Although Mother was in the Independent Living section, she was still cared for by staff - on a few occasions, they noticed changes in Mom's behavior and contacted us. This was life saving. We were so impressed with the staff - they were attentive, patient, helpful and most of all, kind. We had 100% confidence that Mother was in a safe, welcoming environment Most importantly, Mom was so happy there. She enjoyed the food, loved her apartment, and appreciated all of the activities and the many amenities such as the hair salon, exercise room/classes, church services and shuttle. And the wonderful residents were so warm and friendly. Mom developed many cherished friendships over the years. We felt so fortunate to have Mom living in such a fine facility that was actually affordable for the average person. Amber Glen was wonderful in providing care for my ailing father. He was moved from Special Care to Hospice within a few weeks and they always did their best to make sure he was safe and comfortable. And he was a handful. The administrators and nurses never seemed bothered by our requests and after visiting the facility several times before returning to California, I never worried about my father's care. A+. The facilities are spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The staff is outgoing, attentive and friendly. The quality of care is outstanding. There are numerous community lounging spaces to read, watch television or chat with neighbors. In the days we were visiting Champaign, we were truly amazed by the number of fun social activities (Super Bowl party, Mardi Gras, Chines New Year, Valentine's party, and more). When I had an accident on my way to work one morning, an was told I couldn't come back for 6 months because of the seizure I had.. Rose, Janet and Cindy were great. They never told me I had to come back to soon, or even talked about me losing my job. All they were concerned with was my health and well-being. This is the best company I have ever worked for, they care about their clients and workers alike. The training is always up to date and we even get reminders and optional extra training if we chose to, all to make sure the clients have the best care possible... Rose is the owner but is involved in ever aspect and that is refreshing to see it's not about the money for her but about the clients and workers.
