Yet, I have heard very good things about this place on the man side of things. Yes, I'll attempt to do a Barbers review based on things that I have heard from some of the males in my life. Please, cut me some slack here - this was not the easiest thing to do: "Oh you went there - what was it like?" "Good" "What'd you mean?" "That it was good" "Yes, but why??" "You know..." etc etc After some very direct questions I could fathom that this place is good because of the following: 1) You don't need an appointment. 2) You get a good, decent hair cut. 3) Said hair cut is done very quickly, but also to a high standard. 4) The prices are very reasonable and much as any other Barbers. 5) The staff are very friendly and chatty (and potentially flirty - though, this was coming from an egotistical male friend and the other two men did not mention anything along these lines at all). So all in all, top marks. If only, I could get the above without an appointment.

So having moved to Dennistoun I searched around for somewhere close by to get the mop chopped. I used to visit a barber in the Merchant City because generally barbers can give you a bit of a hatchet job/ short back and sides and I wanted someone who could actually cut hair according to face shape and style required etc. At Hair Co Paul, the owner, is the sort of snipper that knows what sort of style will suit and how to create that. The sign above the door proclaims 'Colour Specialist' as this is predominantly a ladies joint. Paul's two white Scotties wriggle around under your legs as he cuts and chats away adding to the charm of the place. You can tell he loves his work and his dogs and you feel relaxed and safe in the knowledge that you're not about to be sheared like a sheep. Most of all, for me, it's just a great haircut for a very cheap £9. Bargain. Highly recommended.

Paul was fantastic /friendly and welcoming and persuaded me to go for a new style. I love it...and honestly can't thank him enough, hence the review. Three hours (i needed a lot of conditioning) two cups of tea later...and only £20 lighter..out i went feeling much much happier than when i went in. This salon is situated at Clarkston Toll which made it handy for me to pop in for a trim on the way home from school many moons ago. I was never disappointed with my cut and I always left with my hair exactly the way I wanted it. I also got my first pair of GHD's here so it holds a special place in my heart. The prices are reasonable, you can get a stand-by cut for around £25 and if you phone up they usually have special offers on than you can take advantage off. The staff are also really chatty and even though I don't go anymore, one of my old school friends still does as she just feels so at home at this salon. The shop is modern, light and you will always be offered teas, coffee and juice while you are waiting which is great.

Really really great experience here thanks to stylist Amy!…read more Walked in, hair perfectly frizzy and wind blown, thanks to Glasgow's ever changing weather patterns, and even though I was a bit early, I was taken in straight away for a consultation and a nice head massage. I absolutely love Aveda salons because not only are their products plant derived and naturally made, their salons have high standards for their clients, and offer amazing side services like a free head massage. Anyway, not having had my hair cut since before new years eve, I was looking pretty ratty. To be fair, it's mid cram time for exams, and I barely towel dry my hair in the morning before I'm rushing off to the library to study. Today was no exception. Amy and I discussed what I wanted done with my hair, she gave me some advice, and we came to the conclusion that in order to grow my hair out the way I want, she was going to take my current style (a grown out inverted bob) and shape it in a way that would eventually even out all the layers to start the long process of properly growing out my hair. Hair shampooed and conditioned (with Aveda products obviously!), I sat back in the chair for some friendly banter and an amazing hair cut. Amy is super friendly and very knowledgeable, I felt like I was in capable hands, and had no worries whatsoever that she might sheer me bald or layer my fringe (what most hair stylists want to do first when they see me). We had loads to talk about from 24 being one of the best shows around, to how I met my boyfriend and the love story that is my every day life. It was a great wee chat. Once it was all said and done, my hair was perfect. I've always wanted to find someone who could shape my hair to the style that I've seen in magazines a while back that I can never seem to get done to my hair, but I think Amy is a diamond in the rough as far as being able to properly cut my hair...and me actually love it!! Checking out, I realised there was a Yelp deal (a tenner off services) and I also got the student discount. With all that savings, I thought it the perfect time to pick up some products to treat myself for once! I love Aveda products- my hair really responds to them and every one should start using them! I had previously had Kerastraight treatment 4 months before in a Clydebank salon which proved to be disastrous and was more than a little worried about finding one that could actually provide what it advertised. Sweeney Todd's is a friendly salon with 3 stylists and has a lovely atmosphere. There's handy parking outside and nearby. If you are looking for a good hairdresser give it a try.
