We also had their coffees/tea. My daughter really liked both the iced coffees she had. I thought the Chai was pretty good. We ordered sandwiches both times. The first time they were awesome. So much so that we went back a week later. This time they weren't as good. My daughter's sandwich this time was so terribly made she couldn't eat it and it started to make her nauseous. It was literally was drowning in mayonnaise. Which made the bottom bun dissolve. And there was mayo put in every single layer between toppings. The lunch meat this time was just packaged meat and had been laid on the sandwich with several pieces just folded over in a clump. No clue why it had been made so sloppily this time or why that much mayo would be put on any sandwich. It was inedible. She tossed it. The whole thing. I ordered the same sandwich both times. A Brisket sandwich. Same toppings as last time. The first time the sandwich was amazing. The brisket was juicy and flavorful. This time the brisket was so dry that the sandwich was difficult to chew. We'll be back and give them another try.

Lovely farmers market!…read more I've stopped by here twice, so far. Yesterday was my second visit. I was a little later in the time frame both times and may have missed some vendors. Or they don't have many - yet. But I hope to see it grow! It's on a pretty farm - where you can pick your own berries - and held in a nice barn/store on the property. Yesterday was nice enough that a couple of vendors were outdoors. Everything is locally grown/sourced. I've purchased a variety of fresh produce, local chicken & beef (they have pork too), honey, baked goods, herbed butter and fresh herbs, maple syrup & maple bbq sauce. I'm excited for the maple vinegar I got there yesterday and can't wait to use it. And fresh farm eggs! Once you have fresh farm eggs you'll never want to buy them from a grocery store again. They also have a variety of jams, dried mushrooms (I will be getting some of those the next visit!) and natural body products.

Simmons Farm was just what we were looking for. We were looking for a quieter farm with u-pick…read morepumpkin, and a few activities. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Melissa Simmons. This included welcoming us to use one of their sanitizeed carts. After telling her this was our first visit to their farm, Melissa introduced herself, she then told us about the farm and the activities. Our first stop was the pumpkin patch. Melissa told us that if we were lucky we may still find blue pumpkins. These are "robin's egg blue Cinderella pumpkins." We carefully scoured the pumpkin patch for them to no avail. It looks like we were too late to find one. We did find some awesome orange and green pumpkins, orange pumpkins, a few white pumpkins, cushaw squash, and an assortment of small and large gourds. Activities are well spaced out. There are seasonal favorites such as a corn maze, hayrides and cutouts. Maps are available for the corn maze if guests are worried about getting lost. For 2020, hay rides are priced per person, with only one family in the wagon at a time. One unique activity is a giant trebuchet. Guests may pay to launch pumpkins from it. There is a play area with spaced out activities for younger children. Visitors are welcome to walk around the farm. They have sheep, chickens and rabbits. There is a creek behind the corn maze. Complimentary U-pick raspberries may be snacked on while visiting. Picnic tables are available to use. Prepackaged snacks are available for purchase. Some farm fresh goodies such as eggs and jam were also available for purchase.

I joined this CSA a few years ago but had to drop out. It was too far too pick up our weekly box…read moreof produce. But I was looking online again this year and discovered that they now offer a closer pick-up location! Yay! Because I am a fan :o) As a CSA member you join and pay up-front. Then you pick-up a box of produce at a designated location. At the start of the season (it began last week), the box was pretty sparse. We got asparagus, rhubarb, and green onions. Because it was a bit empty, they supplemented with maple syrup. This week was green onions, napa cabbage, and asparagus. They supplemented with puffed corn and spelt. Once the season gets rolling, the boxes are full and you get freshly picked, whatever's-in-season produce! It has provided us with so many opportunities to try new foods. Cedarmore is Amish, so that makes me want to support them even more. They use hard work and basic farming implements to farm and use organic methods. I figured that for the amount that I pay, it more than pays out for what we get in our produce boxes compared to what I could buy at the store. (12 weeks is $180) Plus it's supporting a local farmer!!!

This is an amazing beautiful farm near my home. Take a drive on a day with the sun shining, your…read morewindows down, through the rolling hills of Indian Hill...gape at the estates, the beautiful countryside, and then arrive, surprisingly, at the entrance to this gorgeous organic farm. Drive slowly down the gravel driveway, and as you approach, you realize you are truly somewhere special. Exotic chickens roam free, a beautiful horse (Clydesdale?) grazes behind a barn. Chicken houses, signs pointing out different growing areas, all so lovely and peaceful. Go inside the barn, open the fridges, pick out what's fresh, and put your money in the pail. They also take checks if you don't have cash! Our favorites are the eggs (brown), kale, shitake mushrooms... It's truly an immersive experience while you are picking out your produce, etc. If you can't make it to the farm (which you really should someday), find their stand at the Madeira Farmer's Market.
