I paid $140 for two seats that were clearly shown as a two-seat row. When my wife and I boarded, we discovered the row actually had three seats. No one pays extra for a middle seat -- ever. My seat number was K6, and the seat had barely any cushion whatsoever. I had to stack pillows and blankets to prevent back pain during the flight. Most incompetent company I've had to deal with. Called someone in Brussels to get information about the plane and flight, and I was given another number to call, which I believe was in Antwerp. I called that number, and another representative informed me they did not handle those inquiries and provided yet another number. After calling that number, I was redirected back to the original Brussels contact. I called Brussels again, and another representative finally provided the information I had requested from the beginning. Not done yet. I finally checked in and boarded the aircraft. The plane itself was attractive, and for the most part, the flight attendants were hardworking and professional. Unfortunately, several passengers were loud, arrogant, and inconsiderate, while the lavatories became untidy after only a few hours in flight. Wet floors, clogged sinks, and declining cleanliness standards significantly affected the onboard experience. Although the cabin crew deserved recognition for their professionalism and efforts, the inconsistent customer service, uncomfortable seating, and declining cabin cleanliness overshadowed many of the positives. Based on this experience, I would seriously compare alternatives before booking Brussels Airlines again for a similar journey. read more

After our direct flight was cancelled, we were rebooked for a transit flight via Brussels Airlines, so it was not our first choice, more like a necessity. Overall, not a pleasant experience, we'd not consider it for any future travel options. Some of their flight attendants definitely need some time off, a vacation, or anger management therapy, and may need additional customer service training. We were not expecting screaming, yelling, or chasing after their passengers. A polite explanation or direction would be helpful. read more

Brussels Airlines is not just incompetent--it's ethically bankrupt. They denied boarding to two of my Ugandan friends on a U.S.-bound flight, despite them having valid documents and arriving five hours early. The reason? A Brussels Airlines agent falsely claimed they needed a European transit visa--a requirement that did not apply. No apology. No correction. No accountability. Just humiliation and dismissal. This disgraceful decision cost us over $1,100 to fix--because Brussels Airlines doesn't train its staff to understand the very rules they enforce. Or worse: they enforce different rules depending on the color of your passport--or your skin. While they pat themselves on the back with PR stunts and glossy posts about "connectivity" and "sustainability," their ground staff treats African travelers like garbage. There is nothing sustainable about exploiting a continent while disrespecting its people. Do not trust this airline with your money, your time, or your dignity. Brussels Airlines isn't just broken--it's toxic. And until they overhaul their customer service culture from the inside out, they have no business flying anyone, anywhere. Brussels Airlines is the worst airline I have ever flown. Unfortunately, they are the airline I must take on most of my mission trips to Africa. They will not let you pick a seat without an upcharge and then they still do not give you the seat you chose and paid for! I have repeatedly paid to choose a seat which is usually the last very long leg of my trip ( 10 to 12 hours) after already travelling for 12 to 14 hours and I would like a seat I choose and pay for where I can get some rest! They never give me my seat choice when I arrive and check in at the airport and have not refunded my money I paid to choose my seat! I would never fly Brussels if I had any other choice! read more

Took Brussels Airlines from Washington DC to Europe. Was traveling First Class. However, the only thing that worked in First Class was a weak overhead light. No electronics worked. Not even the seat reclining function. The crew tried everything they could but nothing would restore functionality to the First Class cabin. Eventually, the flight attendants manually shoved the seats into an almost reclining position. The whole flight was horrible. Light too weak to read, no power for the computer to plug into, and an entire host of problems. Brussels Airlines compensation for paying First Class prices? An offer of 100 Euros. The accommodations were not even coach class but we paid big bucks for a faulty aircraft. But, here is the real issue: If Brussels Airlines has basic problems as I have described, what do you think of the maintenance of the entire aircraft? Beware! In my opinion, Brussels Airlines is going to have a major accident and will likely kill many people because of their sloppy maintenance of their aircraft. Find another option unless you want to have a miserable flight or perhaps be involved in a fatal accident. There are better, and in my opinion, safer airlines out there. Use them. read more
I flew with Brussels Airlines for a connecting flight from Brussels to Entebbe and had a fabulous experience. The best way to describe this airline is hospitable - they offer everything you can think of (and with excellence) to make a 10+ hour flight as comfortable as possible. Upon entering the plane, patrons are presented with the opportunity to select from a stack of various different newspapers. When you enter the plane, you'll find the cabin to be spacious (even for economy seating) and equipped with pillows, headphones, and earplugs (for those that request them). The entertainment systems are packed with more than enough movies, television shows, and music to keep you entertained for the duration of the flight. They also offer excellent inflight service - 2 meals and a snack throughout the flight, as well as a drink cart that frequents the aisle-ways. And my favorite part - friendly stewardess' that speak multiple languages, and relate to each person on board with genuine kindness and patience. read more

i've used SN Brussels 4 times now and have just 1 remark/suggestion. Please, please take away those very, very bad head-supports. They push your head forward in stead of giving you some decent support to enjoy your flight. For the rest, you have enough room for your legs, the meals are nice and most of the staff on board is very friendly. read more
I flew with Brussels Airlines recently on a short flight between Brussels and Bilbao and it left me feeling underwhelmed. There is decent legroom and the employees are friendly enough. That is where the positives end though. The seats are fairly uncomfortable and nothing is free once you're on board. Now I am used to flying domestic flights in North America where you have to buy your food but you at least get complimentary drinks. Here you have to pay for the beverages as well which is totally ridiculous. Lucky for me I had a nice flight attendant who actually gave me water for free since that was all I wanted. read more

In light of the recent tragic events at Brussels Airport, I am completely understanding of the difficulties they must be facing in responding to people, and trying to make adjustments accordingly. That said, however, my experience with this airline has demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge among their agents (and I can say this having spoken to at least 5 now) as well as an unwillingness towards transparency. My flight from Stockholm to Milan was supposed to connect in Brussels, but after the attack, the flights were rescheduled to depart at the same time from different airports, making it impossible to actually get where I was going. Every time I called the listed number and actually got through (only half the time) I was told I would get a call back, but never did. Going through Twitter, my partner initially received some response and even an offer to rebook us, which was all we wanted, yet there was never any confirmation given, and all communication ended, although they continued to respond to other Twitter requests. I'm not certain why the agents are not simply straightforward about what they can or cannot offer, but I have never had such an absolutely terrible customer service experience, and will not be booking with Brussels Airlines again. read more

My daughter recently flew with Brussels Airlines. Arrived in Manchester. Her case was lodged sideways on the luggage belt just behind the flap, throwing many cases onto the floor when they hit it. She said many people were scrambling trying to find someone to turn off the belt. It would have obviously been on camera!!! As it's a four-wheeled case, it still wheeled, so she had no idea, until she got out of the area, that the wheel was off. She couldn't get back in. She asked. As well, she had a train to catch, so she didn't have hours and hours to spend trying to argue her way back in....plus she'd been awake for in excess of 24 hours, at that point. She sent Brussels Airlines the photos and claim the same day, as soon as she got in, with all information, including ticket info, flight details, date, time, belt number. Their baggage handlers caused this, as they obviously know. Their response, after nearly a month and a half, was 'prima facie proof'....so, basically, sorry, not sorry...we wash our hands of you, but we hope you'll still fly with us. Seriously?! What an absolute disgrace, and complete lack of customer care. Why would anyone go to this trouble to replace a rather inexpensive case (although it was only 2 days old)?! I can do Latin too, Brussels Airlines, so how about this quote, 'caveat emptor', buyer beware. read more

Like a fourth world country on a top of the line plane. I will never ever fly Royal Jordanian again!!!! Would rather pay twice as much and get to Amman in 3 days then fly this airline.
