He is by far one of the best craftsmen in the area. He and his team were fast, efficient, on schedule, and completed the job in three days. He returned to check that everything was accurate, tight, and waterproofed. He is a consummate professional that I would trust with any job. The best of the best. I could not be happier.

He's not just a contractor we considered him a family aquaintence through his wife. We had one goal to move on before snow. He took 2 weeks after start date to get in our house and do work. But no biggy because he's a perfectionist. Right? Wrong. When I questioned him about being able to see drywall joints he threw a hissy fit and threatened to leave the job after being paid for some. After that day his work became sub par much worse than it already was. To this day we are still finding issues. $600 cabinets that aren't able to open because his capacity to look forward and see that trim would be blocking them was lacking. Our doors don't shut and there is a draft. Great during -20 degree weather and winter Right? We spent hundreds on trim and I spent hours staining it just to have to put it up crooked and split. He left 2 rooms untrimmed even though he agreed to do it. He rigged our electric stove wiring which seems like it could be unsafe. He left gaps between drywall joints. Couldn't put a toilet back on properly without it leaking all over. He cracked or split at a minimum of 5 of the 600 cabinets putting them up. The walls he put up are crooked and lean. If you ever run into this "man " I would look else where. To top it off he left a huge like of garbage he was supposed to take. Screws all over my yard and I end up getting a flat tire. And now to top it off the hack of a "contractor" that claims to be an anal perfectionist couldn't even put a sink in properly. The idiot couldn't cut pipe to length so he just set it there. Opened up sink to a flood of water. Keep reporting my posts you hack. I'll keep your face and info and shotty work all over social media. You should see how many people say your work sucks on FB.

Andy had given us a fair estimate to build a bathroom in our basement. One of the reasons why we hired Andy was because of his promised timeframe in starting and completing. We had just moved to NY and bought our house and we're looking forward to remolding. He gave us a start date of 7/20/20 and completion in three weeks. His 3 weeks turned into 23 weeks and is still not completed. We needed to cut ties with Andy at 23 weeks due to his countless broken promises and endless excuses. We paid Andy half up front which was $4500 and then again three months into the project he had asked for another $2,000 stating he needed to money to complete the job. We paid him in hopes and incentive to complete the job which never happened. Throughout the entire project there was little to NO communication on Andy's end. I continually needed to initiate whether it be text, email or call to see if any of his workers were coming to work on any given day. He either ignored my attempt to communicate or promised 'someone is on their way' or 'they'll be there tomorrow' his typical canned response to pacify us time and time again. I kept track of the hours worked, averaged at most 5 hours a week. We were beyond patient and understanding knowing there was a shortage of supplies as well as employees due to the pandemic. However; this is no excuse as to why we were given endless broken promises next to no communication. If I did not initiate I would not hear from Andy. I asked him nicely if he would please communicate to give us heads up as to what day and time if any they would be working so I could schedule my day accordingly. Never did he commit to a day nor time, it was always a guessing game and hoping someone would come to work on our bathroom. The workplace was in complete disarray and mess throughout the 23 weeks they worked. One instance, they did not cover the doorway with plastic while sanding drywall therefore, our personal belongings in the basement were covered in dust. This included a lot of hanging clothing which all needed to be washed. Another instance, I had picked out a toilet to be installed and had emailed Andy. He assured me he received and gave the ok. After installing the toilet, it was not what I chose. I then contacted Andy via text. He acknowledged it and told me he had given the toilet I chose to his employee to pick up. Again, told him it was not the correct toilet, he then ignored and did not respond to my text any further. I then bring it up again about a month later, he proceeds to tell me it was a special order. If that were the case, he should have told me before installing and he should have not ignored my text. It's a standard toilet, we do not need or did we request a special order toilet. I can assume he was not being honest and just didn't want to make it right. We needed to hire someone to clean the dust from the drywall, remove the garbage that was left by Andy and pay for a dumpster. My reason for this review to to hopefully save the next person from being taken advantage of. This was suppose to be a fun and exciting experience. It was nothing but a complete nightmare which was beyond frustrating and stressful to say the least. We are now left with an unfinished bathroom.

There were countless broken promises on the completion date with many excuses. We experienced immeasurable stress which ruined our staycation. Finally, the police had to get involved with him trespassing. (Shout out to the Bath PD and the Sheriff's Dept) I would not hire Arnold's Contracting to screw in a lighbulb and neither should you.

He thinks power washing somehow makes the other boards new. Quality of their work is the main problem. Will argue with you over the code even though you know that they are wrong. Asked his uncle to come over to show him how to make our porch stairs. I'm still having to come in behind them on issues like most of the privacy fence boards lack screws. So far I've used a box and a half and I'm still finding more and more boards that need screws. Some of the boards have already curled or bowed out making it hard to screw them in. You have to keep reminding them to do what was agreed to and still doesn't happen. Left without removing old electrical guides on the sides of the building. This was mentioned multiple times by both my wife and I. Left without removing the old deck stairs that were replaced so, I ended up doing it. For some reason they don't show up until 9:30 am to 10 am and leave around 2 pm. Scraping and painting was a challenge. We had to keep pointing out areas that were missed including painting. Broke a large limb off my dwarf peach tree without saying anything. I had to remove it and replaced with a Japanese maple that cost me $130.00. Shattered the outside plastic air vent without saying anything. My wife got them to replace it but, now we're trying to get one of them to come back and caulk where it meets the outside second story wall. What should have taken 3 weeks, took 7 weeks. I will sum up by saying that in the future, we will only hire them to haul what the garbage people won't take.
