John found a Richard Scarry children's book in French and quickly called his sister to see if she wanted it for our niece. Next find was a Boy scout handbook from dad's childhood! I found some sweet bells, but when I spotted the giant jug under a table I held my breath as I turned it over and saw the name Dover- Seagrove! The tag was labeled as such- 1987 Seagrove pottery- score! I snapped pictures and took the jug home too- already sent photos to my friends in Seagrove, I know the family studio it was made in! How cool- to find it in Brunswick, Ga! Great prices too- John and I both bought from the same booth!!!

Antique and vintage finds include framed art & prints, furniture, oriental rugs, lamps, all sorts of housewares, limited vintage clothing, crystal, vintage Playboy magazines, books and so much more! Some items are priced high while others are more reasonable. As always when shopping stores like this ask if the dealer will give a discount. They do not carry basic housewares, which is what I was seeking on my visit to supplement my JI rental house's kitchen, but we took a little time to look around just the same. Store is tidy and arranged nicely. Owner is very friendly and sociable, ready to answer any questions and tell all she knows about the provenance of any piece. Items were eclectic and vintage. I grew up with true 100+yo antiques passed down over generations and was taught a lot about old things. I'm versed in 20thC vintage items from my own curiosity and collections over the years. The merch I saw at Rummage is fun and vintage (mostly 1990s to now on my visit). However, you never know what may end up here as a consignment shop, so it's always evolving. Prices were mostly on par with eBay if you include shipping. If there is a home decor item you need it is worth a look.

But my experience was great- we were greeted coming through the door & I was near the register (unknowing) and was asked if I was ready to check out- but I wasn't. The lady told me they were moving a big piece of furniture- just in case I had to wait to check out. No problem, I was just getting started! As I made my way to the back of the store- John got excited- a kitty came out to greet us. She obviously could spot cat lovers! She made sure to meow and demand pets and followed me around which made me absolutely have to buy something. I am a sucker. They carried my favorite soap line- Naked Bee Honey products, but didn't have any bar soap- boo, I tend to buy all in stock when I find it and it's always at small stores! Instead I found a hefty slab of geode crystal with agate- but it wasn't priced. I had a number in my head I would go up to and they sold it to me for less! Yippee~ sold! All in all- I would totally go back to shop here again.

Less furniture than in the past. But, the staff members I've encountered aren't helpful or friendly. The three times I've been in recently, the employee at the front cashier has ignored me completely....just kept reading book or looking at phone or chatting with another employee. Today, I asked where I might find towel hooks, and the employee said they didn't have any. I asked, "none?" because I thought that was unusual. She said "none". I looked around the store, saw maybe a half dozen of them, and left.
