This shoe store has been in Montreal's Little Italy forever and sells Italian shoes made in Italy…read more I remember back in the day, Montreal was littered with independent Italian family-run shoe stores where they privately imported Italian shoes and had their own suppliers back in Italy, usually located in little out-of-the-way strip malls. I used to see those types of shoe stores in areas where the Italian community are particularly strong, areas like Lasalle, Ville Emard, Pointe Aux Trembles and once upon a time, even in Pointe-Claire. I don't know what happened, but most of those shops are now gone and it's a shame because those shoes lasted me forever and I always got compliments on them because they were singular in their styles and they were reasonably priced. I think Cortina is probably one of the few left now. The service I received here over the years has always been friendly and the shoes are great. Prices here are not cheap but for the quality you get, they are fair. I usually buy boots here.

So I gave up the search and accepted that I would never have the bag of my dreams.....until one day when my boyfriend brought me to Mile End Kicks. I live nearby yet never thought about checking it out because it completely slipped my mind that it existed. But there it was. MY BAG *heart*. My boyfriend surprised me with it and I've had it ever since. Now I make sure to visit every few months to see if they've gotten anything new recently that could be cool. I don't buy very many shoes so I usually skip that section of the store.

I decided to try on something different, but was having an issue where the 9's were fitting weird in the heel whereas the 9.5's felt snug, and I was trying to figure out why. After explaining this to both the lady who was helping me and a man who appeared to be a manager(?), the man leans over to the lady and whispers "he's crazy", and then goes on to say in a lower voice that "he'll probably try all these on and just buy the initial pair" (the shoes I came back to buy). First I'll just say that it was pretty clear that there was a fit issue, as it was easily demonstrable by me trying the two shoes on and lifting my heel. I really wish he had of looked at the issue and tried to figure it out, instead of just explaining what a heel counter was and how Onitsuka's don't have them (it was two sizes of the same shoe so this is irrelevant). The lady, by contrast, provided constructive comments like 'try to really tighten the lower laces to push your foot back'. I've worked this job, and I know how customers can be a pain. And if you're not gonna be helpful, the least you can do is not make such comments within earshot of the customer. Or, maybe in French, as at least I wouldn't understand it. It was a huge turn off and I likely won't be going back, which is unfortunate because this place has an awesome show selection and the people are generally super helpful.

The service is great, the servers are attentive and willing to guide you with your choices so that you have a good time. Food is great. Today my fish and chips was great with the fish cook to perfection. The fries, were cooked at the right temperature. They didn't taste oily and had just the right crispyness. Terrible company, terrible customer service here's a good…read morestory for everyone to see they sold two items to my wife, they realized they made a mistake and sold one item way cheaper than what it was, upon arriving home with items the store called my wife asking if she can go back to the store and make the adjustment (literally begging my wife) since they made the mistake. my wife made the trip back (which legally she didn't even have to since it was their mistake) made the right honest and honorable action so that the employee wouldn't get into trouble. they readjusted the price having said all that, my wife decided not to keep the items, the items were unworn and never used. on their website they clearly say every item is eligible for return within 10 days. They refused to honor their own rules and refused the return Their employee Robina even accused my wife of lying, was rude, condescending and did not even care for her concern. Absolutely terrible customer service, this store is a scam and they are running a scam shop. their site clearly says every item is eligible for return/exchange within 10 days however they refused to return my unworn item. Avoid this store at all cost. they are scamming people. Watch out, they have no regards for their customers. Save your money and shop from any brand other than these guys Do yourself a favor and avoid purchasing anything from this horrible store
