to pass him. It was as if his ego was hurt due to my passing of him at 35 mph. After waiting 15 agonizing minutes while he was searching my records he hands me a warning and said "Don't pass me next time". I sheepishly agreed and said " Thank you. Sir!" Although I did not receive a fine. I am irate at these cops harassing law abiding citizens to justify their jobs, protect their egos, and meet there end of month quotas. It is time for law enforcement to be held accountable to the people that they work for. We need to keep them in line and communicate any injustice we experience because of them however small or large. They should be working in our best interests. We should not have to beg for their mercy every time we encounter them. I am asking everyone to speak up. Critically Review your local police departments. We live in an age of connectivity. Let's use it too everyone's benefit. Thanks for reading! P.S. Rules of driving on Hyde Park Ave: You can drive 40 mph 95% of the time. But slow down on weekends and whenever the weather is beautiful (clear skies, no precip). The local traffic cops don't like to work when it's not nice out. Also, as you may already have learnt from my rant. DO NOT PASS A TRAFFIC COP CRUISER. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THEM AS POSSIBLE.

About 5 Weymouth Police came barging in the one male grabbing me extremely hard. They had a warrant for my ex stemming from the MY original charges I pressed against him for abuse. I had no problem speaking with them. They refused to show me any warrant or even explain why they were in my house. I am not a criminal I do not have a criminal history I obey the law I called the police over a year ago for help when I was brutally attacked by a man in my home and the first thing this Male officer did was aggressively put his hands on me. Totally disappointed in how flawed the system is. Serve and PROTECT. I do not feel I am safe or PROTECTED. They treated me as if I was not a human with feelings. I've always have been respectful and cooperative now I know why these public servants get the negative reviews that they do! I'm sorry if I this isn't written very well I am still extremely rattled by what just took place. I will come back to make some corrections later on. Just needed to express my opinion somewhere unfortunately it won't make any difference. Long story short they had a warrant for the ex I called the cops on over a year ago and they still have not produced any paper work saying they had the right to be on my house. My son and I have lived in fear bc of this man and the last time I did call for help the abuses wad let out I was punished by him for calling the police and again by the police who threatened to call DCF and treat me like the criminal not the victim. They have no clue what life has been like and for them to act in such an aggressive manner when it wasn't warranted adds to the trauma my son and I have been subjected to for years. Too many suffer in silence bc have treatment such as this by those who are meant to keep us safe. I called the police to keep me safe they removed the threat and they still reported to DCF and my son was removed from the house bc of the stay away order I placed to keep him away. The bad guy won again. Even from behind bars this man gets to control my life. Did I mention after the fact he was taken out of my home for domestic abuse the Weymouth Police proceeded to give this man a phone to call me while in their custody!!! I am disgusted and I have no idea who to call or what to do I just know this was handled completely wrong and innocent people including a child had to pay

I've had to call in a few 911 things over the last few months and these guys were at my location in no time at all. This really makes me feel safe. I live in a 'up and coming' area, that means the prices are sky high but you could still get shived on your way home. We have had several community meetings with area police representatives and they have been very serious about enforcing public safety in my area. My favorite 911 one scenario was about a week ago when my wife was walking the dog and she walked right past a hooker (well, she certainly looked like one at least - could have been a tranny hooker - who knows - doesn't matter) doing umm indecent and very disgusting (and slurpy sounding) things to a rather overweight gentleman in a dark car with its stereo blaring in a parking spot next to our house. She got geeked, called the cops and they were there literally in about 3 minutes. I didnt peep my head out the door long enough to hear the explanation but i'm sure it was comedy gold. Anyways, thank you, and merry x-mas coppers - keep it up and i will bake you some crack pipe-shaped holiday cookies. And to that ho's pimp, I ain't no snitch - she was in a handicap spot.
