I'm new to the area and decided to check this place out. Locals know legal parking is nearly impossible most of the time but this is the only real cigar shop in the area. Not only do they sell tobacco but they have classy ashtrays that look like they're out of a time capsule and for some reason they have really cool hiking sticks for $11.99. The only cigar shop that I could find in Corning. They had a decent selction of tobacco for pipes, packaged and unpackaged. As for the cigars there was not that many and what they did carry were over priced to me. The reason for the 3 stars is the staff was friendly and offered help if needed and also the location. The location is great because you can buy your cigar(s) if you chose so and walk across the street to the town square and sit and enjoy your cigar. There are tables and chairs set up and the local radio staion playing nice classical music the whole time. There is also a nice old (1888) clock tower in the square. A lot of food in the area as well. Just a great loction. As for the friendly service, I was greeted as I walked into the door and asked if I needed any help. I knew what I was looking for, however a young lady came looking for cigars for her father. Only knowing he liked Jamican cigars, which tehy did not have she just asked the staff what they would recommend. Of course they pulled out all the high priced cigars for her and that is what she bought. I recommended some of the cigars I like that were not as high priced but are still really good cigars and the staff said no thay are not good ciagrs. I have been smoking cigars for a long while now and i know what good cigars are. Yes what he recommended are goood cigars but they were way over priced. This is really Corning's only full service cigar and pipe smoking supply store. They have a fair selection of popular cigars, and a nice mix of pipe tobacco--both blend and packaged. They also sell lottery tickets--an "ignorance tax" on the mathematically impaired. This place reflects an old time ambience, and several times a month hosts a "cigar event" that all smokers are welcome. Door prize drawings, discounted cigars, and BYOB to sip on whilst hobnobbing. The crowd is a nice mix of all ages, sexes, and social status. The selection of accessories could use a little bit of enhancement, but the folks that run and own this place are friendly and interested in their customers. If they don't have what you are looking for, ask and they may order it for you. read more

The family that owns this place is great. Such nice people. And for some reason, they consistently have winning scratch off lottery tickets. I always win when I buy them here. Other people I know have said the same thing. So this place is lucky as well! read more
