So I go to a pizza place and order lasagna. Maybe my bad. The place is long and narrow. I am not sure how clean, but all the napkin holders were dirty and dusty. No meat lasagna, so I had the spinach version. The 5" round aluminum tin might have had 1 spinach leaf torn throughout. The sauce was ok. Not a great atmosphere. Shopping center parking. This place is obviously very popular. It was good. Not fantastic but good. It seems like it gets mostly local regulars. It's in a shopping center and looks quite small from the outside. Inside is bigger than you'd expect. It's a long and narrow restaurant. You order at the counter. Options for pizza are either 10 inch personal or the next six up is something like 16 inches. Huge jump in size. After ordering you seat yourself. We had a bit of a wait. Then they holler your name for you to walk up and get it. We ate all our pizza so it was good. But as I said - not great. I have had some excellent pizza places down here. This was probably my least favorite. I would not eschew it but also would not go out of my way to get it again. read more

Let's start with the service. If you don't like people, don't work in a position where you deal with people. I'm a nice and polite person. Even if you aren't. But I didn't feel welcomed. Got a couple of drinks, was gonna put lids on them, but the lids are located on top of the soda machine which was dusty and dirty. After that the pizza was decent. Brooklyn Pizzeria has been a mainstay of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for as long as I can remember, going back to the days when everyone went to Hardy Court Cinema then walked a few doors down to get pizza. They are the kind of place that has been doing it right for decades. Brooklyn makes New York style pizza, meaning the crust is thin and the pizzas are quite large and flat. Think John Travolta folding a large piece to eat while walking down the street. They also do oven-baked sandwiches, garlic knots, salads, and more. What I love about their pizza is how well they have perfected the process. Their crust is thin but not crunchy, and has just the right amount of chew that make it more filling. Their sauce is the perfect balance between sweet and savory, which I enjoyed. They don't pile up a lot of cheese or toppings so that it cooks evenly and makes for a much more portable and easier to eat pizza. One thing I noticed this last visit was I could pick up a slice from the pan, just a couple minutes after it came from the oven, and none of the toppings slid off - even while holding it vertical for a couple of seconds to transfer to my plate. Try that at other places and you'll likely end up with a mess. The inside of this place still looks like 1980-something with old NY-inspired artwork, simple booth seats, and metal chairs. It is NOT fancy at all, which might turn some people away. It kind of reminds me of some place you might see a movie cop stop by the get some pizza while walking the beat in NYC. read more

I've been here twice, and my second visit was so disappointing that I doubt I'll be back. The first time, I had pizza--it was fine, nothing to rave about, but decent enough to make me return. On my second visit, I ordered a calzone. When I placed the order, the cashier asked if I wanted a side of marinara sauce. I declined, thinking it was odd to need extra sauce since I assumed the calzone would already have marinara inside, like every other calzone I've ever had. When it came out, it looked fine from the outside, but as I started eating, I quickly noticed how dry it was. Bite after bite, it was just melted cheese and slices of lunch meat. I even kept thinking, "Maybe all the sauce just shifted to one end during baking," so I worked my way through it expecting to eventually hit that pocket of marinara. But nope--there wasn't a drop anywhere. Just dry bread, cheese, and meat the whole way through. By the end, it felt like more of a chore to eat than something enjoyable. If the standard here is to serve calzones without sauce inside, that should really be made clear. It was a frustrating and flavorless experience. read more

First, the pizza was great. It was just a basic mushroom and onion, and it was great. However, the main guy there was just as rude as a real New Yorker. If you want authentic pizza, you get the Brooklyn attitude. I told him I was born in Brooklyn and was anxious to try the pizza. Crickets. OK, I get that. He's tired. I was wearing my favorite NFL team's hat and T-shirt, and I saw on the TV that we had just scored. Happily, I said, we've already scored? He said, "Who's we? There's no we here." I pointed to my clothes and the screen, and he didn't give a whatever. OK, fine, you suck at customer service. I came in for pizza, not to make friends, even though I just moved pretty close to the place. I had also ordered an eggplant parmigiana. I wish I knew what it tasted like, because they made a chicken one. Found that out once I got home. And the sauce had zero effort. Or close to it. A lot of tomato paste still needed to be diluted - it was too pasty - you could scoop it off the chicken. Tomato paste, in and of itself, can be bitter and very acidic. I am a bit biased and bit of nostalgia for me. I have not been here in years. Especially the other location in Bay St. Louis. I only been there twice at that location. This particular location is in the hardy court shopping center in Gulfport off Courthouse. It is a very casual atmosphere. Great place for New York style pizza. It is a thin crust style. I have not been there in years and no expert on it, but to me it tasted and like what I use to get when I lived in New York City. They offer other food options. But really you are there for the pizza. I'm not a beer drinker but a great place if you want beer and pizza combo. You may think to yourself, "why would I want to get a pizza there and not somewhere else?" For starters, you can get a slice and not order a whole pizza if you just don't want a lot of food. I love this place! Not only they local and taste good! They don't hold back on the toppings. Carful when you order. If you order a lot of toppings, it can get heavy. Depends on what toppings you get. So worth it, from one slice to a whole pie. If you prefer add extras to your stuff. They offer the usual salt and pepper at the table. If you want more, they have red pepper flakes, Parmesan or Romano cheese, catalina and ranch dressing. If you are not too full. They have a few dessert fare. The seating is mainly booth style seating and one large table in the back for a large group. No padding in the booth and little bit at table seating. Little padding on the chairs/table. They offer a few arcade games and some vending machines. One LCD tv in the corner in the front. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Small order of garlic knots. The sauce is good and the meatballs are a decent size. The noodles are al dente. Garlic knots are fresh and hot. Like everything else is. Their is a pool of butter and fresh garlic at the bottom. I just use it to dip my garlic knots in it for extra flavor. Mac Daddy sandwich is so worth it and i don't know what is exactly in it? I tasted Turkey, bacon, ham, lettuce, red onion sauce and on a lightly baked focaccia bread. It is only comes in one size, half only. Very filling and worth it. One thing I noticed on the menu, they offer a half size muffuletta not many local restaurants offer this. We ordered a special 16" pizza to go (like a supreme). Got a ice water fountain drink and had to get a Barq's root beer in a glass bottle. It is a local thing and it was started here in Biloxi before they sold it and became part of the Coca-Cola line up. They also have a good selection of beers also. Drink responsibly. A must if you are in the area want great pizza in a casual spot. It is not stellar, but fantastic. In my opinion! No WiFi I can see. The people here are super nice!! If you don't go when there's 50+people in the restaurant your food will be out within 10 mins. If it's like 4pm, call and order 30 mins ahead ! If you don't you'll be waiting a while. Salads are whatever but it's a pizza place so that's to be expected. My friends drink had like particles ? In it? Probably from the straw paper or paper towels. I told them it would make them grow big and strong and to drink it anyways. read more

The pizza here is awesome! This restaurant is actually a couple hundred miles from where I live. Anytime that I am near the vicinity, I make sure to plan a trip there. Caveat, if you were looking for an elegant sit down restaurant with soft music in the background, etc. this is not it. It is a pretty simple place. Located in a strip mall. If the purpose of your trip is for great pizza, this is it. You walk up, tell the guy what size pie you want are ordered by the slice. Visiting for the first time I have to say the girl at the register almost caused me to just walk out. Incredibly rude with about 2 inch bejeweled finger nails, WORKING IN A RESTAURANT! The owner walked up and was almost as rude. Against my better judgement I decided we would go ahead and stay and eat. We had a long day and just didn't want to go somewhere else. My son ordered a calzone and it was terrible. Maybe 3 pieces of Canadian bacon and tons of what I guess was ricotta. It made the calzone wet. He's a major foodie but only ate a small amount. I ordered a personal pizza. The dough was not cooked long enough. It was a super waste of $30. The longer I sat there and looked around I noticed the place is filthy, staff all had on dirty t-shirts and dirty jeans. After looking around Yelp I noticed they had a health inspector grade "C" in early June 2025 and pulled it to a "B" in July. Overall I would definitely give it a failing grade. I was looking for some pizza to chow down on tonight and saw this place and decided to give them a shot. Wow oh wow am I impressed with what they have going on. I ordered a large pizza thinking they would be the same size as your usual pizza places. This pizza is massive! The boxes they use are huge and the pizza still manages to overflow on the side of the box. The service was really good and straight to the point and didn't try to sell you anything else you didn't want. All in all very satisfied! We were looking for a gluten free pizza restaurant. We found "Brooklyn Pizzeria" and it was great. You order at the counter and they call your name when it's done. This place has been in Gulfport for 32 years and has a nostalgia feel to it, with all the old New York pictures and decor. We ordered 1 gluten free pizza and one 18" with everything on it. That 18" was much bigger that 18". They definitely want you to get a belly full here. Great find for us! read more

I have been going go to Brooklyn Puzza for many years ...before Katrina ...when Mark was there everything was wonderful ..just like When I lived in Jersey . The last few times that I have been there it has been terrible ..tonight the calzone and the Stromboli were horrible ....I will not be back ..staff at the counter are not friendly and you just don't have that welcoming atmosphere any longer its a shame that you spent years making such a wonderful business to see it fall apart after you retire read more

Closest we've gotten to New York pizza in the Gulf Coast region. It's hard to get NY pizza here but this was hard to beat! They're in an unassuming strip mall, but the narrow restaurant goes pretty far back so there's plenty of seating. They were also well staffed for a busy lunch. A slice was about $3.50 which isn't bad at all considering the large size. read more

This place is popular so my only complaint would be that you have to expect to wait at least 20-30 minutes for your food and usually 5-10 minutes to order and pay at their counter. Things would go more smoothly if they had more than one person/register open which I've never seen in eating here 30 or more times. The restaurant has basic bench seating.
