Wow. I am so happy I hired Bryan N. Miller Photography for my wedding! Bryan's motto is "capturing moments between moments" and that is exactly what he does. To top it all off, Bryan is the most reasonably-priced, quality photographer in the San Diego area. Several of my guests commented on how Bryan seemed to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time, meaning he captured all the important parts of the day while not being highly visible to our guests. That is true talent. My husband and I interviewed no less than 10 wedding photographers, which trust me, is a lot. We were looking for a good mix of photojournalism and portrait photos. We were looking for someone we could get along with. We were looking for someone who wasn't going to nickel-and-dime us. We found all those things and more with Bryan N. Miller Photography! When we met Bryan, the first thing we noticed is that he's really tall - we're talking 6'6" here. I thought, "He must get some great angles from up there." He does. We also really liked the fact that Bryan went to business school before starting his company, so he has a solid understanding of business in addition to photography. We also really got along with Bryan and enjoyed it very much when he shared his own engagement photos with us! Now, Bryan is a busy guy, so book early (especially, if you plan to do your engagement photos on a weekend). We shot our engagement photos on a Sunday, very last minute, in Ocean Beach. Bryan was a little late in meeting us because he was scouting out locations, but in the end, we got around 90 minutes with him. After guiding us through our photo shoot, Bryan quickly got us some digital proofs so we could print them out for my husband's grandmother to see before she passed away. We are forever grateful to Bryan for that. Plus, the photos were very nice, and he was able to capture sunset very well. As for the day of our wedding, Bryan was right on time. He brought a second shooter with a different "eye" but a similar style of artistry. They got every important moment, from pre-ceremony getting ready through the reception. Not only that, but within days of our wedding, Bryan sent us digital copies of about 7 photos he had already edited for us! As if that wasn't cool enough, today is our 1 month anniversay, and Bryan just notified us that our photos are already online. They look amazing! If you are considering Bryan N. Miller Photography for your wedding, you should definitely hire him! *I probably should have asked for more direction in my photographs. I'm not very comfortable having my picture taken, and it's tough for me to "act natural" when I know someone is taking my picture. If I could do it over again, it would be to ask to see some of the pictures as they were being taken (so I could make sure I wasn't making a weird face or standing at an unflattering angle). Words of advice to future couples, try to use your engagement shoot as a time to get comfortable with Bryan; talk to him throughout the process and find flattering angles and expressions so you know how to pose on the big day. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Bryan. Picking a photographer was one of the hardest parts of wedding planning for me. I have such a problem with people who are stiff and pushy and I didn't want someone directing us around and making the whole thing into a circus. I stumbled upon Bryan and immediately fell in love with his work. You could tell that there was so much of himself put into it. There wasn't a ton of over editing and all the pictures were stunning. He responded to me quickly but believe it or not the first time we met in person was my wedding day. When he arrived I felt at ease. Bryan was so nice and easy going all my concerns about making sure I had each picture I wanted immediately vanished. He blended into the background (which is hard for such a tall man!) and got stunning candid photos because of that. When we got engaged, I started looking at some wedding blogs and started to see Bryan's beautiful work pop up over and over and immediately fell in love with his work. My husband and I got married in San Diego on October 13, 2019 and retained Bryan for our wedding photos (which included engagement photos as well). Bryan was prompt and professional in all of his communications with us. I'm about 4 weeks out from our wedding, and just finished going through Bryan's amazing images of our day for about the umpteenth time, and -- just like every time before -- I'm completely overwhelmed by how perfectly he captured our day. From the first time we met Bryan (after meeting with several other photographers), it was so clear that he was our guy. Would you believe that of the 5 wedding photographers we spoke with, he was the ONLY one who asked us how we met?! At the core, he was really interested in getting to know us -- who we were as a couple, what our wedding meant to us, what this really represented -- and that spoke volumes about the rest of our experience working with him. On a day with many wonderful vendors, Bryan may have been my favorite. He was professional, kind, and a comforting presence in an atmosphere that could have been far more stressful for two people as private as my bride and me. Choosing a good wedding photographer was so important to us, and after narrowing our choices down based on portfolios, Bryan made the final choice very easy after effortless communication and a nice first meeting. He's a talented photographer but it's his personality and customer service skills that really set him apart from the others. Beyond being perfect to work with on our wedding day, the photos we received were perhaps even better than we were expecting. Bryan did a great job catching all the emotions of the day. And our first glances at the photos may have caused a few teary eyes. My wife and I, as amateur photographers, were also very pleased and impressed with how quickly he got photos back to us. The editing process (e.g. color correction, contrast adjustments, etc) can be tedious and time consuming. I take months to get through a decent sized batch of my own photos! Bryan got a selection of some of the best photos back to us in a day! And we got to see the rest only a couple of weeks later. If we were to do it all over again (We won't! Absolutely AMAZING! My (new) husband and I met Bryan through our wedding coordinator, Brenda @ Swann Soirees, and we couldn't have been happier. I love to "ham it up" in front of the camera but Patrick is a little less thrilled when told "you will be in a lot of pictures." That being said, Bryan has this way about him to make people feel comfortable and have fun no matter what. He was able to get fantastic shots and make it so fast too! We were not picky people when it came to locations for engagement photos, and all we had to do was tell Bryan what our interests were and he scoped out the perfect location for our shoot and it was amazing. The wedding day was even better, he was completely relaxed and had a great assistant, who's name I cannot remember to save my life! They both made sure we were all comfortable even though it was about 95 degrees that day and got pictures done nice and quick so we could enjoy the party. My husband and I heard about Bryan through our wedding planner, Amy. As soon as we met with him, we knew we could stop looking for a photographer because Bryan was a great fit for us. My husband and I have weird work schedules to work with, so Bryan met with us on a Sunday, which already gave him bonus points in my book. He was professional but also easygoing; he seemed to figure out right away exactly what type of pictures we'd like for our engagement session and wedding. The engagement session was so much fun, and the wedding was even better. Bryan and his assistant were both great throughout the wedding; they were professional and got so many great pictures. Bryan is about 6'5" so he can get better angles than most photographers! I think the CD we received ended up having about 1,000 pictures, including web-friendly versions (small enough to load to Facebook to share with friends and family). We just got our album, and WOW, we couldn't have asked for anything better. Plus, his prices can't be beat, especially here in San Diego. There are two main pieces to the photographer question that are really important to get right - 1) Talent - Will he take photos that take your breath away and make you feel like you threw the most exquisite party on Earth?
