And let's not forget the menu for the kids!! All day breakfast is what brings the family and I to Smitty's - the menu is very complete and delicious. You can find eggs, meats, cubed and shredded hashbrowns, toast, pancakes and crepes, skillets, omelettes and eggs Benedict. I have eaten a variety of breakfast items at the restaurant: the classic traditional eggs and bacon, eggs Benedict, omelettes as well as skillets. It's hard to say which one is the best or my favourite - I would say that the food prepared and served at any Smitty's I have eaten at is fresh, of exceptional quality and quantity (no need for snacking until the next meal). I also had the opportunity to try a few of their burgers and chicken quesadilla, fish & chips and southern fried chicken, all very delicious!! Service is very friendly, professional and rapid. The ambiance is very relaxing as well, which enables you to take it easy if by oneself, or having a casual conversation with fiends or family. There were two fridges for frozen meals that could be taken home and reheated. There were some basic groceries such as eggs as well. Of course, being a bakery, there were lots of breads, buns and pastries. Our orders didn't take long, but since there are no tables everything was to go. That's okay, I can eat in the car. My wife said her BLT was especially good. My breakfast sandwich was very filling but also tasty and not messy so it was easy to eat in the car. My coffee was not so great. It tasted like what I often make at home. That is something that Violet Mae's could improve on. However if you are passing through town and looking for a place for a quick lunch to go, or you need to pick up some bread for later, this is your place.
