And I was just asking her questions. When you're trying to wrap your head around an illness that your baby has, why would your professional response be like that? It was her tenacity in figuring out what the issues were for many of moms medical issues that ultimately led to mom having a much better quality of life for the last 4 years. I'm crazy about her (not medically speaking). To date, she's been my primary physician for a little over two years. I love that she spends plenty of time. I don't so much like that I usually have to wait longer than my appointment time, but I factor that in when I have an appointment that's later in the day. If my appointment is first thing in the morning, there's no issue. For urgent appointments, I've sometimes gotten in with her, other times I've been given a visit with another physician from the same office, or Linda, her nurse practitioner (all are terrific). I love how she listens. She's excellent at giving advice, including on mental health issues. She doesn't try to be a therapist, but she's good about making sure my panic condition is under control, even when I'm there for regular old physical wear and tear issues. She calls me if I've seen one of her associates and there's some question about my health to be clarified, and she's great about getting test results either mailed or communicated to me via phone. I really love that she's a one-stop shop. She did a nice, thorough history/physical the first time I came in, and she does the annual well-woman exams. In summary, great care of my body and brain, and a downright sweetheart. Her staff members are also quite nice. Her practice partners are excellent.

I can honestly say I have NEVER in all my years been treated that way in my entire life. She was down right confrontational and rude. If I hadn't had such positive experiences with the other physicians in her practice I'd find a new doctor ASAP. Yes, I will let my primary physician know next time I see her. The ICU staff on the 2nd floor were exceptional--kind, professional, and attentive. They consistently checked on us and treated both patients and family with care and respect during a very difficult time. However, after a few days, we were moved to the 3rd floor, and the experience changed significantly. During overnight hours--around 2 AM--the environment has been surprisingly loud. I heard staff using profanity, watching videos or news on their phones at high volume, and openly complaining about long shifts. I understand healthcare is demanding, but this is a hospital setting, and patients (and their families) can hear everything. My relative is here receiving end-of-life care, so I stay overnight. At one point, a nurse questioned my presence rather abruptly before knowing the situation. To her credit, she apologized once she understood, but in moments like these, a little more compassion upfront goes a long way. One of the nurse was rude and jist keep using profanity and stated this is who she is. Wow, Loyola use to have professional nursing staff, what happened? I also noticed interactions where staff spoke to patients in a very casual, sometimes inappropriate tone. Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned, but professionalism matters--especially in a place where people are vulnerable, grieving, and trying to find peace. My takeaway: There is clearly a strong, compassionate team here--as seen in the ICU--but consistency matters. Professionalism, awareness, and respect should be maintained across all floors, especially during overnight hours. Hospitals should feel calm and supportive, not loud or chaotic. Patients and families deserve that--especially during life's most difficult moments. I will give a 4 star due to our first encounter here and the kindness nurses such as Nicole and Quand and Jordan. Very kind d and attentive. And I just heard 2 nurses use profanity to another nurse. I am sincerely flabbergasted that they speak like this so openly and there are patients present in their rooms. The level of unprofessionalism is amazing, and i am really saddened by this as this hospital was once top hospital. Being part of the joint commission will definitely reflect not only my review, but how I move forward. This is really upsetting me.

They could have told us that on the phone and saved us a 6 mile trip but it's loyola and they don't do anything to make your visit pleasant. They would not even let her sit in the lobby. We had to turn around and leave. I don't know why this hospital is so terrible, not family friendly, it's a shame. Terrible hospital. I need my ppo insurance again so I can attend Northwestern where they treat you like a valuable human.

She takes time with you, ask questions, listens, & makes a plan for your well-being. She keeps up with your medical chart through routine blood work & tests. She is thorough and makes sure she has checked every avenue to find what is best for your personal health. I always feel better when I leave just knowing I have a doctor looking out for me.

My Head and Neck cancer was diagnosed by a doctor who did not follow up and it grew to a large…read moretumor 7 months later! I was referred to Loyola University Head and Neck Dr Borrowdale and he saved my life. He did the full tumor removal within two weeks of my first visit. Nine hour surgery to take out the tumor and do a face and neck flap to remove it and cancerous lymph nodes! 2 years later I am Cancer free but do have Lyohodema due to the lymph glands having to be removed! Loyola has the best Head and Neck Team. I had Radiation and chemo to kill any remaining cancer cells but today I am alive and can swallow, chew and eat! I had a feeding tube during my treatment but never used it. Don't wait for weeks to get treatment, Loyola takes care of cancer treatment quick and gives you the full team approach with everyone working together to help you. Great nursing staff and very responsive PAs that follow up with my doctors on any request I have had over two years!

Currently I am trying so hard (for three days now) to get an appointment for an IRON infusion. My order is in the sytstem, everything is up to date. I cannot get an appoint for iron. I call, they transfer me. I call again they tell me the "System is down". I keep hearing on the phone about how "they are changing to a new system and this is causing delays". Change to a new sytem has been going on for at the very least 7 months. How much more of this? Why does it take 3 days of calling to try to get an appointment? I still do not have an appointment. Sometimes I think Loyola just wants you to die. Are they understaffed? Why is the CALL center so inefficient? It is a sin. This hospital gets it right 2/10 times. That is a sin.
