There are two other barbers, Paul and Martino, who do excellent work as well. The shop only takes appointments which is good because you have your designated time for what you want done. Since my last barber retired who I had been going to for over fifteen years I have been at a loss to find a comfortable place to go. I went yesterday to Bruno's and might have finally found my replacement. Although I'm not overly concerned with COVID, I was very impressed by their precautions which was evident my entire time there. I had Paul cut my hair and he did exactly as I requested. Bruno's is such a charming barbershop. I went early on a Friday morning and was surprised to see it so busy. After my experience here, I'm not so surprised - I can see why so many people would want to come here! I came on the morning of my wedding day with two of my groomsmen (please note that I didn't tell anyone about this prior to sitting in the chair for my haircut). From the moment we walked in, the entire staff was very welcoming. Despite there being several people there already, the wait time was fairly short. I was in the chair 15-20 minutes after we arrived. My cut and beard trim turned out beautifully, and I had an amazing conversation with the owner of the shop. It's always so nice to see a family-owned business being successful. You can tell how much love has been poured into the business. I have no complaints whatsoever. I don't live in the area, but we have family there. Any time I'm in the area and in need of a haircut, I will always come to Bruno's! read more

Bruno's is the best! My husband has gone there for years and gotten awesome haircuts. The people are kind and friendly. My husband and I especially appreciate their covid safety rules including pleasantly requesting masks and having a limited number of people in the shop - we have an unvaccinated small child at home so we don't go anywhere that doesn't have trustworthy and practical covid safety. With some misinformed and uncaring people throwing temper tantrums etc when asked to wear a masks, many businesses fail to do the right thing. I went in to Bruno's yesterday afternoon. I waited a short time and was then invited to sit with Paul. First off let me say that I am very picky when it comes to my hair and beard grooming. Paul paid incredible attention to detail, was very courteous and funny and respectful. I have been to Bruno's twice with my son, who was 1 1/2 the first time, and 2 this last time. The first time, the stylist was friendly, and the cut was decent. I was surprised it was over $20 for the cut (long over the ears), so I checked out a few other salons before deciding to go back today. My son's hair is in what I might call a long bowl cut, and I told the stylist to cut it as it was, but shorter. I talked about how I wanted to have the front fall, and mentioned "over the ears" meaning to leave length there. The stylist didn't ask any questions, and started to shave him with clippers This was NOT what I asked for, so I stopped and tried to explain again, but she just kept going. I mentioned more than a few times that this was not the cut I wanted for my son, and to leave as much length as possible, as we were going to immediately grow it out. But, she kept going. In the end, it was shorter on the sides, in the back, and at the front than we wanted. My son looked like another person, and I felt like crying. Then, she put all this crazy super-perfumed talc all over his neck to help with itching, without asking me! What if he had allergies or something? We should have been asked. I had never seen that crazy powder thing before, or I would have been watching for it. And, the worst part was that when I got home, I noticed a long scape on the back of my son's neck, which she had made with either the clippers or the scissors. I ALWAYS tip, but just couldn't make myself this time. I was too disappointed at being ignored and having my son's hair butchered. read more

Italo D does an excellent job and I wish the other barbers could learn from him how to give a haircut. Unfortunately you will get what they want you to have, not what you want. The atmosphere is very nice but if you have a lot of folks there, you have to keep track as to who is next. I would have given a 5* is Italo D was the only barbara and a 1 for the other 4. I've been going to Bruno's for nearly 20 years and have always gotten an excellent haircut. Bruno's isn't a run-of-the-mill barber shop. It has a very tasteful, comfortable atmosphere and it is family-owned and operated, so you immediately feel at ease when you enter. When I lived in Boston, I was one of the suckers who paid $65 (and this was twenty years ago) at a fancy salon on Newbury Street. Angela gives a higher quality haircut here for a much more reasonable price. I appreciate that you don't need to make an appointment, because that can be a hassle. I think all the stylists here are great, but I've stuck with Angela for years and they don't mind at all if you wait for the person you want. They have wireless if you need it. Or you might choose to just chill out and read some magazines and have some downtime. If you live in the area, you can drive by to see if it's crowded or not and duck in when it's convenient for you.
