He asks many questions and listens carefully to assist in his assessment of patients. I can't think of a better physician to rely on for treatment of my own cardiovascular system. I feel great about his assessments and explanations of my own medical condition. I've found a cardiologist I'll be sticking with for a lifetime which I believe he will help to extend under his care. Btw, his image specialist, Tommy, does a great job with setting up stress tests, and his assistant , Breanna, round out a great team. Highly recommended.

Dr. Dukes is an excellent, life-saving doctor whose reputation speaks for itself. This review is strictly about the business practices and office staff. From the beginning, the office staff has made an already difficult time significantly more stressful. While this is not the first issue I've had, I generally avoid leaving negative reviews. Unfortunately, a recent billing experience left me no choice. I received a bill for a visit that I had already paid for. I use my credit card for all transactions, specifically for record-keeping, so I have clear documentation. I called expecting a simple correction, but that was far from the case. After explaining the issue and providing my transaction statement, I was told that the payment I made in the office was applied to a different charge that had not yet been billed to me. This was never explained at the time of payment. The front desk did not mention any pending or future charges, and I was explicitly told my copay would be a set amount. After being placed on hold multiple times, I was told the bill was actually related to a service associated with my defibrillator. I explained that I was never informed--verbally or in writing--of any monthly service charge, nor did I sign paperwork authorizing such a service. Additionally, the bill itself does not reference this service at all; it clearly states it is for a doctor's visit. After nearly 45 minutes of back-and-forth, I asked to speak with the office manager, who was unavailable. I was then transferred to another associate and had to repeat the entire situation yet again. This person also could not explain how I was being charged for a service I was never informed about or agreed to. I was originally told my insurance would cover everything except my copay. I was eventually told there was nothing they could do and that if I wanted to stop the service, that was my choice--only to then be told it would need to be approved by the doctor. It makes no sense to offer the option to stop a service if the decision isn't actually mine. Overall, this situation feels disorganized and questionable. I was billed for a doctor's visit I had already paid for, and that payment was apparently applied to an entirely different service I was never told about. Had the charge been clearly explained or billed correctly, this confusion could have been avoided. Because of this experience, I will be speaking with my primary cardiologist to determine whether I need to continue care with Cardiology Associates, as they are not providing services that I cannot receive elsewhere--without the added billing confusion

Recently I had a strange episode with elevated heart rate that lasted too long for my taste. The New Year's holiday was coming, and I didn't want to end up with an issue when most doctors would be off, so we dropped in about 2 p.m. the day before they were going to be closed for five days. Can't recall that I ever just showed up there without an appointment before. Although they were busy, they told me that they would fit me in, but it might take a while. Long story short, I was okay. The "episode" was likely a reaction to an overly hot shower, which expanded my blood vessels and my heart was trying to cool me down. Isn't the human body amazing in ways it tries to fix us when we don't even realize it? Because I've had some other electrical heart rate issues in the past I didn't want to take a chance that it was something more serious. Am very grateful that the staff squeezed me in, and Dr. A treated me like it was a routine visit, doing the appropriate testing without making me feel rushed. He gave me some tips on what I can do if this happens again, providing me with a feeling of being back in control. Much appreciated!
