I find Dollarama mostly has "made exclusively for Dollarama items" Dollar Tree is more of a treasure hunt, lol. I sometimes find more exotic products and things I would expect to find at Winners or Homesense than at a dollar store. They often have organic products. Very recently I found some organic grain mixtures. The inventory at Dollar Tree changes more often and I really like the food products. I found some bottles of Snapple at this location. Snapple reminds me of my youth and is not that easy to find in Ottawa. They also had different flavours of Brio and also Faygo Sodas! I've also spotted the Taiwanese brand Mr. Brown coffee in a can here. They didn't have the more exotic Macadamia Nut flavour though, just the more "regular" flavours, lol. This location also has lots of Arts and Crafts supplies, which I love. The different types of glue (e.g wood glue, fabric glue, etc.). This location also carries the largest selection of button batteries like for watches, hearing aids and garage door openers. I love this location. It's my favourite Dollar Tree in the city. Too bad it's so far from me. It's in a plaza with lots of free parking. Same plaza as Food Basics, Adonis and Decathlon.

It's still a good deal and I like that everything is one price unlike at Dollarama where things are like up to $5 (and things aren't always clearly marked so sometimes there are surprises when you reach the checkout, but not here at Dollar Tree!) Anyway, this location is at the Nepean Crossroads Plaza. There's also a Dollarama in the plaza, as well as a Canadian Tire, and other businesses. There are also not one, but 2 chip wagons in the plaza parking lot. This Dollar Tree location is pretty good. It's fairly large and has a good selection of products. Like other Dollar Trees inventory varies, sometimes they have lots of something and sometimes you can't find that item at all. I think that's the fun of poking around. On my most recent visit, I spotted some American Apparel T-Shirts in a variety of sizes and colours. I also saw some probiotics drinks (teas and sparkling waters). Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot.

I love a good greeting card store. This one has the best selection of cards for any occasion. I got one for my friend saying, "Happy birthday to my favourite vegan friend." I can't wait to give this card to her next year. Yep, I plan that far in advance. The punny cards were hysterical. We were laughing so hard in a fairly quiet store. Luckily, we weren't kicked out. Excellent cards! I also liked the stationery and writing instruments. This store carries Lamy fountain pens, which I hadn't seen in ages. I also loved these huge puffy stickers. My laptop has no room for large stickers these days. If it did, I would have bought one in a heartbeat. I also liked the pencil sharpener that had three different pencil sizes to use. Fancy! If you are looking for a gift for someone, this store had a bunch of cool suggestions. Everything from Sun Jellies totes, to candles and drinkware can be found here. There were even astronaut-themed erasers and candles. So cool! I went to pay for my card. The woman indicated that there was a sticker on the back of the card that may be an issue. Maybe I'm so used to taking off stickers from any surface that I did it at the store without any hesitation. Done! I paid for my card with a debit card. The transaction was smooth. I got my card with an envelope in a small paper bag. The woman at this store was friendly and cared about the quality of her items that customers were about to possess. It was a wonderful find. Back in November 2015, I stayed in ByWard Market and walked around. I stumbled across this gem. The store sells stationery, greeting cards, fountain pens, and more. I ended up getting two greeting cards. I got one with a polar bear for a friend who absolutely loved it. I got another one that showed the Rideau Canal during the winter for another friend. I love unique cards and she was thrilled that I thought about her during my trip. I have always loved stationery and pens. This store has a fantastic selection of fountain pens. I remember longingly looking at all the Lamy pens and ink refills. There are plenty of notebooks to choose from if you like scribbling notes here and there. It's nice adopting the old-school method of doing things, especially when you cell phone, laptop, or tablet runs out of battery power. I'm so glad that this store continues to exist and thrive. It's closer to the U.S. Embassy. It's worth dropping by, especially when you are looking for cool gift ideas. (212)

They even come with an easy and tasty butter cookie recipe in English or French. I've got dozens of them - they're great, and only $2.50 a piece. I make these cookies all year, using different themed presses, depending on which holiday is coming up. Read: RECOMMEND. The store looks deceivingly small from the street, but it's a deeper store than it looks from outside. They sell arts and crafts made locally, some Indian art, and touristy types of things - the perfect gift for visitors to this fair city, and for the locals. They have offered colourful silk scarves, Dream Catchers, slippers, mitts, hats, paper gifts, wood carvings, and much much more. The place is eye candy! Ok, go shopping now, and then go bake! :-)

When you walk in, you're welcome with a bunch of Pokemon stuffies on the left and a bunch of stationary on the right. As you go deeper into the store, there's more toys and stationary. When you get to the back of the store there are some kitchen supply items like bento boxes, travel mugs and much more. There's no food or snacks but the other things make up for the loss of Tokyo Store on Elgin street a couple of years back. Come check out the store yourself!

Great place to get cheap Kitchen utensils, office supplies, electronic accessories, tools, etc. You can pick up rainx wiper blades every so often here for $3 which is a steal, just shows how badly ae get gouged on them. This is also my goto pre movie stop for cheap snacks and candy. The staff are all friendly and they're pretty good with getting extra cashiers to the front when it's busy.
