We used Cindy for the first, and first of many times, in March. My entire family was coming into town for a rare reunion and it was on my father's bucket list to have a multigenerational photo shoot. Cindy delivered on all fronts. Her communication is spectacular. We were always kept in the loop of all logistics and details. We were also consulted and collaborated on things like location and attire. She was knowledgeable and very open to discussion. The day of the shoot, she was a pleasure to work with. She was patient with the little kids, caring towards the elderly, and fun with the rest. She worked so well with all of us, of all different ages. She not only got all the shots we wanted and hoped for, but continued to take additional candids, adding even more memories captured. After the shoot she delivered the final products and we were floored. They were all wonderful. They were even better than expected, with 3 little ones under 5 running around. I got engaged in August 2018 & married in Feb 2019. I found Cindy in Sept and I was more than happy that I found her via yelp! Her prices/packages are a great find. But once we spoke to her, and worked with her, her talent and friendliness was most important to us! I got the engagement/wedding package, and we did engagement photos in Sept 2019. She spent a little over an hour with us (the session calls for an hour) and she shot at Sutro Baths before which was helpful. My husband and I are pretty camera shy to see helped us feel more calm and at ease! This made us more excited to work with her in Feb for our wedding. She didn't shoot at our venue before so she offered to visit the venue with us in Nov! Throughout the planning process, she was kind, professional, and sweet. Our wedding day, she was punctual and her talent just reflected through all of our our engagement and wedding photos. This review will be quite long but we mean every word! Pre-wedding experience: My wife and I were married on July 1st and Orange Turtle was by far one of the best vendors we booked. Every step of the journey was so straight forward that we never had any doubts or concerns. Cindy has a great eye for detail and makes every process so clear. She was very intentional in getting to know us and it was clear that she cared not only for the photography but she also really cared for us as a couple! Even though planning for the wedding was hectic, we always felt assured that the photography would work out great. Wedding day: Cindy arrived promptly on time to take pictures of my wife and her bridesmaids and captured a bunch of special moments. There were so many moments that were captured during the ceremony that we really appreciated being able to look back on. Prior to the wedding, we asked Cindy if she could take a picture of all the guests (200+ people) after the ceremony and she kindly agreed to take that huge picture. It turned out really great! After the ceremony, we made our way to Iron Mountain which has a beautiful trailhead to take bridal party pictures. Cindy had never taken pictures at Iron Mountain but was able to scope out the best locations/lighting very quickly. It was like she had been there before! It was very hot that day but she worked so hard in the heat and was always giving us great ideas for the pictures. Photos: We recently received our photos and we were blown away by the professional quality of not only the photos themselves but also the packaging. Cindy took the time to handwrite a card to thank us and packaged printed photos and a customized USB containing all our pictures. It was a really nice touch and it was so special to receive such a nice package. I forgot to mention that before these photos were shipped to us, Cindy took the time to send us 4 ZIP files that included all the pictures so we could look through them while we waited for the package to arrive. Of all the wedding vendors that I worked with Orange Turtle was the most professional. From receiving an Introduction package upon booking to let me know exactly what to expect, to the actual photo taking during our engagement session and wedding day, to the packaging and thank you note after the fact. I LOVED our photos and our experience was A+ from start to finish. Cindy is extremely talented and I can't tell you how many of my friends complimented our photos. She has a unique point of view and I was amazed how natural we looked in every photo she captured. For our engagement shoot, they recommended a couple spots, but I actually suggested one of my favorite places in San Diego and they happily agreed. Take it from me, I've been married at least 10 times these guys are by far the best. They even took a picture of my dream while I was sleeping. The way they use the free light that God gave to everyone for the past millions of years and then lump it into an affordable package is just amazing! They even made me look average. I'm naturally a 1 or a 2 but when I view these photos, I'm at least a 4 1/2. None of my other 9 photographers we able to do that. This review is absolutely far too late. We got married in Nov. 2013, and I just got so overwhelmed with life, that this fell off my radar. I haven't looked at or thought about our wedding or engagement photos in a couple of years, honestly. I personally didn't even want wedding photos, I hate photos, and look awful in all of them. Then, recently, the topic has surfaced at my new job, so I have been looking back on our photos and I seriously could not be any happier. Cindy and Daniel were the most attentive and personable photographers ever. They had so many great ideas and were really just the best! We wanted to do something unique and true to us for our engagement photos at the SD Fair! Cindy and Daniel were so fun and supportive with that interesting idea and were totally down for anything! They made a super awkward thing really easy and comfortable, and actually suggested another beautiful location on a beach in Del Mar where you can see the fair's ferris wheel in the background. They actually went out and scouted the location for us, and it was just absolutely gorgeous and perfect. Randomly, they ended up getting pregnant between the time we first met and the time our wedding actually rolled around (Cindy was due like a few days before our wedding date!) and I'm not gonna lie, I went into panic-mode. True to their agreement and amazingness, Cindy and Daniel set us up with a similar photographer, Jackie Wonders (who is also awesome!!!), and everything turned out perfectly. Orange Turtle is really as good as it gets! Cindy and Daniel took both engagement shots and post-wedding shots for us. During the engagement shoot, their presence made the process really fun and relaxing, and we had lots of friends and relatives commenting on how they loved our engagement photos and how we looked natural (not posed) in them. For our wedding day, we hired photographers who at the time were better-known than Cindy and Daniel, but Cindy and Daniel were nice enough to take a few shots of us at the beach after our reception. Compared to our engagement shoot, we got even more comments from friends and relatives commenting on how much they loved our post-wedding photos, and we had to ask them whether they meant photos of our ceremony/reception or the beach photos that Cindy and Daniel took. We did a kid's Valentine's day photoshoot and also took photos with Cindy in celebration of my daughter's 3rd birthday. I LOVE how the photos turned out!! I can't believe how Cindy perfectly captured my daughter's personality and quirky expressions. Looking over our wedding photos by Orange Turtle, the word that comes to mind is "phosphorescent." They have this wonderful, subtle glow. The photography certainly captured the feeling of our wedding celebration and we were very pleased with everything. Our wedding was scheduled for 9/27/08 and we started the vendor search in 1/08. We stumbled upon Orange Turtle on an internet search and admittedly, the name and the note about rabbits in their description peaked our interest! We were definitely targeting warm and fuzzy photographers and they are it! They are disarming and wonderful with giving directions. They were extremely prompt with e-mail communications. Cindy of Orange Turtle is an AMAZING photographer. I have no idea what the total was on the ridiculous amount of hours and days I put into researching photographers in the southern california area, but of all the photos I saw, Orange Turtle was my favorite. My husband and I had decided early on that photographer was going to be one of the most important parts of our wedding. I couldn't be happier that we chose Orange Turtle to shoot our wedding. Cindy was so sweet and made us feel very relaxed. I am absolutely in love with the engagement session they did.
