Great bunch of staff. Store had everything we needed, quality items, & very much worth the stop in. In small towns places like this are life savers. Forgot to take pictures, but it is an Ace hardware so pretty much a given on what it stocks. Prices were reasonable even though they could charge more. Even had a few items for the RV. A small town's version of a baby Wal Mart, this place sells things from tools, generators, plants, appliances and BBQ grills to dishes, shoes, clothes, toys, office supplies and pet supplies. Okay....I am FURIOUS! I met some friends from Bremerton at Ace (Buck Electric) here in Ocean Shores, and the so-called owner Joe, came out and rudely asked us, "What are you all doing here?" I told him l'm a local, and I shop there all the time, and that I am meeting my friends here to pick up some items. "Joe", told me to my face, that he didn't care if I shopped there or not, "You all need to get your vehicles off my parking lot". Well Joe, "I own four houses here, and commercial property just about across the street from you, and if this is how you are going to treat locals, I will never step foot in your store again!" Who do you think you are! We locals spend hundreds of dollars at your store, and I hope the rest of them quit coming there also! I will open up my own hardware store here! You better get some parking lot police, to stop all of us that meet there, to pick up Facebook marketplace items! See you around, but not in your store! Today I bought a 1 pound box of 2 inch siding nails. At this Ace store, $20. My wife thought I was nuts for paying that much. So I went online to look for a better price. At Lowes, $6. At Home Depot, $11. Did I expect to pay a little more at the hardware store in my small town? Sure. But 3x more? Come on guys. read more

This is not just an Ace Hardware, it is a cornerstone for the Ocean Shores Community! I absolutely love this store and the people who work here. Chris in electrical is a newer hire, but helped guide me with information and recommended the proper parts for the project I was working on. Total pro!! All of the people at the checkstands are friendly, patient and professional. It might cost a bit more, but the customer service at this establishment is beyond excellent! You can get most everything you need for your home improvement project and if they don't carry it, they will tell you where you can get it. Need guitar strings or a disc golf disc? Yep... they have them!! The sporting goods section can handle all of your fishing and clamming needs and there are plenty of local, experienced folks working there that can give you a tip or two! I bought a home here last year and have spent a lot of time in the store! You have to go there and see it for yourself to appreciate how awesome it is! The only thing I haven't got that I requested from the store is a parking spot with my name on it... LOL!! Still working on it!! read more

Just a correction since I'm now unable to edit my review. My daughter clarified that no one came to her house. The two men demonstrated at the store how to install a new thing (forget what it was) for her garbage and talked her through how to fix her dishwasher and what to avoid for prevent future problems. They were extremely helpful, giving my new homeowner daughter the confidence to do many DIY projects on her own. read more

These guys are absolutely fantastic to work with. I had a drunk driver knock out the power pole outside my home and disconnect the power, damaging the meter box on the house. I was out of town but Buck Electric was super-helpful about getting the damage investigated and then repaired. They even had the PUD reconnect power so I didn't have to deal with it. Top notch service from Mike and the rest of the team. I wouldn't use anyone else for electrical work in Grays Harbor after the excellent service I received. You don't find contractors like these guys every day. The Ace Hardware store is also very good. Clean, big and well stocked place that's saved me several trips to the HD in Aberdeen. We were in town for a mini getaway and my husband forgot his swim trunks. We went around looking at several different shops everything was just way too expensive and we did not want to spend that money on swim trunks. We decided that we were going to settle for some basketball shorts for him and none of the other gift shots had them and I lady told us to go check out this place and we just looked at her strangely thinking Aces... Why would they have this? But we were so amazed by what they had! They literally have everything! From home Decour two sweaters jackets to rain boots you name it they have it! It's not just a hardware store - although the hardware selection is excellent - but they have *everything*. toys, home goods, pet stuff, electronics, etc. Everyone here is super friendly. Did not expect when we moved to the area that this would end up being one of our favorite stores - but here we are. What a world. I am amazed how much stuff they have in the store without the store looking crowded. The shelves are very organized and not so tight together that you bump into other people. They have a great variety of things that is necessary. They also have a section of the store that has household goods. The only thing lacking is their gardening section, where there aren't a lot of plants. But I can sort of understand why. Ocean Shores is a resort community and a lot of the residents aren't there year round. Besides, the deer in the community might come over and eat up every plant they put out. read more

My family and me went to look for any sort of baby clothes available because we decided to have an impromptu stay in Ocean Shores. Even though the options were extremely slim to one or two items of clothing there was a sweet older lady who was very helpful. Other than that everyone else kept following us around the store and making comments about a missing wallet. My husband is a Cambodian darker skinned man and he was holding our baby with a baby carrier. One worker even made a comment about how the baby carrier looks like something was stuffed in there and then proceeded to follow us to the counter for check out. He made it a point to tell the cashier we were checking out with that there is a missing wallets dm though she already knew about it. We felt so uncomfortable and racially profiled. This kind of treatment from ACE makes us not want to come back. If anyone from ACE is reading this I recommend that you challenge your bias and try to become a higher level thinker. It is very ignorant to jump to conclusions and assume that all darker skinned people are thieves. My husband is a hard working and honest man who does not deserve this kind of stereotyping every time we go leave the urban community. Do a favor to your patrons to try and get to know your customers. It makes you feel good and it makes them feel good too. read more

If you want to feel like John Wick Jr, surrounded by people, all intense ready to lash out at you at any minute. I'm talking my back is against the wall of hardware and I got 2 on my left, 2 on my right. To make this more of a trip, all these employees are dressed in their Halloween costumes! I can barely identify, are these are employees, or random crazy bystanders! After this experience, I've concluded, BOTH! I enter the store, and have mask on shopping without any problems. After a min or so I rub my nose, which causes the mask to expose the end of my nose. As I'm walking through the aisle, I'm told to cover my nose. The individual who first approached me, is in full Witch costume. I had no idea she worked there. I said "no thank you, my mouth and nostrils are still covered." She stormed off and it couldn't have been 45 seconds, I hear something strange over the store intercoms. Within seconds I have 4 people, each in a different costume surrounding me. I wish I had my phone to record how creepy this went down. They literally we're trying to flank me as I was talking. I kept noticing a particular man trying to get behind me. I had to make a choice, so I split between them, down a different aisle way. I have never speed walked in my life but I sure as heck wanted to! They continued to work around different directions, I informed them I wanted nothing to do with their store and wanted out of there now. Honestly the craziest thing I've seen in any store, anywhere! read more

This business is located inside Ace Hardware. You basically have to call Ace Hardware to get them. Best to call first thing in the morning or close to 5:00 PM, or you don't get anyone as they are out on calls. These are the "go to" people if you need electrical work. They know the drill, to include coordination, if needed, with the local utilities and state inspectors. However, don't expect them to work on your timetable. You can call them, but they will "prioritize" you. I was originally "low priority" and was scheduled "out there" but then something happened and they moved me up the list or had an unexpected opening or both, but got my small project done earlier than originally projected. They did a good job. They send you a bill after the work is completed. read more

Buck Electric is terrible, they worked at my house in Ocean Shores for 2 hours, then billed me for 5 hours. After I refused to overpay they send to collections ! Strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

Here is the best of urban Chicagoland + rural Big Rock -- wide inventory likely to have what you want plus friendly salespeople who know where everything is, how it works, and how you might better or more cheaply get "the job done." If they don't have it I can do without it or travel to Olympia for a rare item. Prices compare to national stores in Aberdeen, often better. Service is as good as it gets. It is good as any and better than some. read more

They follow customers around, as if they are making sure they are not stealing. If they have theft issues, they need to be monitoring their employee's, and buy more camera's. It's a miserable experience when you are followed around by staff, while you shop.. I pray someday someone does it to you, other than that the staff are very friendly. Just can't shop at a store, that i'm constantly "watched" by staff. NO WONDER EVERYONE goes to ABERDEEN / HOQUIAM to shop. Also, check receipt they charged me for extra pieces that I did not purchase. Instead of charging 1, they charged me for 3. Or if you need something in town, go to LEVEE LUMBER instead. read more

Very good customer service and accomodating staff. It was stormy windy week and I was running out of firewoods. I couldn't go since I don't have a car and even from walking going there was still hard due to the bad weather. So I tried to call the store and asked if they can deliver a bundle of woods and they right away attend to my needs and in 30 mins after my woods arrived. thanks to ACE Hardware for a job well done. I come here when im in town to buy things i need for clamming. Like clam guns its cheaper here ( $11 and up deals). So many kinds . They have lots of stuff for beach things. I always buy my clam license here too. Employees are nice and helpful. read more

Though they have your typical hardware fare, what they have in greatest abundance is attitude. Every time I come in here (and I have using this store off and on for almost 16 years), I continue to be amazed that management stands and supports the attitudes given by most of the staff. Ace IS the place with the helpful hardware folks. You are always greeted when you walk into the store. They have actual electricians that know what they are talking about. We were in a pickle by not having the right chuck size on our drill. Cory went above and beyond - took the drill to the back, used a vice grip to get our old chuck off and installed the new one. We had what we needed to complete the job - we live far away and were in the middle of installing electrical on our lot. Can't thank them enough! read more

I have lived in ocean shores for 5+ years and been a regular customer here for all kinds of things. They do have a large selection, but with the way their prices have gone up you're better off at the IGA, which is notoriously overpriced. What really set me off was going in with my elderly father. We were there for a long list of items, and were not expecting any problems with purchasing them. The cashier we went to seemed new, she was a younger girl and none too friendly. My father asked if they sold batteries for his car remote and she rolled her eyes and said "I would think so." After getting him a battery, we asked about the propane exchange. Instead of ringing us up we were told we would have to get out of line and wait for someone to come from the back to get the new tank. So we stood at the front of the store, exchanged our tank, and had to get back in a line that was now 5 people long to wait all over again to pay. Finally when it was our turn again, my father pulled out his debit card that he shares with his long term girlfriend. It's a prepaid card and in her name, but its a small town and he's never had a problem using it before, because everyone knows both of them. The cashier told him she would have to call her manager and ask if he was allowed to use it. On the phone with her manager she made no effort to make his case, and upon hanging up told him he couldn't use his debit card. He's an older man and didn't understand, and when he asked if she could just run it as credit she laughed at his confusion and refused him. At that point he was flustered and embarrassed so I stepped in, we had to go back to the car and re-exchange our propane tank, and return the other items. We will never shop here again, the level of disrespect and lack of customer service all the way up to the manager was appalling, GO TO LEVEE LUMBER INSTEAD!!! read more
