I've been to other spots [for a lash lift] that had me in for an hour session. I was in and out of this place 40 minutes. Which is okay but I find it odd that the technician would leave the perm on for 2 rounds of JUST 5 minutes. Maybe their lash lifts only acquire that time frame? Leaving the place my lashes looked great at first, somewhat curled and lifted. Then coming home after running errands, I noticed my lashes barely curled, they are lifted slightly. I always had great results at other locations, they were lifted quite high with a nice curl. Especially since my lashes are stubborn and straight, lash lifts have been great for me and that's why I get them. Coming here has been nice, with friendly staff, super cute decor and great ambiance. 3 stars for that, minus 2 stars for poor results. Sadly I don't think I will return for this service again. Maybe they need to customize lash lifts for those who suffer from straight lashes like mine, with a different type of perming solution. But I'm not an expert on this, just speaking from past experiences.

I also wanted to go back and receive the paraffin treatment that I did not receive and paid for included in the $65 spa gel pedi package. It was promised to me upon leaving on the same date because the way the services were rendered was all over the place and with three different people after the "experienced" nail tech refused to do the spa part, like if it's below her or something and she refused to rub my feet specifically because I watched her do other people! She was acting weird with me from the very beginning and I was kind to everyone!! So she got one of the less experienced girls to do it, and instead Anita stepped in and did it. The owner, Anita said to come back in 4 weeks for it. Well I went back on Aug 3 and put in the notes that a complimentary paraffin treatment was supposed to happen from the last time. Mind you, through the app they set up a profile for me from last time (May 25th appt.) and when I went to rebook this month I noticed the pricing breakdown as $50 for pedi, $15 for spa, and the highest price $30! for nail art (double French or something like that) Okay, what I had asked for vs. what I got was only thin lines drawn on free hand by a thin brush with many colours across only three nails, one being my big toe on the right foot and the other two middle toes on the left, then all other nails were different colours cute summer colours including the trending turquoise. By no means were there intricate designs or even jewels put on but the price was bumped up to $95 for a pedi?!? The design was difficult for this particular tech I guess, as she tried to persuade me not to do it the second time I came while rolling her eyes and making funny faces like I was hassling her by asking questions. Of course I inquired about the bump in price, and she then agreed that I could pay the same price. Keep this in mind as you read...also the MANI-PEDIS W/ NAIL ART page of the website is totally cringe. I'm almost certain the nail tech wrote it *rolls eyes*. Needless to say I won't be back, they are an inexperienced salon (read about my experience in NY for comparison) if you like that, then go here! Anita is kind but has the ability to switch up on you depending on the nail tech attitude. I think she really runs the place...lol. Anyway, I digress. Enjoy the read below. It's long but please do take a deep dive if you have time. Trust me, it will help you decide. May 25th visit: Hhhmmm, so let me start with the positives. Most of the staff are very kind, except one who I could do without, then the rest tend to follow behind whatever she says even though you are treating everybody kindly. But hey, some people mistake kindness for weakness, especially when they are insecure about what they bring to the table. But hey, I did my best to keep my cool and not her back the same weird attitude she was giving me. This person, who I assume has a certificate from George Brown (so does the owner, hanging on the wall) is the nail tech and her nail art was just okay. I think she was more pleased with it than I was but if I send a message with a photo and ask if you can do something and the person in the other end replies "Yup, no problem", well that's what I'm thinking. Anyway, the girl that did my nail art was very unsure as to IF she could even do it. I asked if I could pick something else then but she said she'd try in this iffy way, it was weird. Honestly, it was subpar as well as her customer service. I mean if you're not going to talk to me I'm not talking. Like this is your job, not mine. She talked up the women she was doing before me and after, so that was a choice. Not sure what her problem is. Here's me trying to engage her by saying oh it looks nice. I ended up acting pleased because she had an attitude and seemed like she liked her subpar work more than I did. I just went with it, I didn't feel like being rude as it was my birthday. But when she ripped the toe nail splitter off my left foot, I had to give a slight warning and under my breath and I said "don't p*ss me off" so that she knew she should relax. PLUS she kept switching the curing machine abruptly from one foot to the other foot, but at times not turning it on. So ladies if you're not paying attention, then your gel nail polish is not getting cured properly and most likely won't last long for the money you pay. I also had to tell her that the machine was not on. She was just very abrupt at times and i don't like that! She was rude and passive aggressive, for what reason? I'm not sure. I probably should have given her less of a tip and the owner more since she was more attentive but I wasn't sure how they were going to split it. Enough with the cattiness, the owner and all other staff were very pleasant and I left a good tip. To be continued...

I wish I could give 0 star…read more I went there on Wednesday when they had 25% discount on mani/pedi combo. Here is what happened after my mani/pedi: After receiving an email from the salon saying "if you wish to share any feedback, feel free to get in touch..", so I email the salon what happened and how I felt: "Hello, I had mani/pedi today. I think the person look after me was Camelia. During the pedicure, I felt a bit of pain when she was working on cuticles. When I was coming home, I noticed My big toe was bleeding. I wiped it with alcohol after I came home but it's still bit red. I was disappointed that there aren't many color choices at your salon. It was hard to choose the color I like and also suit to my skin tone." And the response from the salon was this: "Hi Hiroko, I apologize if your cuticle was nicked. Our policy is gentle cuticle care but unfortunately accidents happen sometimes. Usually we are able to catch any incidences at the visit but sometimes it doesn't show up until later. In the meanwhile, I'd recommend washing it and applying antibiotic ointment and a bandaid to be on the safe side. Keep it clean and watch out for any signs of infection over the next few days. See you doctor if you have any concerns. I'll speak to Camelia regarding this so she can be more careful in the future. In all honesty, I am quite shocked with your criticism of our colour selection. We pride ourselves in having a vast array of colour options. In fact we have almost 300 colours to choose from and a variety of lines to suit different preferences. We are very aware of inclusivity and work hard to source flattering colours for all skin tones. In fact, more often than not we have clients comment on how hard it is to choose a colour because we have too many options. I'm not sure what more you could expect but I apologize that we weren't able to meet your expectations of colour selection. We think it is more important to use quality brands with healthy ingredients than to stock thousands of cheap polishes with dangerous ingredients. Regardless, it doesn't seem like we are the salon for you and I wish you the best of luck with finding a salon that suits you better. Sincerely, Emily" This was by far the worst experience for me in any nail salons I've been to.

I came to the conclusion that my hair needed to be dyed... one colour! I recently ran into an acquaintance from college who I found out is a part owner of a salon in the Danforth. Since I have no loyalty to hair salons and wanted try a new place I booked an appointment t see her that week. Even though this location is super far from my place, it is conveniently located next to Chester station. I went up to the second floor and was greeted by the friendliest assistant I had even encountered. She brought me tea and showed me to my seat. Mandye (the hair dresser) went over colour options with me and suggested a couple different things she thought would work well. Their selection of trashy tabloid magazines was impressive and faster than I could say "what other ho did Jesse James sleep with?!" I was done and ready for my bang trim. In the end the service was good, my colour is great and as a bonus there is an AMAZING shoe shop (Balisi) a few doors down.

Bonus fun and enjoyable part was Kel, the shampooist. A very pleasant person to be around. Perhaps the best part of my visit, was probably when she massaged my scalp so wonderfully with that peppermint hair product. *drool* I wonder if we can get our scalp massaged like that, all day long??? I only wished that I was offered water, I had to ask for it, twice. (The last hair salon that I went to was Evoke (uptown). They spoiled me w/ juicy mixes (cranberry with grapefruit), and happened to be sharing some rich chocolate cake with all clients that day). Forgiveable, though. Also, I would have preferred the assortment of magazines to be closer to me. I sat in my chair while the colour set, blah'd and bored. I texted, but in the end I was still bored and too physically tired from all my other errands that day to bother getting up and picking some mags up. I surely would have looked at them, were a few brought over. Overall, it was a good experience. I'd be open to going again, but would be willing to pay a bit more for more service (drinks). Kel is a great and personable shampooist, I'd love to go back just for a shampoo and scalp massage!
