Great little park with paved and dirt trails along the river. There is a pond you can walk up to that is very pleasant. A decent parking lot to park your car and then explore. There are a bunch of benches placed around the park to have a seat and relax. Very nice ferns and trees on the path, my dog loved it on our Thanksgiving walk with family. read more

Pepperoni. That is the secret to good crawdading. And this park is our favorite spot. We used to live in the neighborhood until our recent move, so we could just walk down the hill, put a little pepperoni on a hook and reel them in (see photo). My husband was actually very ambitious and constructed a crawdad trap, but I think the hook works just as well. My youngest boy is obsessed with fishing so this provided hours of entertainment and a nice outing for father and son. This is a very natural park that was created in a flood plane. No playgrounds here. Just a park with wetlands and a prairie with natural grass for walking your dog, jogging, fishing or launching your canoe or kayak from the pier. Great birdwatching as well. The city was able to buy up a lot of riverfront property (due to said flood plane) so over the past five years the park has continued to expand. It was a very smart move since the Tualatin River flooded the banks at least four times in the ten years I lived in the neighborhood and water would extend all the way to (or across) Nyberg Lane. This park is also the site of a wonderful arts camp for kids, Willowbrook, in the summer months and Alder Creek operates a canoe and kayak rental from Memorial Day through Labor Day. A great park that runs the length of Nyberg Lane and reaches from the boardwalk behind Stonesthrow Apartments all the way down the street past the Brown's Ferry Community Center to the trail's end over a mile away. Originally the site of a ferry service across the Tualatin River for the pioneers in the late 1800's, this park now offers kayak rentals and a seasonal summer camp. Running parallel to the river, Brown's Ferry Park has a variety of walking trails, an open field nature reserve, and a small pond. The information signs tell the story of the area, from the type of native species you can encounter to the tale of the native Atfalati people that once lived here. Take some time for a relaxing walk through the park, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. read more

Great kayak launch spot and if you don't have one yet it's a great place to rent one and give it a try. The park was huge and the water was so slow and gentle it made for easy paddling a great place for beginners to get the hang of it my daughter had a blast keep an eye out for river otter, heron and other wildlife we went early in the morning and just a few other were out so we pretty much had the river to ourselves. Beautiful and peaceful scenery will be added to my favorites list. read more

Small but pleasant park.... Let's go Kayaking!!! Yep, this dock's for you. We can bring our own boats or rent a kayak or canoe at the boat house for an okay price. Just put on your PFD and push in. Paddle under the I5 up the Tualatin river to Cooks Park. Or head east toward the Willamette River. It is a nice and quite paddle in a calm part of the river. read more

Parking was easy, the park is okay nothing remarkable. We used it for the river access to do some SUPB. People had NO regard to socially distance. NONE so if you're particular try to go during work hours (which we did,) and mask up. (Which we did.) My daughter had to use the restroom. Which is why I had to knock this from a 4 to a 3 star. NASTY y'all. I mean its COVID. Y'all need to keep public PARKS and restrooms AT said parks CLEANED UP. Not okay. Next time I am just going to let my kids pee in our potty IN the car. THAT is clean and a bit tougher but at least it wasn't nasty. read more

Brown's Ferry Park is a bit more "natural" than most parks. Although there are paved walking paths running all throughout, it's essentially a scaled down wildlife preserve. It's definitely not manicured. The goal is to protect and preserve the native plants and animals. There's a duck pond (with holes low enough for little ones to peek out) and docks where you can sit and watch the Tualatin River roll by. It's a pleasant surprise at the base of a large neighborhood. It's a great place to go for a run or walk. There are numerous benches and picnic tables, where you can sit and enjoy the day. Near the duck pond, there's a sculpture of a momma duck and her babies. The sculpture is dedicated to a ten year old girl who passed away. A plaque beneath it reminds us to appreciate every day. Never fails to put things in perspective. read more

It's not the most secluded spot, but is obviously much used by local dog walkers and runners. The noise from the freeway (I-5) detracts from the peace of the place as do the many large parking lots and housing developments within view. Still, it has some charm and is a better place to eat a sandwich than the mini mall parking lot. I saw some kayakers on the dock, and lots of folks strolling and chatting mid-afternoon. My husband and I enjoy kayaking the Tualatin river. Once you are embraced by the natural surroundings, it's like paradise! The water is mellow, so if you are a beginner or paddling with kids, this is the right place for you. There's a canoe and kayak rental place right in the park and just a step away from the boat dock. This park is well-maintained. As you walk in the park, the interpretive signs provide information about cultural history, the river and the nature in this area. This is a gorgeous park with very nice trails and a pine colored bridge/walkway. There's also a small deck that would be great for pictures. The duck pond is always a favorite of my daughter's. We haven't gone on all the trails, as some of them are gravel and don't work well with a stroller. I love the views of the forest and Tualatin River. read more

This is a wonderful place to breathe fresh air and get lost in nature for 30 or 60 minutes. Today was an absolutely beautiful day and a brisk walk outdoors with our dog has become a staple activity after Sunday breakfast. Spending time at this cute, serene park was a real treat. Nestled along the Tualatin River there's the option to enjoy either paved or dirt trails, with dirt trails running through the woods and giving a closer view of wildlife along the river. The pine trees lining the river are incredibly tall! Today we saw herons and ducks and other families enjoying canoeing on the quiet river. What an awesome way to take a break in the day and connect with nature. This is a great little park--good for a few miles of jogging, easy hiking, kayaking or canoeing. read more

Great place to rent a kayak, canoe, or sup. Plenty of parking and restrooms. Nice trails along the river to birdwatch, jog, or bike.

DO NOT RENT KAYAKS HERE. The park itself is nice, but if you plan on renting kayaks, do not do it here. Better to bring your own or go to Cook Park. The employees here did not speak to us, did not answer questions, and gave us a kayak with a broken seat. When we asked if compensation could be provided, they said "I don't know". When we asked again, they said "Nope". Very unfriendly and unhelpful staff. read more

I live near here and have made the trails a regular part of my running route. I have also kayaked from here on the Tualatin River. The river is peaceful and you can see quite a few birds and other animals along the way. There is a lot of natural beauty in this park. read more
