Because the amount of back & forth I experienced before hand is ridiculous. Acting like my transcript has germs on it and making me send it over & over again because "I have a class in progress" which simply means I just needed to pay for it and acting like their so incompetent to understanding made me even more mad. A whole year has passed and I got accepted at 3 other Florida colleges. They evaluated my transcripts, did my aid package, and set me up for orientation to understand the platforms to do my work. So I had to come back and write my new experiences. The book store employee Peggy, I think, is her name (older white lady) is so rude & nasty!! She had no patience. Thank goodness I was able to get my book somewhere else because she didn't motivate me to spend a penny there with her nasty attitude. If you're looking for diverse food options, you will not find it here. They only have Subway, and Smoothie King opened. Papa John's closed. THEY SO CHEAP & CRAZY!! THEY CHARGE FOR SPOONS, & FOLKS. The book store charges too!! After paying for classes & they can't give me a folk!! I have to pay $.60 cents ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! No one cleans the cafe!! The tables are dirty, the floor is sticky, and the microwaves are super nasty! I see a lot of people use the microwave, and they are not complaining.... Just nasty. There are sitting areas inside and outside. They need to do better!! If you have a form of transportation, there are plenty of off-campus food options not far at all. If you don't have transportation, bring your own food because I know I would be bored with the limited food options & PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR UTENSILS!! read more

0 stars if I could. This school is ridiculous. Countless times, I have been screwed over by the staff, putting me in a corner for failure. At this point, it feels severely predatory. Last year, I have missed a whole entire year of attending Broward College due to someone's mistake of not submitting my form properly after their own mistake of forcing me to pay for courses I didn't register for. I had evidence of documents and emails, and they kept pressuring me to pay as if it were my mistake. It wasn't until I had a severe mental breakdown in the office that I was given a chance to be withdrawn with a refund. I was on top of them every week on the status of my refund form. Apparently, it was completed, and despite me pressing on the issue, it was completed over half a year ago from that point, meaning I was constantly LIED to and BRUSHED OFF REPEATEDLY They made me waste so much time off. Now, this year, I've had another issue happen. I paid for a course, and it was marked as unpaid due to the mistake of a cashier in the cashier's office. Since August 24, I've been trying to get reinstated into my session 3 DEP2002 course. The course ends October 4. As of now, today is September 25. I've been on top of these people constantly messaging the cashier's office, student accounts, ombudsman office, my professor, etc. Only when I submitted an email to have me MOVED to a session 4 course or put the money towards NEXT SEMESTER. Am I FINALLY acknowledged but REINSTATED into the class when there's only a WEEK left. I can not withdraw, and I am forced to receive an F for something out of my control. As of now, I am still fighting. This is a disgusting and predatory practice. This can qualify for negligence. Please do not attend this place as even if you provide documentation and you are in the right, they WILL try to screw you over. I self advocate regularly, and I'm on top of the issue constantly, yet I am mistreated severely. 0/10. Disgusting school. read more

The college made a mistake and did not display a grant offered. I have no idea that I had been offered a grant and no financial aid was offered on the financial aid of the Broward college website. Instead of dropping me from the course for non-payment (as is their policy) they took the grant then charged me for the class that I had no idea there was a grant. Now they are charging me in insane late fee charge (hundreds of dollars since fall term. I am short a few classed for my degree and they will not only take ownership of their issue but the have now sent me into a black hole trying to hide their mistake. No accountability for staff up to and including the Deans. I have been waiting over a month after I showed up to the school and the Dean over the cashiers office refused to see me. I have requested a formal meeting with the Dean 3/17/25 and fully expect to be ignored again. I will put my updates here. read more

This is not to discredit the professor and others who helped me during the three years at Broward College. But the advisor has to do better. I started college again in 2023 after completing a degree in 2009. I always ask questions because I don't want to be in a predicament. I have asked this question about Anatomy 1 being expired because it's been over ten years, but at the same institution. We had a terrible experience with admissions. My daughter called and explained she's out of state and wished to take online classes. Was given the run around and was told she'd have to get her transcripts before she could get help choosing classes. What? The information they gave was very unhelpful so I called myself. I asked and finally got an answer they could've given in the first place Then asked if there was a department helping disabled students and the lady on the phone was so rude about it and just said no we don't and I said well I find that hard to believe and then she changed to well yes we do. At that point I just canceled it and will look for another college. After looking at the reviews it looks like we made the right choice. I have been going to this school for two years here, the customer service is horrible. Mainly, in the office Financial Aid and Advising are extremely unprofessional. Right now I have COVID, trying to register for my classes, meaning I had to call the school and get appointed to advising. In the phone call it says to dial the number to get attended by advising. The person I spoke to was not advising and was completely unprofessional then said to call a different number to reach advising? Why is this school so unorganized and the staff completelu disrespectful. We are paying the school and keeping their jobs still on the line, we just need guidance and help to be able to learn. 2020 Honors grad here. While I agree with other reviews on admissions staff being incompetent, the college overall was great. Most of, if not all, my professors were from FAU, NOVA & University of Miami. In fact, my MGF1106 class was the exact same that the professor taught to his class at FIU. I paid $117 per credit hour though. What a steal. All my credits transferred to FAU and I currently have a 3.8 GPA at Florida Atlantic University. Getting my AA at Broward really prepared me for the 3000/4000 level classes at university. Pro tips: meet with your advisor often and do not be above using "word count memes" for real! 3000 word minimum? Change that "also" to "in addition to." Change "This suggests" to "Therefore elucidating the impression that." Sprinkle that in like Salt Bea! Huge thanks to the math lab for helping me get a B+ in STA2023. I finally had a chance to see a play at Broward Bailley Hall. I took my daughter. To spend our quality time watching the "Christmas Story Musical". We arrived 15 mins before the show was going to start. The parking lot was not crowded and it was close to the building to walk up to. As we entered we were welcomed by the smiling greeters and sent to the will call area. There was short lines and a table with the two ladies checking you in. Once we went into the auditorium the seats were wherever you chose. Thank goodness we brought sweaters it was chilly. The show was non stop, end of your seat. entertainment. My first musical. If you'd like to spend extra money and not graduate on time, this is the college to attend. They make it difficult to register and they give out false information regarding program requirements and class sequencing, which will prolong your time as a student so they can get the most money out of you as they can. They require that you take classes and electives but then don't offer half of the electives that are supposedly available (and I'm talking throughout multiple semesters, the electives aren't offered at all) so you're stuck taking classes of their choice, if they're even available for the semester you need. Though the professors are often great and the campuses are nice, the school itself is not worth it. I have two degrees from another college, in which I had no problems with the advisors, deans or graduating. If you decide to attend Broward College, beware and good luck. read more

This review is written for the 3501 building as a facility and not for any BC courses. I was attending a conference held on the BC campus. This building was functional and for the sessions which were overcrowded, I will attribute it to the event planners and not BC. What I will comment on is the lack of restrooms. For the few minutes between sessions, the single ladies room was not enough to accommodate the many women and I imagine it would be the same when classes are being held. There appeared to be plenty of parking but be prepared as the entrance is within the courtyard requiring a run when raining. read more

I hope this message gets to the Board of Directors since I couldn't find any contact information where to send an email explaining the poor quality customer service rendered when I decided to register for classes there. I am a state employee and I have a tuition waver. When I finally find the section where I am supposed to upload my signed waiver, I only got to see one link that would take me to the Jimmy Patrons Website to verify employment. I overlooked the other form of verification that was uploading the signed sheet (Which I already had), But the system let me go through! ONE day before the class started, my request was denied. I tried calling, when I finally got a hold of someone, that person put an escalation claim and i was expected to be called within 2 days. I never did, and today I just got a email saying that it was denied. That was lack of professionalism and respect to those who put a trust in that institution. Broward college is awful. Advisors do not care, they do not advice but read off their website. They do not advise when you give them your opinion on classes and what you want out of life. The particular program I'm in I had to wait a whole year just to be mixed with generic students. Not only that they switch your campuses at the last minute. I'm so fed up of this school and if I knew what I know now, I would've paid the 30k at the private school to get my degree in a fraction of the time and money I've spend at this dump. I strongly dislike this place. Some of these professors are so rude and disgusting. Just because someone has a degree doesn't mean they are necessarily intelligent. That's what some of these professors prove. They grade incorrectly, they don't teach properly, and have a bad attitude. It's unfortunate we have to pretend to kiss you know what to get decent grades since they take everything so personal. If you want a so-so paying job where you can never get fired, be a professor! You go to the dean with your classmates about a disorganized good for nothing professor that messes up your grades, and they do absolutely nothing about it! Even with proof as clear as day! I think some of them tend to forget we are attending college and lots of us will end up having a higher title than them or making a lot more money. Between reapplying to the school and financial aid, I've been back and forth to Central Campus about 7 times because of lack of communication and knowledge. Some of their staff is a disgrace to helping people, it is beyond ridiculous to have to wait 60-95 minutes in the financial aid office to get a question answered! Every time I called (all campuses), it was the same thing, press 1 for financial aid, press 2 for customer support, pres 3 blah blah blah, nothing is available for me to speak to someone at the book store. I have lived in multiple places around the country and this school is by far the worst I've ever been to. My professors haven't been bad, and that's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. I attended 01-04 nursing it was great from day 1 the administration office took care of everything that 1st day. Entrance test financial aid classes was a great experience. I wasn't able to graduate due to an accident I sustained a serious head injury. This month I called I was told to go there and what to bring I was like great same as last time. NOT. I have never been so disgusted. 1st it's only students to help guide you so good luck cause they don't care or they are seriously Incompetent I think both. I went there for nothing yes nothing I was told to go home use my computer we are in a technological age so no person to help. I am disabled now yes but not stupid. I got sent from one thing to another everytime I called I got a different response as what to do. But one thing remained the same you are on your own. So what the hell am I paying for. This place had me feeling like maybe I shouldn't return to school maybe I am now stupid my GPA is 348. I expect I would have to work harder this time around but I'm not stupid. These kid advisors made me sick. Is this the type of ppl we are putting out into our world. Lazy rude and cruel. Yes I'm 44 and now disabled I have a right to finish my education and to be treated with respect. Maybe their parents should have put these kids over knee once in a while maybe then they would be respectful and courteous instead of behaving like spoiled privileged little brats who roll their eyes at you with every question you ask Such a disgrace. Broward College is great. I'm most of the way through my AA and I don't owe a dime. For me it's a stepping stone to the next level. This campus is nice, it's almost as aesthetically pleasing as the private university I briefly attended in New Jersey. Lots of benches and fields and landscaping. There's a decent gym that you can go to if you're a student. The hours are not great though. Working full time makes it difficult to see how I could ever make it here to work out... I'll stick to LA Fitness. As long as you check out rate my professor you'll probably end up with a decent professor, as most of them teach at neighboring nova, FAU and FIU. They all say the classes are exactly the same. I'm not totally convinced but for practically free tuition this place is pretty awesome. read more

Since the semester is coming to an end and I will no longer be taking classes here, I thought I would put in my two cents. I graduated with my B.S. from one of the top public university in the nation. I know quality education. I've also taken summer courses at some of the other public universities in the area. From my experience, BC provides equal quality of education from all the universities I've ever attended. In fact, I would go as far as saying that some of the classes I've taken were even better than those other schools, specifically their science courses (A&P, Microbiology, etc..). In some cases, my classes were much harder here. However, I flourished, because of the small class sizes and attention and interpersonal relationships I received from my professors at BC. This type of close attention and personal interaction with your professors is extremely hard to get at larger universities. Plus, all the science teachers always made sure to teach what you the stuff that is relevant to your future career (nursing, med school, PT, etc...). In addition, it is very affordable to attend here. Tuition is low, parking decals are free, you have a number of campuses and classes to take, and they have most of the amenities of a large university (recreation center, bookstore, libraries, dining areas, etc..). Also, they have great Bachelor programs such as the Nursing program, which has a very positive reputation among local hospitals. So on to the cons...A good number of my lab books HAD to be purchased at the BC bookstore, which we all know Amazon or Chegg is always prefered (college students need to save $$). On top of that, you had to wait like an hour or more at all times of the day in order to buy books right before or the first few days of classes. It's a mess. The same is the case for registration or advising. The drop/add system in the beginning of the semester doesn't make sense. They should look to the larger universities on how to do this properly, because they just suck at this. You aren't getting the same type of college experience as larger universities (Greek life, large student involvement opportunities, dorm life, etc...). All in all, my opinion is that if you want to save money by living at home and getting a low - cost education, this place is great. Maybe get your A.A. then transfer for you Bachelors. Or finish with your Bachelors here if you want and don't mind not having that stereotypical "college experience". Better yet, if you need summer courses or just need to pre-reqs then I say DEFINITELY take those courses here. read more

I recently decided that I wanted to start to learn Spanish so I looked around for an adult education class in downtown Ft. Lauderdale and ended up finding Broward College. I signed up for a 6 week class that meets on Tuesday nights from 6-10 pm and just finished it. The teacher was so nice and helpful. He had a fast paced class that covered so much that I feel like I have a very good beginners knowledge of Spanish. He gave a good amount of homework but not so much that it was not doable. He gave us tons of handouts, had us practice a lot in class, and was very thorough explaining everything. I am excited to finally be speaking a second language and especially in this town. I went to BC/BCC for about four years on and off. Looking back on it now, it was a great experience. This is mostly about Davie/Central. I commuted from Sunny Isles Beach/NMB, which could take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour depending on what time my classes were. The people I met at Broward College were some of the most interesting and inspiring people. Even now as I finish my degree at Boston College, I must admit the awesomeness of the Broward College students I studied with and knew. This is not about the large amount of students who sit in the back rows, may come in stoned, and talk all through class. This is about the hardworking students who balanced actual jobs with going to college. I met so many different types of people. People with a job, and full-time curriculum with dreams of having their own business. I met people who moved here as teens from South America or the Caribbean, worked, and went to classes at BC. People who are truly from all walks of life, coming together on one campus. Were the results always good? No. But I met some great people I hope to keep in touch with for years to come. While big fancy colleges like Harvard and Boston College boast about their diversity in students (in both life experience and culturally), they pale in comparison. Broward College is a great example of why colleges should be diverse. Some cons are being in the middle of nowhere, dispassionate staff and faculty, and EXTREMELY poor student services. read more

I loved some of the professors here, one in the Psych department (Stephen Phillips )was particularly great. His lectures were always filled with stories and jokes that actually taught you something.
