The park is moderately large sized and during the annual Tulip Festival, parking is hard to come by, otherwise is okay any other day. The park has a center stage fountain and many beds of flowers. In my opinion, it's the most beautiful in April and May, when all the tulips are in full blossom. There are also several trail areas to walk and during the Tulip Fest, the area is totally filled with food trucks and vendors. Year after year, there is an increased amount of food trucks and vendors, which seems to show how it has become largely popular. I enjoy my visits to Washington Park whenever I am in the area and will most definitely do so in the future.

Trail follows a wooded path that leads to a walk along the river (that is also still wooded). My only dislike is that some sections have a steep cliff drop to the river. BUT there is usually also a single lane trail a bit farther inland you could use if heights bother you (which is the case with me). I walk on the inside and my husband likes the outside closer to the edge. Very pretty to see the river and watch it flow while walking alongside it. Also love looking for birds here. I guess the police/rescue squad get about 5-10 calls every spring-early fall to get some idiot that overestimated their free climbing prowess, got in a hairy spot, and (best case) froze and needed help back down. Worst case they fall, get injured and need to be carried out. Back in the day when I was still a young woman I did enjoy hiking in with some friends and finding a quiet spot near the falls to enjoy the natural vibes with the help of some good quality bud. , Haven't been up to the falls in years but I imagine not much has changed. Note/another reviewer questioned why the city doesn't keep it up better as it is a nice spot. I think the land is privately owned not city property.

Though this won't present much of of a challenge to someone looking for a serious hike, and the trails could be cleaner and better marked (at one point we ended up accidentally wandering off the path and into a litter-filled clearing), this is mostly just a delightful mini nature escape that more locals should definitely know about.

First, it has plenty of hiking trails and paths for scenic walks for families, including dogs. It has two well-maintained tennis courts, a basketball court, a baseball field, pool and plenty of picnic tables. It even has a big playground for the kids, and a pool. I love taking a walk at the paths, especially towards the top of the hill, and towards the back of the golf course. The park is dog friendly as well. I love taking my pup for a walk here. If you go now, they have banners honoring local military veterans, and war heroes. They also just added a memorial for heroes who served in wars. It's definitely worth checking out! There's a fee for parking on some weekends, but weekdays are free.

I've been here multiple times for parties. They have two pavilions, one with a kitchen and its own…read morebathrooms. They've got a building that's used by the community for events. I really never walked the trails when I've come because I was there for events. With working from home during COVID I've been searching out places for my pup and I to go walk. The park has two trails, one at the north end and one south. The trails run along the Moordenerkill creek. The southern trail has shorter trails leading off of it. There's also a dirt road that seems to be a mile or so long that leads to the Miracle Field (baseball field for disabled people). They've got a new playground and even a dog park for town residents.
