This was my number 1 worst experience I have ever had at a restauran. Our waitress (Hope) was so unexperienced(?) or just really awful....She was clumsy, slow, couldn't hear us, couldn't get our bills correct. SHE SPILT AN ENTIRE PINT OF BEER DOWN MY BACK & barely even apologized for it!!! . I asked if they had blow dryers in the bathroom she said they did, lol they didn't? A lady with brown hair & glasses (maybe the manager?) asked how I liked my golden shower????? And then proceeded to say, "well at least you have your margarita!" We did not receive one drink compensated from our bill?? On top of ALL of that, I watched that same waitress spill another beer on the other side of our table & again, no apology or acknowledgment?! She was slow to take orders, slow to clear the table...Management was no better. But as we know : Shit rolls down hill. I've been to many Brown's & really liked it... Our daughter has Type 1 diabeties and chose Browns Social House to be her birthday dinner. They sat us right away and the burgers were great! What shocked us was the manager speaking to my daughter on the side asking her for the future to call ahead as other patrons may have allergies. I was enraged with this as the law states Registered Guide Dogs must be allowed to be with their person. Period. After a discussion with the owner it was stated that the Sherwood Park location had an altercation between a family and a person with a Guide Dog because their child had an allergy. While I sympathize with the child and the dilemma of the restaurant it is the law that should have won. The family with the allergy should have been given the Guide Dog ACT and moved to another seat. Not become an unwritten policy to pass on to other Guide Dog owners to call first so that they may check if anyone had an allergy first. The owner Tim retracted the managers request and said he was trying to protect my daughter from embarrassment. Not satisfied with this I phone head office and spoke to the District Manager who said it was not a policy of Browns. I challenged him to make sure that it would not be tolerated by any Browns location to even suggest an unofficial policy by being so offensive as to suggest a life saving Guide Dog be asked to call ahead based on an allergy. Our daughter has travelled on a plane and visited many locations with her gorgeous dog while attending college in Red Deer and not ONCE have we run into this issue. While I have received an apology not once has an invitation been offered to my daughter and Guide Dog to come back. I think they missed the point. She picked them for her birthday dinner out of many locations and she was made to feel embarrassed for what is our right as individuals to have their Guide Dog attend and protect them. read more

Pricing of menu is a little above average, may a little higher than the Brewhouse. They had packaged everything so nicely so nothing spilt and it still looked amazing upon arriving at my house. I was in Camrose visiting family and we decided to go out for dinner. Made reservations and arrived for 5:30. Parking was good and close to the door. The restaurant has two sections - the covered Patio and the main restaurant and bar. The Patio is actually a good design and has good heaters properly installed for 3 season use in Alberta. The main restaurant has a mixture of booths and tables that are modern and up to date. The booths are a good size so you don't feel like you are crammed in. They also have well placed TV's to provide folks who are ADD with their phones something to look at when they are suppose to actually have a conversation at the dinner table and look at people. Within 15 seconds of sitting down, Steve the waiter introduced himself ask him what we would like to get settled and started. We just wanted water. He came back with full glasses, a full 1 litre glass bottle and lots of lemons. That was a good sign since it shows the restaurant pay attention to the details and want to create an experience and positive memory. Our group had the Cod Bowl, the fish tacos and the Cowboy Salad. The food was available quickly (seemed like less than 5 minutes) and the quality was on par with some higher end restaurants in Toronto. It was fresh and well plated. The portions were filling and the right size (I'm over 6 feet and big and the one portion filled me up) The desert (their chocolate Brownie) was shareable size and enjoyed by all. I would have to say that this is a good restaurant in Camrose that has the 'big city quality', this is the place to go. It is family friendly and the staff have a team approach. Steve, you did a good job. The only issue is that the noise levels get a bit loud and some sound cancelling techniques would help. Great restaurant love going here with my husband or mom and sister it's a great sit down and enjoy yourself place. No rush. Food is great, atmosphere perfect. At the end of service though it's sometimes hard to find your server which is disappointing when your ready to go you don't want to wait around forever. read more
