I brought my in-laws to this combo restaurant/farm/vegetable shop/nursery for a little outing. We had fun. It was a beautiful day so we enjoyed a view of the farm from the back porch. It was counter service and we all got various sandwiches which were huge. We enjoyed the food and the experience and walked around after to the shop and nursery. A fun time was had by all and we were left with a satisfying feeling that it was a great day out. Worth the mini jaunt. read more

This family owned, popular ladies-who-lunch spot has reopened after closure during covid-19 restrictions. I appreciate that they now offer reservations to eat outdoors on their spacious porch, currently a safer alternative to eating indoors. The views of surrounding farm, country gardens and park area are especially welcome after isolation. Their roasted red pepper soup is still the star dish they became known for and the homemade bread used for sandwiches is good. The welcome variety of homemade pies are very good including the pecan pie I I and my friend had. The attached produce store has expanded to include their homemade bread, pickles and roasted chipotles. As always a visit to the large greenhouse was a must to view the great variety of flowers, baskets and garden statues. read more

Simply outstanding. You really can't get much more farm to plate, than eating at a cafe located and sourced from the farm itself. Fantastic soups, salads, and simple if tasty sandwiches are the name of the game here. The vegetables are fresh, vibrant and flavourful, something sadly missing from your common variety supermarket veggies. Honestly, I can't even begin to describe the simple difference between a cherry tomato from a supermarket and one from farms such as these. It's for places like this which is why I chose to champion Alberta agriculture in my daily life, especially REAL food, beyond the giant factory farms. It's a difference to be appreciated. read more

Small quaint cafe outside of Lethbridge attached to a vegetable farm/greenhouse. Very cozy and simple atmosphere. The cafe is open for lunch/dessert. With the availability of the freshest ingredients only steps away, they offer a nice array of sandwiches, salads, a few others and fresh pies. I had a "Broxburn BLT" with their house salad and house made ranch dressing. BLT- What a great twist! Oven roasted tomatoes and pepper with fresh greens and the twist... pickled asparagus and sauerkraut! Seriously the best BLT I have ever had! The salad was nice and fresh, but the accent was the house made ranch. Unreal! I didn't bother asking for the recipe... no one in their right mind would give it. Recommend enthusiastically for a nice lunch, business meeting or any other reason! read more

We ate here prior to the annual tractor pull and the food was so fresh and delicious. My mother in law and I had the turkey cottage pie, so rich and delicious I was practically licking the little crock it was baked in when it was gone. The roasted red pepper soup seems to be a specialty and I was stealing it from my husband's dish all through the meal. The menu is seasonal and incorporates the fresh vegetables and fruits grown on the farm that surrounds the quaint cafe and vegetable store next door. We found this gem via Yelp (though the location on our maps was about 500m off). The cafe and vegetable store is right next to Country Blooms if you see that sign. My husband and I both had smoked tomato soup, he with a baked eggplant sandwich, and my son had a grilled cheese. (There were many meat options.) Everything was delicious, the view of the gardens from outside was memorable (including a garden of flowers forming the Canadian flag), and the service was friendly and attentive. There was also a huge slide, which my son really enjoyed. Try the Saskatoon pie (like a cross between blueberries and cherries) for dessert! This is definitely worth going off the highway for a few Kms. read more

The $14.00 avocado, lettuce and tomato sandwich was described on the menu as having "homemade avocado spread". When it came it had four tiny slices of hard, yet brown-spotted avocado and one slice of tomato. The cup of soup was good, but this is too much money for basically a lettuce and tomato sandwich. The saskatoon pie was very bland. It needed more sugar, a squirt of lemon juice and a good pinch of salt. The crust was sub-standard - tasteless, crumbly and vaguely greasy. For a place that touts farm to table natural food, they should provide butter with their rolls, not Becel margarine as the only choice. read more
