I arrived this morning for a stress test and was told that it had to be re scheduled because it was a fasted test .I was not informed about this at the time my appointment was scheduled. I had an appointment with Dr. souari to begin with, I called a few days ago to see if he has a cancellation so I could see him sooner. The front desk person told me oh no you have to have an authorization to see him first, I said nobody told me that to begin with! Then I wanted to make an appointment with Dr. Schmitt, she goes oh no the doctor doesn't like to do second opinion!! Then she put me on hold for no reason for over 10 minutes, I had to hang up and dial again she happened to pickup the phone and had me on hold again and somebody else got on the phone try to convince me to go with another doctor that was not my choice. I've been in touch with the office since early December after being referred here. It took over a month to finally receive a phone call appointment from one of the Doctors, this was after having three phone appointments set and no calls were ever made. Now I understand medical emergencies happen but my frustration is the complete lack of communication from the office employees. I had to call every single time to find out what was going and how to reschedule. There has been further annoyances with this office randomly scheduling appointments and AGAIN no communication on their end what these appointments are for, or if the times and dates would even work for me. Now my final straw with this office is yet again, my appointment being randomly changed with ZERO communication to me if the new time would work with my schedule. I yet again, have to call to ask them what this appointment is and why it was changed. All to follow up on results that honestly, should be a courtesy call on their part but in actuality it will be another co-pay given to them. In the 4 months of dealing with with this office I have nothing but frustration and if anything more stress now, with the ridiculous way the office is ran. I can't wait to finally have my final appointment and if I need any further medical assistance regarding cardiology i'll be finding a different office. read more

UPDATE: Since posting this initial review and after a phone call from my midwife on my behalf, I was able to get in contact with my doctor and get the answers I needed. Dr. Evayzian is a good doctor with clear communication and kind demeanor. I appreciate his time and expertise. I stand by my statement that scheduling is difficult and office communication is often disorganized, but if you are able to get in contact with Dr. Evayzian you will receive good care. ------ Initial 1-star review: Dr. Evayzian seems like a fine doctor for the brief amount of time I've seen him but scheduling is a nightmare at both locations and Dr. Evayzian is often too busy to see patients. I want to state that I know I'm not the sickest or most important person in the room. I've earnestly tried to act with patience and give the benefit of the doubt. That said, while I am evidently not important to this team, I am waiting on test results that have a huge impact on my life. I'm going to be giving birth in two months and finding out the results to my tests will determine where I'm giving birth - whether I can give birth with my chosen midwife at her practice or whether I will need to be in a more high-risk environment at the hospital with an OB. I am running out of time to make this switch and the health of me and my baby is dependent on someone returning my calls or showing up to my appointments! Here is an example of a typical experience with Cabrillo Cardiology: I had an appointment scheduled for August 28 at 10am to hear the results of two tests that had been completed 3+ weeks earlier. This was a long difficult wait as is for these results. In the car on the way to my appointment I received a missed call from Dr. Evayzian's assistant that Dr. Evayzian was late and that I should come in at 1:15. Nobody asked if this time worked for me or apologized for the inconvenience. When I tried to call back, I had to call 4 times to reach someone at the location of my appointment. The person on the line there informed me that they had no record that Dr. Evayzian would be late and that I needed to come in at 10 for my originally scheduled time. Even though I informed them of the voicemail, and the fact that the drive would take me 45 minutes each way, they still insisted I needed to come in person. Upon arrival, low and behold, Dr. Evayzian is late, and can't see me. I'm pregnant, extremely tired, and expected at work that afternoon. I'm not able to sit for for 3+ hours and wait, so I ask if we can switch to a Telehealth appointment. They agree. All afternoon I have my phone on me but I don't get a call. This Tuesday I call back and ask if there is any follow up. They inform me that they called me and I didn't pick up. I have gone through my phone logs - I have no missed calls from Cabrillo Cardiology or voicemails from Thursday afternoon. I feel gas lit, frustrated, and saddened. Now I'm told the next time someone will have time to call me is 9 days away. 9 days! And not even Dr. Evayzian himself, just his assistant . For a simple phone call! Am I healthy or am I not? Where will I be having this baby? I'm nearly in tears. I can confidently say that Cabrillo Cardiology is the most forgotten I have ever felt as a patient. And I used to be with Kaiser! I cannot recommend this group and will strongly be advising my primary care physician to not send patients here. All the nurses are really kind and lovely. Shout out to the gal who does my EKG in Camarillo and the ladies who helped me get set up with my holter monitor in Oxnard. Y'all are the silver lining of my experience. read more

Office runs behind on appointments. Scheduling is a disaster. Usually I get 2 or 3 conflicting dates every time I schedule. They do not send out paperwork when promised. Cabrillo cardiology is a well run facility to treat and test for any and all heart related conditions and I'm sure many other patient concerns. It took me exactly 6 months to see Dr. Rothschild because he is one of the best. I can tell you this much he is well educated, has fantastic bedside manners because he took the time and answered every question my wife and I had an explained it in layman terms thoroughly if we didn't understand. It was a long wait to see him, but it was definitely worth it because of his thorough knowledge and professionalism. Overall just a great place to go to because everyone there is very thorough and very friendly and easy to talk with. Surprisingly the shortest wait time I've experienced in a long long time. No one likes visiting the doctor, but if you have to Cabrillo cardiology and Dr. Rothschild are definitely high on my list. ""Fine Job dr. The front desk "Women" are super rude and treat you like you are a pest! They have no sympathy for people at all. I have yet to meet my cardiologist in person. All is over the phone. We are new patients to the practice. After seeing Dr Obed in the hospital we had follow up appointment. This was to be Phone appointment. After confirming the appt twice the time came and went and no call. Call was rescheduled for the next week and again no call from the Dr at the appointment time. He did call later. Now my husband next appointment is 6 months out. His blood pressure still has high readings. In addition they were supposed to renew my husbands prescription and that did not occur. Now I am calling them on a Friday trying to get a renewed prescription before the weekend and run out of medication. I don't feel this Dr is invested in my husbands health and well being. Staff cuts you off mid sentence and transfers you to an extension. I do not recommend this Office or staff and suggest you find a Dr. with the time and interest in caring for you and a staff that listens. read more

11/10/20 - as of today Dr. Sovari has not contacted my father for his surgery follow up that happens almost 2 months ago. The doctor has rescheduled time and time again. His assistant Michelle has been no help at all. I lost count of how many messages I've left Michelle with no call back regarding any of them. The only times I've spoken to her has been for Dr. Sovari's appointment cancellations. My father and I are tired of this and want to know what we need to do to have a follow up consultation or change to a different doctor. Truly disappointed on how (we) my father has been treated. It's been a frustrating experience dealing with the front staff. My father is a patient and he hasn't experience such a bad service. I understand that you're short staffed but given that it's been 7 month since the pandemic started, your office should have established some standards and return calls in a timely manner. Everytime I have had a need to call it goes to voicemail and I've never received a call back regarding my concern, never. The schedule appointments are never kept, instead they are rescheduled or the Dr. calls 2 or 3 hours past the schedule time, it's like dealing with your cable provider but at least they give you a time window not a fixed time. Cabrillo Associates is the worst medical establishment in Ventura County for cardiac heart care. Dr. Scott A. Zager and his staff canceled and rescheduled three consecutive necessary appointments! Each appointment with Dr. Zager, according to his rude staff, needs to be booked six months in advance, making a regular heart appointment being pushed 1.5 years late. Do not attempt to request time off your work for an appointment with Dr. Zager, as he cancels last minute, even if you wait for two hours. Do not waste insurance or your own money on doctors that could care less about their patients' health. Do not take my word for it, just read Cabrillo Cardiology Medical Group reviews from other patients and you will see that there is a pattern of cancelations and long wait times. I recommend that no person ever give this Dr. or medical facility a try! read more

I have seen Dr Schmidt for many years and he's always been knowlegeable, professional, thorough and dedicated to patients. They run a great clinical office and yes, there have been times when the wait has been long, other times I'm seen right away. They are CARDIOLOGISTS not your General Practitioner, which means there will be emergencies of a cardio-thoracic nature; people with symptoms of stroke, heart attack or breathing difficulties, which require immediate attention as they are life-threatening and will be taken care of ASAP. Unlike your GP, who's dealing with colds, flu and stomach-aches, cardio-thoracic emergencies will be seen ahead of someone who's there for a check-up. If you were having the symptoms, you'd want that too! read more

I had to have surgery, angagram. Dr Rothschild was the cardiologist that was doing my surgery. Spoke with him to day before, seemed nice and caring. So on 5/16/19 he did my surgery, when he was finishing he told me to made an appointment within 10 day for a follow up. So I did. The day before my visit he office canceled it. So I reschedule a new appointment. The morning of that appointment they also canceled. Now again I schedule another appointment for today 7/8/19. I take off work an drive from NORTHRIDGE to Oxnard office for my 4.pm appointment. When I get there they said they called to cancel this appointment as well. When I got home the message on my machine was 3:29pm. Of course I was on my way there. I'm done with these people so unprofessional. You hope your DR. cares, they don't. Talked to DR. Dr. Sovari is an excellent electrophysiologist. However he has a new assistant that never answers her phone when you call her.The prior one did. I went in for an appointment with Dr. Sovari and he signed a cardiac authorization for my surgery.A week later I had not heard anything from the Dr.'s office about scheduling the surgery.They informed me that they contacted Cabrillo Cardiology and the authorization was not on file. It turns out that the new assistant failed to put it in my file. By the time I was able to get ahold of the assistant which required me visiting two different Cardiology offices today ,my surgery has been pushed back long enough that my EKG will have expired by the surgery date, so I have to get another EKG next week, wait another week for that before they will schedule my surgery and pay another co-pay which I would not have had to had she placed my authorization in my file. read more

Never have I dealt with a doctor's office that is unprofessionally ran, inconsistent with judgment, and deceptive towards clientele. I was initially referred to Cabrillo by my PCP and was told initially by Dr. Sovari that based on EKG scans I had, that I most certainly had AFiB and without ever meeting me wanted me to begin taking daily aspirin. When I go to my PCP to take EKG scans they come back negative for AFiB, and when I officially go to the cardiologist, Dr. Sovari is nowhere to be found, but has one of his assistants run the EKG scan, to which results in no AFiB. Two weeks later, they suddenly change their mind and want to refer me to a specialist for "possible AFiB", after being told three different things on three different occasions. After seeing these reviews on Yelp and on Google only reaffirms that while I did not have AFiB, the office was looking for ways to get more money out of me. I would not trust their medical judgment or ethics, and if you are referred to this cardiologist to do everything in your power to see a different cardiologist in the Central Coast region. read more

This office seems to love to surprise patients with nearly year-old statements! My husband had to have aneurysm surgery last December, thus he went to Cabrillo for a routine stress test & doppler study to clear him for surgery a couple weeks before the surgery in late November. Well, its mid-October, nearly 1 year later and we just received the FIRST bill for these services, nearly $500! With all the other bills of surgery, hospital stay, other tests, surgeon (not from Cabrillo Cardiology) we thought we had paid everything. I read some of the reviews that were somewhat negative on the doctors at Cabrillo Cardiology Medical Group. I would be irritated too if my appointments were cancelled somewhat, however, if the doctor is SAVING SOMEONES LIFE and I have to reschedule my appointment, I consider that a minor inconvenience. I've actually been in the examining room when Dr. Rothschild's patient in another examining room was having a heart attack. I had to cancel. I had a near death experience during a routine angiogram by Dr. Rothschild - later learned that he had less than two minutes to reroute the blood that was filling my pericardium from my wrist to my femoral artery. I was coding. Heart team was called in. My routine angiogram that should have taken approximately a couple of hours turned into over 5 hours. I am sorry that someone might have had to reschedule their angiogram or routine office visit because of my emergency - however, Dr. Rothschild saved my life and I am forever grateful. As far as the waiting room time to see the Cardiologist, which has never been that long for me, I suggest that you speak with your Cardiologist and express your feelings or just seek out another Cardiologist in your area. read more

I was having severe chest pain due to stress. I was very nervous when I walked into the doctor's office. He started with a joke and I felt very comfortable, just being in his presence I knew I was in good hands. The man is an absolute professional in all ways. I posted on the page for their other office also. Dr. Obed and the others are excellent doctors and my mother never has anything but nice things to say about this center. There may be some scheduling conflicts, but this is not the fault of the doctors, nurses, etc. and is no reflection on the quality of care my mother gets. She is on medicare, and would be considered "low income", and unlike other experiences she's had, it has not hampered her care at this center. read more
