I attended all four years of college at NSU. I graduated in 2001 and it really feels like a lifetime ago. They have remodeled it since then and it is really, really nice and modern now. The library is like night and day from when I attended, lol I remember eating lunch with friends there sometimes and I thought the food was really good. I went for an Education degree with a Minor in Information Technology. The classes had maybe 25 students. It almost felt like a high school. I was pretty happy there. I do remember tuition was pretty high, especially for an Education degree. I would say that was the biggest downside. Oh yeah, parking was tough too. I like how the campus has such a variety of degrees offered. I know a dentist and Optometrist and even a lawyer who I went to high school with. I have gone to a few Alumni events along the way and they have been first class. I like how they have get together at sporting events. read more

They were recruiting for a clinical research study so I completed an interview to participate. At the end, they asked me to stop taking all of my medications that my primary care physician prescribes so that they could do bloodwork. They said I only have to stop taking my medications for one week. I cussed the researchers out and told them that patients have to be compliant with their doctors and I could die if I were to stop taking my medications! Obviously this school has nothing to offer people seeking careers. Stay away! read more

I attempted to enroll at Nova back in 2015, but changed my mind. I now need a non enrollment letter and it is like pulling teeth. I tried in 2024 and stopped due to their unresponsive nature in the transcript office. Fast forward to two years later and I am still experiencing the same issue. How difficult can it be to fill out a pre filled letter and email to where it needs to go? My feedback was they are backed up and are not sure when they will get around to preparing the letter! It makes No Sense! read more

Shannon F Worton, a professor at this university put me through hell for falling in love. I made attempts to try a console or even find out what happened when she posted about her father missing and sent chocolate as well. She has filed a civil injunction for stalking like a crazy person. I never once spoke to her in person during this entire ordeal. Not once. She assumed malicious intent, and that was incorrect. The judge Michael G Kaplan failed to proved due process and allow me to reschedule the hearing that she summoned me to. I had one week to completed my full Time schooling and travel over 50 miles to Ft. Lauderdale without a motor vehicle, nor food, as food stamps had been cancelled while I was eligible. I called the secretary and she also failed to understand when I stated that I called the disability services phone number for accommodations in arriving, attending and importantly understanding the entire process. Without a lawyer, living under the federal poverty limit. They discriminated against me, both the judge and secretary. The 17th district county courthouse needs to be scrutinized severely for engaging in unfair and discriminatory conduct. The case documents state 'Shannon Fidellis Worton' however, that's not the person I had even attempted to communicate with.. online has record of that fact, documents used to prove her own case, submitted by her, her attorney, or someone else, and it could be clerical error, however, I would not know as they provided no opportunity to hear my side of the story, due process. How can you bring charges against someone without due process or even knowing who the accuser is? Or without having a feasible, or even possible way of attending a court hearing. read more

Nova Southeastern University is an easy review to write. Five Stars for arranging a curriculum for individuals currently employed and working full time in Human Services. I worked in Human Services and wanted a promotion. I had started my Master's Degree once already in Kentucky and did not finish it. When I moved to Broward County Florida I had a small child and goals for our future. A Master's Degree in Human Services would set me apart giving me more opportunities to move up in my career to a management position. Nova Southeastern had a Master's degree where I worked during the day and went to class weeknights and on Saturdays. It took me a year and 1/2 and a semester internship in a 24 hour facility to get my Masters Degree. This program allowed me to work my full time job into my schedule and get my degree without missing work. My parents were helping me by taking care of my daughter while I was in school. At the end of my long career I had contracting, procurement, management skills and more that could carry over to other professions. I ended my career working for an environmental protection organization here in New York City. I highly recommend Nova for what they did in my life. I hope they still offer these types of educational opportunities. I have my Master of Science Degree in Human Services. I am proud of it because I worked hard to make it happen and it was expensive too! It paid off though! read more

If you want to wait three months and still not be helped in a meaningful way, called by multiple student doctors, talk to them one time and they can never be reached again, this is the place. This place gives ZERO EFFS about people and will kidnap your time for hours at your initial visit....almost four hours for me. My "dentist" couldn't even figure out the X-ray machine, and left me there for 45 minutes while he chatted it up with his colleague, and after waiting for HIM would t even let me get a cup of water that I was in process of doing, to take pain meds. They hide pricing until three more visits of doing.... ...ill wait! They are really just about Vets insurance which is why they asked me a total of four times Thanks for nothing andnow I understand the reputation. Trash can school. read more

I honestly regret choosing NSU because of how terrible the financial aid office is. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and completely unhelpful. Every time you call or email, you either get ignored or given different answers by different people. They act like it's an inconvenience to help students, and half the time, they don't even seem to know what they're talking about. Another huge issue is the random charges they keep adding to student accounts. You'll check your balance, and suddenly there's an extra fee with no explanation. When you ask about it, they either brush you off or give a vague excuse that doesn't make sense. Meanwhile, financial aid takes forever to process, and if you're waiting on refunds or loan disbursements, good luck--because they move at their own pace with no sense of urgency. For how expensive NSU is, you'd think they'd have a competent financial aid office, but instead, they make everything as difficult as possible. If you don't have outside funding and rely on financial aid, just know you're going to be chasing them down constantly. It's stressful, frustrating, and honestly unacceptable for a university that charges this much. read more

Don't go here if you don't want to be treated like a number and ATM machine. Went here 1 semester and dropped out due to various reasons. Gave them 2 weeks notice. They still charged me for the next semester and took $10K from FAFSA and have been trying to track me down for years for an additional 1.2K they say I owe cause I didn't give them 20 days notice. They will get that money no matter what and they DO NOT care about you or that you didn't even receive the education or credits from that semester. You're just a place holder. Terrible school with terrible ethics. read more

I had the most disgusting experience at this school. The first week of class Jan 2022 I was Severely Ill with Covid and then had life altering event of job loss and I withdrew. They are now threatening me to charge me 5 Thousand dollars and send it to collections to ruin my credit! They could care less that my income changed, and that I was severely sick. I withdrew on a Monday because Sunday was the deadline and obviously there was NO way to reach someone on a Sunday! read more

On this visit, I was attending the annual PASS SQL Saturday event. It was held in the Carl DeSantis Building at 3301 College Ave. The building was the perfect setting with the registration held in the entry area. The first floor auditorium was the setting for the opening keynote speech. From there the technology conference broke into multiple sessions in classrooms throughout the building. The rooms I was able to see were designed to comfortably seat about 40+ but we were a larger group so standing and floor seating was required. The center atrium was ideal for the vendor fair, breakfast and lunch with plenty of seating, bright light and an very open feeling. I cannot attest to the quality of education offered by Nova Southeastern University but this feels like an excellent learning environment. read more

Nova? What's Nova? Well, after one visit I'm not asking myself silly, admittedly embarrassing questions like that any more. Being the product of several large, rather smug, heavily endowed universities of the northeast, I've had a tendency to overlook or to simply ignore institutions of the southeast. I shouldn't have done that and I'm embarrassed by the fact that I did do that as one good tour of Nova Southeastern proved to be a revealing eye opener to me. First off, it has a drop dead gorgeous campus, well planned, well thought out, but beyond that Nova clearly has a dedicated faculty and staff all possessed of top credentials. I was particularly impressed with every department of learning seemingly having an open door policy, helpful to any student with the instructor or professor actually being available to any student with just about any individual learning need. The schools I attended had none of that, with each student being expected to fend for themselves and the opportunity of actually obtaining a one on one appointment with a professor, a totally unheard of event. read more

Do not waste your time or energy here. Right now is COVID times. This school has a "no retake" policy on its labs! Yes, that's right we are expected to take labs online and if the Professor isn't used to teaching online (which who knew this wound happen) .. you're stuck with the grade!!!! There is nothing you can do. So basically NOVA only accepts privileged people. Why not just come out and say that? read more

Somehow I made through 16-17 years of public school and then came to grad school where the tuition is the most expensive-and ended up at a private school. Nova is a beautiful campus. It has lovely amenities. There are wonderful teachers. But you will pay dearly for all of it. Coming as an out of state student for a doctoral program, I knew tuition wasn't going to be cheap. But compared to being a scholarship student at a public state school my jaw dropped when I got my yearly financial aid statement at the beginning of first year. It comes with the territory I guess, but I would love to be able to utilize more of the campus resources (aside from the library). Being in a program that is such a time suck makes it a little tougher to enjoy the gym, campus center, etc. I really do enjoy being a student here but some of the HPD policies are a little insane considering every student is an adult. I understand the uniform policy (scrubs, big deal-they're comfortable), but some instructors mandate you come to class or dock your grade. As an adult this is irritating because we don't all learn the same way-and again-I'm paying you a ton. I should be able to skip if I want and read notes for my 8am at 7pm when I'm more focused. I do enjoy being a student here-but we pay dearly for it. read more

I attended NSU in 2010 for the masters program in Mental Health. It's a beautiful campus in a great location. The Davie area has plenty of apartments near-by that students can rent from if they decide not to board at Nova. It's also accessible to restaurants, stores, and the Broward mall. Nova provides up-to-date and interactive classroom settings both on & off campus. The student to teacher ratio is high in this university so expect a good amount of students in your classes. The majority of the professors are excellent but the administration is not something I can praise. Asking a question felt like you were such a bother to the staff. To me, Nova resembles a lot like a hospital setting, cold and lifeless on the inside and nothing other than the great education you'll be receiving will somewhat make-up for it. This is not a party school but I value feeling like I belong to a school. Maybe it was different for me because the evening program I was in was geared towards working students, so pretty much the students came to school and did what they had to do and left. There was just no sense of community among your classmates. Oh well, I guess you can't have it all. read more

I transferred to this school because I am disabled and thought the school would be more accommodating than my last. I was wrong. I brought my service dog with me to school as he's a medical alert dog. The school is over run with aggressive dogs the students have as "ESAs" I made friends with the other service dog handler on campus and she ended up leaving the school for the semester out of fear for her service dog. I stayed and made multiple safety reports, emails, and complaints to the schools disability department. They did absolutely nothing and said "we can't remove any of the aggressive animals because it would be like getting rid of every kid that gets in a fight" which is not safe at all. I quickly realized they were never going to do anything to fix the issue. My dog had been attacked 5 times on campus and they never did anything. I have since left the school to pursue a dog trainer career. If you are disabled and have an assistance animal do NOT go to this school. read more

As someone who only sees this campus as a spectator I can say that I like what I see. It is a thriving campus that seems to grow every year. New buildings, new sports fields, new dormitories and much more. My sons play lacrosse one on of their many beautiful turf fields. read more

I love my university! I'm here for grad school getting my MBA! Professors are awesome so far and so are all the faculty. Students get free parking with a registered card! Which is great because other universities will charge you per card, at least here it's in with your tuition. The gym is great and so is the pool also! The D.O. program is the worst medical school in the US. I graduated as an MD thirty years ago, but I sent my daughter to a DO school thinking they would be more humanist in orientation. Wrong. This school is actively hostile to its own students. They cancelled not one, but two, of my daughter's AWAY rotations the day after they started. They told her for the first that she had 45 minutes to arrange another rotation or her graduation would be delayed for a year. Incredibly, my daughter did it. Except when she called the school to inform them, they had left early. The second time, they informed her that she would have to do independent study, but it would not delay graduation. Sure enough, when graduation time rolled around, they told her she couldn't graduate. She ended up doing another rotation after graduation. The quality of the clinical education is horrible. They are observorships, not active clerkships. Never apply to this school. read more

I went to Nova about 2 months ago to get a wisdome toothe extracted. I'd initially walked in for a tootheache and they insisted it was my wisdome toothe pushing up against my other teeth and suggested i get it extracted which im no expert so i let them do the extraction. 2 months later im having the same tootheache that braught me there in the first place. I had an appointment for a screening to become an active patient, which was cancelled due to Covid 19. Today, a month later - i now have a full fledged toothache so i decided to go back for an emergency appt. I arrived at 8:00am - at 9:30am the front desk lady told me they wont be taking me as im Not an ongoing patient and that patients are only allowed 1 emergency visit. She also said they can extract it if i wanted to- then referred me to another dentist who's closed until further notice also due to Covid 19. All i could do is shake my head and walk out. I spoke to the student who was going to take me on as a patient and was told that the same front desk lady told the Dr that i wanted my teethe extracted. Like WOW.! What a complete lie. Unsure of what the need to lie is about- obviously something is wrong with this picture for her to lie and defend herself. This is all a big mess and i have no clue what to do about my teethe as of now. While i waited 1.5 hr i'd only seen 2 patients come in for an appointment so unsure what the issue was with taking me. My first experience was great but if i'd only known that my wisdome toothe was NOT the issue, i wouldnt have this toothache now. Shame on that front desk lady.! She should be fired for being a pathological liar. My advice to anyone interested in going here is to make sure your not treated as a test dummy and know what toothe is bothering you so your other teethe are not pulled for no reason leaving the bad toothe stuck in your mouth to go figure out on your own and have some receptionist lie to the school staff to avoid getting herself in trouble. read more

I am 60 years old on Medicaid which has the worst Dental options on planet Earth. All they want to do is pull your teeth and if you're lucky give you Dentures once you have no teeth left. I found Nova Southeast University Dental Center and they are an absolute godsend. There was a 3 month waiting list and now I understand why. It's because this is the best deal in town in all of South Florida. These people are professional, they are kind an understanding. I have never felt so good about an organization. My mouth is a wreck na private dental facility would cost me thousands and the experience would suck. Awesome gym! Everything about it is great! The architecture is fantastic. It's almost never crowded and people are cool. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because the weights smell really bad because they are never sanitized. I've told the management to clean them but I guess they just don't care.. beautiful campus...very very very well maintained and always being updated! this school is already up and coming but is really pushing ahead into an entire new category of schools. they are going to build a bio/med research center with an attached hospital for teaching.(the hospital is getting pushback from other hospitals) but it will show up maybe slightly delayed . so between a research center and teaching hospital NOVA is going to be playing with the big boys really soon. read more

I am a NSU alumni. I graduate from their BSN program in 2011. I found it to be a fantastic program that really prepared you for the NCLEX, I passed right away without even studying. The undergraduate program was supportive and prepared me well to be a nurse. Unfortunately, Nova Southeastern's Master's Science Nursing as Family Nurse Practitioner wasn't even close. They where not supportive. The pretty much bait and switch you. They say the it is a hybrid program, with your first classes online, and then intensive class room classes for your major core. I did not find this to be true at all. They basically get you 3 semesters into their program, then trapped because you spent 15,000 yes 600$ a credit double what a state university would charge with half the support. While, I was in the program the they went through 4 Program Director, yes 4. The longest I saw a program director stay was for two semesters. They also had a hard time keeping teachers as well, during our advanced patho class, one of your harder classes, the teacher ended up leaving in the middle and the brand new first term program director took over the class. There was always a lot of confusion and you always wondered of you could even rely on the faculty being their, if they were even going to be around to support you. When it came to clinicals, they made it very stressful. Basically told us to find you clinicals completely on your own. Yes they did not help one bit. They said here is a list of providers that did clinicals once before, go talk to them. Over half those providers would end up yelling at you saying I did enough for Nova, I can't possibly keep taking on these obligations. Top that off with a lot of the hybrid classes they tell you there will be in class time, and they turned out to be solely online. Barely any review for tests, I remember in advance health assessment being given 15 chapters, 50 page chapters, and told anything in there was game to be on test, we can not give you a review. They said they would be a class every other week and they ended up canceling 5 of 9 classes. I understand we need to know the material , but I always received a lot more guidance in my academic career. I would never have gone this route if I could go back. I would have waited till a state university or school that actually supported their students would have been available. read more

Nightmare Admission process. First, even though it says they waive the entrance fee for veterans they don't or thats what they told me since they didn't seem to be bothered. I applied for the nursing program and was constantly harassed regarding my transcripts stating I never sent them. I did. Multiple times. And they just sat there for months and months. Constantly being called by admissions with no update just stating that they don't have them or they're checking the validity of them. I'm also yelled by James at the nursing office when I ask about this information. I'm then told they are looking at my application. I applied months before the deadline and I was told there is time. Semester I applied came and I was basically told "too bad". I requested to speak to a supervisor and was quickly called and apologized to. He then moved my application to Fall 2021. I applied for the winter/spring term. No regard for my own time and my timeline. And now I'm being called every week about an interview. Heck no i don't want to interview. I don't want to attend a school this unorganized and disrespectful to veterans. Be warned. And be ready to spend a lot of money that you will never receive back when they mess up. read more
