    green goji salad
    Anne G.

Trotted here en route to the beach. Green goji salad was tasty and light - definitely healthy! Crispy king prawn with chili and aioli wasn't what I was expecting though :/ Batter was tasteless and not crispy. Coffee was lovely. Wanted an acai bowl but they didn't have and was conned into trying their maqui? infused coco whip (something like frozen yoghurt) but I didn't like it. BSKT cafe, why u no serve acai bowls? :(

Food is beautifully thought out and caters for people with intolerances, though I was told they don't do 'substitutes' when I asked for no creamy sauce on my fish. That was a bit weird given the concept of the place. A great place for groups or friends eating with vegan, vegetarians and normal carnivores. The menu is pretty awesome and hard to choose from - there's so much good stuff! I think it's a great place but I was disappointed with the service, which was indifferent and unhelpful at times. It wasn't busy but no one came to ask us if we needed or wanted anything, and when I asked for the ingredients for certain items their answers were clumsy. We're giving it another go for lunch though!

This is one of my favorite cafes I ate at my entire time I was abroad in Australia. I came here based on the recommendation in the lonely planet, and I also took their food recommendation and I haven't regretted it any day since. They recommended the goat cheese quesadilla and wow, but I'll go into that in a bit. Let's break it all down: 1. Atmosphere/location: when you first try to find the place, it's in the middle of a neighborhood and you get skeptical. But it's one block away from the beach, and you can even see it from the back outdoor seating, so it makes sense now. The atmosphere is a pretty cliche Australian outdoor cafe, it has potted plants and wooden tables and wooden bars. It's got plenty of seating, but fills up particularly fast on weekends for brunch. They do allow outdoor seating with dogs. 2. Service: This is the one part that gives me a bad vibe. The servers are not polite and are not attentive. There were so many times over the multiple meals I had here where I could not find a waiter or get their attention, and would either have to ask another waiter for assistance or go up to the desk and ask to be served. Sour note in my mouth when service does not pay attention to customers, I even had to ask two waiters for a menu before even when I knew what I wanted. Then I could find them to order my meal. 3. Food: This is where this place shines. They focus on gluten free, paleo, superfoods that provide healthy, filling, and satisfying meals. As I mentioned, I get the goat cheese quesadilla and this is the best quesadilla I've ever had in my life. It's spectacularly different than any quesadilla one could have. The waiter last time recommended I get grilled chicken on the side and put it in them, so if I end up going once more ill do that, but idk if I'll be able to. Their smoothies are delicious, but not thick like I'd hope (American smoothies are ice/yogurt based so they're thicker) but these were still good: banana cinnamon is great. Everything on the menu sounds awesome and every time I go I contemplate trying new things and exploring the menu. If you're lucky enough to do that, definitely abuse that you have that opportunity. Overview: Food is awesome, location is surprisingly well thought out, but service is disappointing. Definitely one of my favorite places to go.

Love this place! BSKT is great for a healthy little weekend (or any day, if you're like me) brunch. To no one's surprise, I ordered the BSKT Healthy Benny and it was phenomenal. Would definitely go back if I still lived in Gold Coast.

I got the pancakes and they were totally awesome. I bet that I will have dreams about them. Too bad this place is on the other side of the world...I would totally go back to try everything on the menu.

This is the Paleo zucchini pasta with kale and basil pesto. A taste revelation!

What a brilliant restaurant and what a menu! I had no idea that healthy could taste so sophisticated. We went with a group of 7 that included 2 coeliacs and the menu was supportive for all of us. The wine list was short sharp and perfect. The atmosphere was funky easy and fun with relaxed and efficient service. I has the vegan paleo zucchini pasta with kale and basil pesto. Fantastic what a wonderful meal. The waitperson suggested a side of chicken and it was perfect. Booking on the weekend is a must.

    Fish tacos $24, bit pricey.

Good feed and good coffee. Bit too busy for a casual country lad. Definatley more chill places in the locality a little further from beach.

Banana smoothie was warm with no flavour and starchy unripe banana. Pancakes flavourless, coco whip also didn't impress.

OK so normally I don't like these trendy super-schmick kinds of places (of which Broadbeach has…read moremany) but the food here was REALLY REALLY good. And this is a burger place. And I'm a vegan. I was vacationing on the Gold Coast with my parents, and we went in here for dinner on a whim because we were dressed pretty casually and they looked a little more forgiving of boardshorts and flip-flops than the other trendy dinner spots nearby. At first I had my reservations about whether or not I could eat anything here, but when I told the manager I was vegan, he didn't even bat an eye. He said they have two veggie burgers on the menu, neither of which uses egg in the binder. He volunteered this information on his own -- I didn't even have to ask, which definitely shows he's knowledgeable about veganism, because most restaurant proprietors have no clue that a lot of veggie burgers use egg. There are two veggie burgers -- the Eats Roots and Leaves ($14.50, red lentil and chickpea patty with coleslaw and tomato relish) and the Magic Mushroom ($12, mushroom patty with lettuce, red peppers, feta, and garlic ailoi). He told me the Magic Mushroom could be made vegan without the feta and aioli, but I'm not a mushroom fanatic so I opted with the Eats Roots and Leaves, which was DELICIOUS. All the flavours just melded together perfectly, and the patty stayed together perfectly, no crumbling. The bun wasn't too scratchy or hard (like some burger buns in Oz are) and it was a very filling dinner with a side of fries for under $20. My parents also enjoyed their (meaty) burgers and fries. Make no mistake, this place is a drinking establishment too -- as evidenced by their splashy cocktail and wine list, and the raucous (possible hen's party) group of women enjoying their bevvies next to us. So you don't have to have a meal here to enjoy this place (although the food really is great.) The atmosphere is...well, Broadbeach. Trendy, shiny, and all those other adjectives. A splashy mural was painted on one wall, depicting a typical Gold Coast beach scene (including bikini-clad maidens and ibis stealing food), and some of the seating areas had swings suspended from the ceiling as chairs! I wanted to sit at a table with swings, but my parents weren't keen and the hen's party swooped in and seized them anyway. The place is buzzing, it's trendy, it's very Broadbeach-y -- but the food is delicious and it's a fun place, and I love that they are so accommodating for vegans.

Who doesn't like a good burger? And who doesn't like a good bar? Nobody worth knowing, that's who…read more And here we have a burger bar, combining the very best of both. Tucked away in the swanky strip of bars and restaurants along Oracle Boulevard in Broadbeach, this place is a pleasant surprise. Pleasant because it's welcoming and hip at the same time - not an easy trick to pull off - and surprising because the food is actually reasonably priced while also being delicious. I like everything about this joint. For a start, there's a wide array of seating to suit just about any group. Tables inside and out to suit parties of all sizes, a couple of comfy couches, an actual bar with bar stools in case you're on your own, and even a few swing seats hung from the ceiling (haven't seen that before). The bar is well stocked with an excellent array of beers from the crafty to the usual suspects, and a wine list of similar merit sits comfortably alongside what looks a handy offering of cocktail choices for those that way inclined. I enjoyed the 'Cow Pig Cow' burger but there's one for every taste, including fish and vegie options, and other nibblies for those not in the burger mood. Get there.

Not knowing anything about the paleo diet, we discovered that this establishment is a proponent of all things paleo. We had the paleo brekky and were hooked. Their coconut yoghurt is absolutely divine. Grass fed beef and organic chicken used to make their bone broth...this type of establishment is not what the multinational food corporations want you to know about. The energy and vitality one ingests from consuming real whole foods makes one wonder why one ate multinational crap and junk food for so long! I also bought the family sized take home vacuum pack of chicken bone broth. Wow! What a meal. Absolutely love this food and the clean eating lifestyle it promotes. When ever I eat at a cafe I usually order the big breakfast, preferring not to eat the carbs. Brio doesn't do big breakfasts, but the breakfast they do do are so much better for ya. Been eating there everyday since. I missed Saturday but made up for that by going in twice on Friday! #boom They are closed Sunday. Love, love and mad love.
