I've taken various friends with me over the years. With COVID this year, you weren't allowed to bring your own bucket, but this was ok because I usually buy their boxes anyway. I like that I can use them and recycle them. Earlier this week, I spent about 2 hours picking strawberries and walked out with about 17 pounds. I was able to make jam & jelly, as well as save some berries to go with strawberry shortcake. The prices are reasonable at $2.95/pound for pick your own and $5.75/container of pre-picked berries.

Today's strawberries were on the smaller side but still sweet. Gathered up over four pounds of berries to make fun concoctions, mostly jelly. Since this wasn't the start of picking season it took about five mins for me to really find some that were worth pulling. In my experience, many were along the irrigation pipes, and the larger ones were covered (shades) with thick green leaves. Tip: Contact or follow the farms social media for key picking times and confirm picking is available before you make the hike to the area.

We bought a large bag of Jon's for $8. Not a big cider fan but I bought a small jug and really liked it! If you love apple cider, theirs is super fresh! Pumpkins are 40 cents a pound, we bought a decent sized one for $5! Nice to support a local farm rather than Kroger. It's not a large barn but it's just right for a quick stop. AND the apples are delicious.

Not an employee in sight. The food and bar always seem to be closed. Can't even find where to purchase their famous doughnuts. They built the huge play area for children which is great! But please don't advertise all your food and drink options if it's never going to be open or an employee around to check you out. Nothing like your toddler melting down because they want a juice and you can't find a way to pay for it. I love the baby animals and all the kids activities but until they figure out how to properly run this place I probably won't come back.

There are about 30 rows, two sided, full of blueberry bushes with so many berries, it didn't feel crowded at all. They also sell by the pint, we did the math and the price is the same. Would recommend the experience and taking the time to do something different and pick them yourself. The berries are so good, we've been enjoying eating them daily and are almost out already! I made a blueberry coffee cake that turned out amazing too. Hope to return this season!

While they don't have an indoor restroom, I was grateful to find they had a very clean port-a-potty. Because that was the very first thing my toddler asked to do! This place is adorable! Their little house where you get your basket and then pay is so sweet!! There are chairs out front by beautiful flowers (talk about perfect for a picture). They provide small wooden baskets that hold two empty cardboard pints. The nice boy at the counter explained what was growing where and we were on our way! We came at a time where blackberries and raspberries were available. I have to say that things were pretty picked over on this particular day - while the bushes were decently loaded with berries, most of them were green. While I enjoyed the hunt this provided, my toddler eventually lost interest. Go figure. We ended up with one pint of blackberries. We visited the raspberry bushes, but there were literally only a handful left. They'd run out over the weekend, so that why we visited on a Wednesday. So make sure you check their facebook page or call ahead in case they close early.

In the market, I usually stock up on cider, preserves, and fresh fruit--and I always grab a bottle of Wise Bird Cider (so good). They also offer baking mixes, vegetables, meats, and more. You'll find seasonal favorites like strawberries, apples, and pumpkins throughout the year, and everything is consistently fresh and delicious. We make it a tradition to buy strawberries in May, grab peaches during the summer, and pick apples in early fall. Stepping Stone also serves as a wedding and private events venue, and I often see school field trips there as well. The owners and staff are absolute sweethearts, and it's clear they genuinely care about what they do. They're wonderful community partners, and it really shows.

They also had plenty of berries in their store you could just walk in and buy some along with some vegetables, fresh baked goods, jams and pickles, frozen meats and local dairy products.
