POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE TIMES 10…read more In 2009 my husband and I decided to replace both cars simultaneously. Interest rates were great and the market stale so there were deals to be had. My husband once worked in Chillicothe and suggested the Credit Union there. He had used them in the past without incident as far as I know. Both lending experiences happened at approximately the same time or else we would have used someone else. Both experiences were less then to be desired. At one point during the lending process on the first loan, the dealership called us personally to find out what the delay was; we had the vehicle. Apparently, the employee at CFCU had gone on medical leave, which we understand that can happen as it's hard to predict those things, however, no one bothered to inform us of this. It wasn't until we stated that the delearship was inquiring that another employee found our paperwork a day later. After our paperwork was completed we were mailed a coupon booklet with the incorrect amount. It was 8 cents short. It took them 2 months to notify us of this discrepancy. Although it was nice of them to take the money from another account, my husband had $9 left over from his last auto loan payoff which they never mailed to us, in order to make up the difference, it would have been nice had the mistake not been made at all. But ok, mistakes happen. We were willing to give them the benefit of doubt. On the second loan, the initial paperwork went smoothly, the follow up, not so much. We were not mailed a booklet and so I did my best to get the payments to them thinking all the while they would mail me all of the proper paperwork. Yes I admit I was a few days late on a few of the payments but I wasn't too concerned because we ach payments once everything is finalized and I figured it would get taken care of when I finally got everything in the mail. Instead, we never did end up with the booklet. I tried calling several times and even sent a follow up email (I will look for it to add at the end of this post but its been several years and I may not have kept it). I could not get a person on the phone at the time and the answering machine or voice mail, which ever they had, did not have an outgoing message and so I wasn't sure if I was even leaving a message. No one was returning my phone calls. Apparently they did not get one of the payments and they claim I was mailed a letter. I got no such letter. Just like I didn't get the payment booklet. Instead, my husband finally got an email at work regarding the missing payment. I could take no more, especially after the unsympathetic email I got back from earlier. Thank goodness we finally got the correct amount set up via ach. Imagine my surprise when we went to refinance the house two months ago and found out that CFCU had reported us to Equifax. I have spoken to several people at the credit union in an attempt to refute the reporting; one of which, Laura I believe, told me "you are blowing this out of proportion." I guess since it isn't her credit report, she isn't too concerned. I even suggested that she look at all of our timely payments on his previous vehicle and our new ones over the past 3 years. They didn't care and refuse to acknowledge that it could be a problem on their end. I have no idea what happened. Thankfully we still have an excellent credit score; I don't miss payments. The payment was made. Was the person who processes the payments out on leave? Did it get lost somewhere in their office? Perhaps they had something incorrect in my mailing address? I will never know. They are unwilling to concede anything. At no time during the last phone call, did their manager apologize to us for their poor customer service or take any responsibility for the mistakes on their part. They are very unsympathetic and unwilling to bend. Proceed with extreme caution. They are fine if they mange to get it right the first time. If they make a mistake - good luck to you if you use them.

Used to be a part of WPCU but the lines seemed to be growing and their service wasn't keeping up…read more When I switched to Day Air I was relieved when the lines were short and their service was awesome. They even have a play area my son could play at while I took care of my finances. Don't be fooled by these huge credit unions out there. They are no different than banks. Stick with smaller credit unions that provide quality service and support the community.

My mother passed away unexpectly and I wanted to keep her car and kept making her payments as to…read morekeep everything current until her life insurance came so I could pay off her loan. In June I made the payment early and went in and took her death notice and talked to a associate and explained I needed the pay off as to arrange a date to bring cashiers check in and pay for car. They gave me a pay off date and amount. I left there thinking all was good and woke up the next more to a man repossing the car!!! I was in shock and explained it must be a mistake and asked him to allow me to call them before he took the car. I did and this incredible nasty man gets on the phone with and says I must allow them to take the car and whoever I talked to was mistaken. I explained I was there day before and had a written pay off and the car was actually in probate so the title would be put in my name. He said I had 15 days to get a letter of authority from probate court and pay off the loan or they would sell it at public auction!! It added insult to injury after losing my mom and was still in shock. I thought I had done the right thing by keeping payments current and letting them no I wanted to pay off the loan and even arrange the date. They were ugly and nasty and made a already awful situation in my life even worse. If the payments had been behind, Then I could had understood this but being I was there in good faith the day before? I called my lawyer and he expeditied the letter of authority through probate when he found out they took the car. They sent me a certified letter and gave me the pay off and added 400 dollars for the repo charge? I go down with cashier check in hand and my letter of authority and then tried to say I owed 20.00 bucks more? I could not believe this? Then they release the lean and I drive to Huber Heights to collect my car and the repo guy told me when he took car tehre would no charge on there end for holding the car and find out they want 200 in cash only? When driving home I start to notice a strange noise? I discovered after taking my car to my repair guy that the noise was my tire and I had just months ago had all brand new tires put on the car. He said one tire had a huge dropping bald spot? When I asked what caused that, He said he had only seen this in repo situations where they drug the car off of trailer. So now, I have to replace the tire. My advice to anyone is avoid Day Air Credit Union as there not professional and there behavior was at best shady.

During the closing their true spirit became clear as they slipped some additional paperwork in with the 6" tall stack of papers to sign without mentioning that they had opened additional accounts in our name and were charging us fees on all of them. Once this became clear they were unapologetic, but agreed to cancel the accounts once the fees were paid. So we reluctantly paid the fees and refinanced with a more honest bank. Assuming this mistake was behind us, we received a notice in the mail several months later for unpaid fees and additional interest. They either weren't competent enough to cancel the accounts when they said they would or left them open in another dishonest attempt at our money. Either way, I'd advise anyone considering doing business here to consider your options carefully and make sure you read the fine print and cover yourself.
