Reading the program I saw that some of the players were acting a long time and some of them were recent grads from the FAU theater department. I thought everyone in the play did an excellent job. The facility is clean and nice. It is in a beautiful location. They were very organized and seating was easy. I would definitely come and see another show here.

The stage, props, costumes, makeup, tech equipment were all top notch! The chairs look like they took them from an old theatre and reused them. There are two restrooms for all the people to share during the intermission. There was plenty of time for everyone to use the facility. They do 4 productions a year and this one included adults. All the others are children only. The singing and performances from the actors was excellent. After the show you can talk with the cast. The sound and lighting was better than some shows I have seen at Parker Playhouse. Parking is easy. It's the third floor of the Dillard's parking garage. It is free and there are plenty of spots. I am going to keep my eye on their upcoming schedule and attend another great production.

I was HIGHLY disappointed when I went to the open house night. I was so excited about sending my 2…read morechildren there based on the photos I had seen online that I paid them in full for 3 weeks of summer camp. Boy, was that a MISTAKE! When I went to open house, I was able to see the Jelly Bean room which is way to small to hold 20 children and the carpet was so stained and dirty, I was actually in shock. Then they showed me the room where the kids eat and do arts and crafts which was even smaller, dirtier and looked like a storage room. I notified them that evening that I was EXTREMELY unhappy with the cleanliness of the facility and told them I would not be sending my kids there. That's when they told me that had to have my "dispute" reviewed by a board which only meets once a month. Anyway, long story short, I am having to fight to get my money returned. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and check out the facility before you actually pay them.

I was offered free tickets and had no idea what to expect, the only reason I didn't walk out was to see what the hell else they could possibly do next to offend the audience. I was also hoping for some kind of redemption, to no avail. The cast was great but I have to wonder why they would agree to take the roles after reading the script. If you have any respect for women or insight into how damaging misogynistic humor is to our culture, pass on this production. Slow Burn, you can do better.

We're always happy with Slow Burn productions - but the performance we saw last night of "Rent" was…read morejust over the top - outstanding in so many ways. I couldn't get over how excellent the actors were - really strong voices. Besides the voices - the production was so well staged. The set is not a simple one, on several levels - and it worked so well. This is a really exuberant production - alot of movement , lighting changes, and ensemble singing. For "Rent" lovers and for anyone who has never seen "Rent" - I'd recommend getting tickets right now. It's a performance that's not to be missed. Rent has a wonderful score, I was looking forward to hearing the songs again - and I was thrilled with every single song. . .and the musical numbers are so enhanced by a live orchestra! We love Slow Burn! We're excited that next year the Slow Burn productions will move from west Boca to the Amaturo theatre at the Broward Center.

The Clairvoyants Christmas | Snoqualmie Casino, WA | December 2019…read more Along with the rest of America, I was stunned by The Clairvoyants (Thommy Ten & Amélie van Tass) who came in second place during their season of America's Got Talent. What they present is much more than talent and more like magical phenomena. After 1.5 hours of unbelievable mentalism, sprinkled with comedic bits and messages of inspiration, they left the audience speechless; all I could say was "HOW?". Through an opening video, they started the show with audience participation, which they relied on heavily for all of their acts. By throwing light items (e.g. beach balls) into the crowd, or having someone from the audience choose anyone in the room at random, The Clairvoyants emphasize that nothing is predetermined. Whether sitting in the front or back, anyone in the audience is fair game for being called upon or going up on stage. I loved their mix of a few elaborate acts and others that were quick and to the point. One of my favorites was where they asked several people each a question to which each person replied with a number. All those numbers were then revealed to be printed (in order, I must add) on a lottery ticket in a box locked on stage. I was shocked. Next, they had a lady create a gingerbread man from a book by mixing-and-matching a head, body and feet out of 40000 combinations. After revealing her choice, they surpassed everyone's expectations by playing a video recorded earlier showing Amélie baking gingerbread men with that exact design. I was super shocked. One act involved their adorable dog, Koni, where they correctly stated the age and name of an audience member's pet. They also performed what I can best describe as telekinesis where Thommy appeared to control the movements of a blindfolded audience member only through gestures. Both Thommy and Amélie are natural performers and interacted well with the crowd in a casual and conversational manner. The show was structured well with seamless transitions in the form of engaging video segments. As the closing, Thommy walked around the entire room, collecting items one at a time from spectators and Amélie correctly guessed each one while completely blindfolded. She even took it a step further by correctly reciting a serial number on a dollar bill and the expiration date on someone's asthma inhaler. This is by far the best show I've ever seen live and would recommend to everyone of all ages. Even if I watched it several more times, I still would have no idea how they do it. I expect that they will be performing at much larger venues worldwide in no time. Of course I'm only speculating, but as for Thommy and Amélie who are masters of their craft, I suppose they already "see" what is to come.

Amélie van Tass and Thommy Ten perform as the Clairvoyants, an Austrian magician and mentalist duo…read morethat have been working together since 2011. The finished second to Grace VanderWaal on season 11 of America's Got Talent. They have gone on to win several awards and are currently on tour. I was familiar with the Clairvoyants from Americas Got Talent so when I found out they were coming to our area I grabbed tickets for my daughter and I to see the show. Their act did not disappoint. My daughter is extremely skeptical but we were both left wondering how did they do that? I don't want to google it on the internet either. I am happy just being entertained. To make sure that people were chosen at random and not planted they threw a lot of objects into the audience to pick who would come up and participate. A lot of their act involved mind reading. Thommy would hold an object from an audience member in his hand and a blindfolded Amélie would correctly guess what it was. Another trick had an audience randomly picking a jellybean and Amélie would identify the flavor. My favorite part of the show was when audience members were asked a bunch of random questions only to later reveal that all of their answers had been written on a paper in a locked box at the start of the show. Amélie was even able to correctly say the serial number on a bill that was in an audience members wallet. In between the tricks there were cute videos recalling their time on America's Got Talent. After the show the Clairvoyants signed autographs and sold books and posters in the lobby. I loved them on America's Got Talent and even more when I got to see a see a full show. Their tricks are amazing and really draw the audience in. They were one of my favorite acts from AGT and it is even more fun to see them live.

I saw The Wedding Singer and felt that the volume of the voices was dull. There was also a strange buzzing distortion sound from time to time. I can't tell you if it was a one time production fluke but it's a shame because they certainly have a hit if they can work out these auditory problems. Plenty of parking and reasonable prices make this a great option for anyone in the Pembroke Pines area.

I went to Andrews Living Arts Studio, which is essentially a small live performance playhouse…read moretheater. The stage play was "Big Bright Star," a single actor solo theatrical performance by a gay porn star concerning his life in the gay porn industry. It was brilliant top notch quality play and performance in every way, but this review is not about that play but about Andrews Living Arts Studio. It's just a small stage theater set up for live performances. It seems to cater to the very "offbeat," such as what some may refer to as the "Off-Off-Off Broadway." The place only seats around 40, has a little snack bar and serves up a really good popcorn that you can nibble upon during performances. The performances are mostly adult in nature, not something you'd take your kiddies to, and most seemingly with a gay sexual bent. The staff of Andrews Living Arts Studio which appeared to me to consist of one, was friendly, polite and charming. Seats are generally $35 of regular admission and $45 for front row seating. The seats are comfortable but exceptionally narrow, definitely not for those with extra-large frames of big dimensional rear ends. For what it is, being a small theater offering offbeat plays and performances, it's a real gem.

An emcee and two lady dancers made up the entertainment The two dancers performed dances from Tahiti and Hawaii while the emcee explained what we were seeing. The dancers then taught the dances to the audience. One of the dances included twirling around two balls at the end of a string which was fun. The dancers even had a costume change during the performance. After they were done performing they stayed to take pictures with everyone who wanted them. The audience participation was fun and everyone enjoyed themselves, boys and adults included. This is a great idea for entertainment for luau themed parties. Since Moana is so popular this is great for a girls Disney party too. I enjoyed their performance immensely.
